8am
Feeling a bit better today. Hope Curtis gets here early to fix the brakes. I don't want to spend all day on it!
~~~~~~~~~~
10am
Curtis still not here. Guess I will go out and fill all the bird feeders & clean the bird bath ...
~~~~~~~~~~
11am
Got all the bird feeders & bird bath cleaned & filled. Had to throw the pretty stained glass feeder away as I dropped one of the panes & shattered it ... :(
My friend, Inger's niece Henriette, is in the bootcamp for X-Factor Denmark & has been grouped with 2 other young ladies as a group. Here is one of their songs:

Henriette is in the middle. She has a lovely voice & some of her covers can be found on her YouTube page:
http://www.youtube.com/user/DanyaaMUSIC
Good luck to her on X-Factor DK!
What do I want for lunch!? I have no idea ...
~~~~~~~~~~
noon
Still no cousin ... going to have lunch now. Leftovers. Then, I'll do my exercises.
~~~~~~~~~~
1pm
Well, I read another chapter of Torchwood Something In The Water while riding my exercycle 2.2 miles at 17.3 mph for 7.28 minutes and burned 107 calories. A lot better than yesterday, but not my best! Did all my chair exercises, resistance rings & counter push-ups, too! Now to rest a bit before I go out & clean the furnace filter. Not going to count on Curtis showing up ... figures.
~~~~~~~~~~
2pm
I have the filter furnace drying against the fence in the sunlight. Yes, we have lots of sun today. Very nice out!
Time for a snack!  Amy's Organic Bunny Classics Buttery Rich Crackers with Sabra Roasted Red Pepper Hummus. Yum.
My mom is making a Shepherd's Pie recipe for dinner that she found in BelAir's Something Extra magazine.
~~~~~~~~~~
3pm
Well, Curtis showed up & it's too late to start on the brakes. He's been stuck at his dad's all day doing his billing for his trucking business. Uncle Buddy can be so trying ... So, Curtis is going to come back Tues. after I get off work & change the brakes - hope it doesn't rain. Oh, well, at least my car still stops! But, he could have called. He was just around the corner!
I can't believe I refreshed the page of the game I was playing!!! Argh! So much for a high score there! Starting back at the beginning!
I think I'll read some fanfic ...
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
Going to bed now. Reading a really good fanfic that's a crossover of Supernatural & Dresden Files.
No quote today.
January 30, 2010
10:30am
Today I feel so blah.
Felt the same yesterday, so sorry there was no blog. It was a long day. My mom had another dr. appt. that took too long & then she wanted to go grocery shopping. Didn't get home until after 1pm. No work yesterday, so I was going to try to work today & just couldn't. So, that put me a bit behind in my projects. So, will have to make up for it next week.
Been trying to call around to haulers today to see when I can get someone to haul the extra fridge & bed away. No one is answering, of course! I was hoping to have them gone this weekend, but looks like I'll have to try next week.
I got all my chair exercises done & trying to get the energy to ride the exercycle ...
I've been in pain a lot this week, so I think that is what is dragging me down. I've been trying not to take too many tylenols or aspirin, but sometimes, there is no choice.
~~~~~~~~~~
11am
Called around to the local auto parts stores for prices on brake pads for the Toyota. Curtis is supposed to come over & change them tomorrow for me.
Talk about having no energy ... just rode the exercycle for only 2.45 minutes, going .8 miles at 19.5mph & only burned 42 calories. I read a very short chapter in Torchwood Something In the Water. Need to take a tylenol ... back/hip is killing me.
My internet connection has been so sluggish this month. I hope when they finish upgrading things it gets better. Supposed to upgrade everyone that isn't already at their Internet 3 level for free this month. But, of course the cable TV went up about $4.
~~~~~~~~~~
noon
I really need to eat something, but feeling too sick. But, I have to find something ... nothing sounds good, nothing looks good ...
I want to light a candle, but not in the mood for my mom complaining about 'what's that smell?'
I ended up having the old standby of quesadillas. Not what I wanted, but had to eat something.
~~~~~~~~~~
1pm
I wish I knew why the damn TV was even on. Every time a loud commercial comes on, she turns the sound off and then leaves it off! Guess I'll listen to John Barrowman on the headphones for a while since I can't watch TV without sound on ...
And, now I'm getting a headache ... and, Jorgy has decided to hide between the back of the couch & my desk on all the computer cables!
This is so not my day ...
~~~~~~~~~~
2:30pm
Straightened up the shelf in my bedroom closet & got the rest of the jewelry boxes & suitcases up off the floor. I have more room to use my exercise ball in my bedroom now.
I think I'll go out on the porch & scrub the outside of Papa's ice box & sweep the birdseed off the top. Our wild birds are so messy! It's a nice day out & I shouldn't totally waste it.
~~~~~~~~~~
3pm
Did as much as I could on the ice box today. It'll take a lot more cleaning to get 40+ years of grease & dirt off of it, then sand & paint it.
~~~~~~~~~~
4pm
I'm trying really hard not to blow up today. I'm hurting so much, it's putting me in a very bad mood & Jorgy is not helping!
I've gotta take another tylenol. Second today. I just don't want to get back into taking them nearly every hour of the day like I used to ... even my bad shoulder is hurting today ...
~~~~~~~~~~
6pm
My headache is nearly gone! I'm on track to drink a full 64 oz. of fluids today. Very good. Still feel like crap because of my hip bothering me so much, but at least my head doesn't hurt!
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
Time to go to bed. Watching an old Miss Marple movie & then Sea Hawk with Errol Flynn in a bit. Classics.
Capt. Geoffrey Thorpe: Brave, but impractical. Now we English are a practical people. I've no intention of drowning with you.
3pm
It's been a pretty good day, so far. I got 3 stores serviced today by noon & then stopped at Big Lots to get my mom a small space heater for her bathroom.
Got all of my chair exercises done earlier & just finished riding my exercycle reading a short chapter in Torchwood Something In The Water. I haven't ridden for a few days, so took it easy. Travelled 1.5 miles at 20.1 mph for 4.47 minutes & burned 75 calories.
I seem to be holding steady at 149 lbs. this month. Still have 30 lbs. I want to lose by August ...
~~~~~~~~~~
6pm
Gahhh! The sun was out most of the day, so now at nearly 6pm the kids next door are playing basketball outside my window! Time for Pandora!
My mom has a big list of stuff to get at the grocery store after her dr. appt. tomorrow. Obviously, there will be no chance of servicing any of my stores for work even if I'd planned to!
Should be a good night on TV tonight. CSI, Supernatural and Burn Notice!
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
I guess I'll close up early to watch TV tonight!
Here's a quote:
Gil Grissom: So, let's see. You surf, you scuba dive. You're into latex, you like fashion models and Marilyn Manson. And you also have a coin collection?
Greg Sanders: Weird, ha?
Gil Grissom: Well, I race cockroaches!
January 27, 2010
noon
Took my mom to her heart dr. appt. this morning--had to be there at 9. The traffic was awful that early in the morning. I usually don't leave home until 9 & miss all that craziness!
At least she found out she is down to 195 lbs. She has 2 more appt. in the next 2 mos. there.
Didn't have time to eat breakfast this morning. I'm making Pithivier Puff Pastry with Almond Cream Filling. Got it at Trader Joe's the other day. I don't have any powdered sugar to sprinkle on it, though!
Damn, we ate the whole thing! It was delicious!
~~~~~~~~~~
3pm
Just closed my Fic Rec tweet page. I don't like being the only one reccing fic, so why bother. I'll keep all the good fics to myself! haha! Nah, I'll post the links here. Read this short one earlier:
Stupid Cool Earpieces by dawniekins18 TW/DW J/I slash 1/1
Haven't been doing any of my exercises the past couple of days. My damn hip has been bothering me too much. Might try some chair exercises later, though.
No matter how I look at it, I'm going to have to work this weekend. Not a happy camper ...
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
I'm going to bed very early. It's been a long, boring day. Hope to get 3 stores serviced tomorrow since my mom has another dr. appt. Fri. at her regular dr.
A poem:
Winter Trees by William Carlos Williams
All the complicated details
of the attiring and
the disattiring are completed!
A liquid moon
moves gently among
the long branches.
Thus having prepared their buds
against a sure winter
the wise trees
stand sleeping in the cold.
7pm
I almost decided to not do a blog today, but thought, Why the hell not!
I've always thought it was ridiculous that people will complain about the things that are shared with them freely. You know, if you join a group (in Yahoo, Google, or some other group-like setting), there's such a thing as a delete button. It really does prevent a lot of hard feelings if you use it without complaint. You don't like something you are reading, press the delete button. You were allowed to join by the person who created the group. YOU wanted in the group, so that includes getting the messages made to the group. Don't like them, delete them or LEAVE THE GROUP. Same with the newer types of socializing. No one forced you to follow someone, so stop complaining about their messages. Just scroll past them or UNFOLLOW them! Why upset someone because you don't want to bother using your head? Why make something enjoyable for the person posting into something upsetting? You're having a bad day, don't pass it on to others!
Why am I upset about this? Because 3x now I've had people complain to me about what I post on MY Twitter page. Why do you have to RT everything? Why are you sending so many music links? How can I stop getting all the Prop 8 tweets you're sending? You don't like them, too bad. There are apparently 230+ others who don't seem to mind, or know how to scroll past them & read the ones that interest them.
And, now for something fun!
~~~~~~~~~~
8:30pm
I've decided to unblock this blog, so after tonight, all posts are visible to the public. Don't like them, don't read them!
Going to close up now & watch another Full House. Love that show!

8am
Adorable baby:

~~~~~~~~~~
1pm
This has not been a good day. Started off fine, then I went out to start my car to go to work ... nothing. No clicking, no starting, no dash lights, nothing. Spent 3 hours trying to figure out what was wrong. At noon, I discovered a loose wire. Tightened it & car started right up! Grr. Wasted day. Put me behind in my work week. Have to try to service 5 stores tomorrow, but doubt I can. Will definitely get the 3 done I was going to do today, though.
Need to find something to eat, now.
~~~~~~~~~~
3:30pm
Picked out 2 more things to put on Etsy, probably tomorrow. A gold wrench tie clasp & some unusual cuff links. Have to research them a bit.
Got a load of wash done & put away.
I think I might work on another fanart piece this afternoon ... Need to find the pics I want to use.
Got rid of some more junk in the garbage today. If the rain lets up this weekend, I am going to try to go through the stuff under the tarp in the carport & toss a bunch of it.
Put 2 more pair of pants in the bag for Goodwill, too. I've lost inches & weight & they are way too big now. Yay!
~~~~~~~~~~
5pm
Well, my cousin showed up--he missed my second message on his machine saying he didn't need to come since I figured out my car problem. But, I got him to agree to come this weekend & replace the brakes on the car! So, that's a plus.
Hopefully, it won't rain the day he comes ...
Almost time for dinner. Gnocci & artichokes.
~~~~~~~~~~
7pm
Dinner was good. I can't believe I've never had gnocci before. Had apple slices afterward.
Decided not to make any art tonight. Just not in the mood. Don't really want to do anything ... I guess I will play Blackbeard's Island for a bit.
I'm upset that I didn't get any real exercise in today, but I did drink plenty of fluids and my migraine is gone finally!
I got my W2 from work in the mail today. I have no excuse not to start working on my taxes other than I DON'T WANT TO!

January 24, 2010

7am
Been up most of the night with this damn migraine! Finally got out of bed at about 5. Still feel like crap. So, not going to do too much today, I think.
Very frustrated with the fish tanks. I have an overabundance of brown diatom (algae) blooms in both tanks. Just cleaned them last week & there is more + this week. I know it happens in new tanks, but I am already doing everything you are supposed to do to get rid of it! There's enough light, I don't over-feed or overcrowd, there's adequate aeration, live plants, etc. I am not sure of the silicate level in this awful Woodland water, though, so that might be the main problem. So, sometime today I need to pull out all the plastic plants & boil them and wipe down the inside of the glass. I am really not up to draining or cleaning the gravel today ...
Well, my mom is apparently coming out of her room today ... the peace & quiet is gone ...
~~~~~~~~~~
8am
Guess I will start going through this week's surveys & catch up on those. Also need to eat something ...
Looks like it's about to start raining again soon.
~~~~~~~~~~
10am
Well, the headache is trying to subside. Decided to use the tongs and pull out all the plastic plants & accessories from the fish tank & boil them all. Fish aren't happy, though. Next I'll wipe down the inside glass with a towel & stir up the gravel a bit. Gonna cloud up the water for a bit & then will change the filters after I replant the plants. Wet mess ...
~~~~~~~~~~
noon
Fish are done. Headache's back ...
What do I want for lunch!! I have noooo idea ...
Ah, quesadillas! An easy stand-by when I can't think of anything else! Maybe with some pepper flakes melted in the cheese ...
~~~~~~~~~~
4pm
Spent a couple of hours clearing out some files I don't use on my external hard drive & organized some of my extra font files. Need to do that more often! I need to go through & delete about 30GB of crap, at least.  I got rid of about 7GB today.
Having leftovers for dinner. The soup is reheating in the crockpot now.
Need to decide what pictures to use on some challenge art I have sitting in my PSP.
~~~~~~~~~~
6pm
Just finished some fanart of Anthony Starke:
I just love this actor & have for years. The images are from various roles he's been in over the years. The top right is from a cult classic, Return of the Killer Tomatoes which he starred in with George Clooney back in 1988!  Bottom right is my favorite role of Ezra Standish in The Magnificent Seven! He's currently on a show called Make It Or Break It on the ABCFamily channel.
~~~~~~~~~~
7:30pm
This week is going to be hectic. My mom has 2 dr. appts on different days, late enough that I can't work before or after. The national manager for my company & my district manager are doing a tour of stores this week, so I have to make sure I get to certain ones before they go to them & make sure my displays are in good shape ... plus, I have a HUGE double project in one of my stores that may take more than 4 hours to do. Yeah, I can get all that done in 3 days ...riiiiight ... at least my migraine is gone for now.
Well, I just got a response from my manager ... the double project takes one person SEVEN hours ... I can't do that. I will have to split it over 2 days! That sucks!!
I didn't do any exercises today other than 5 counter push-ups!! Hate that. And, I only drank about 50 oz. of fluids today. Not enough, but it is too late to drink any more tonight.
Must do better on both counts tomorrow! I'll at least get a lot of walking done in my stores.
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
I think I will close up early tonight & play Blackbeard's Island.
Here's a quote:
January 23, 2010
9am
Good day so far. A load of laundry done completely; birds cleaned & fed & floor around cage vacuumed. I found a nice piece of solid dark blue material in one of the craft bins to use as a backdrop for photos of things I'll be selling online. Need to iron that in a bit as it has creases from being folded. The old baby blanket I had been using is just too busy-looking.
I've finished all of my chair exercises!
Interesting thing I forgot to mention yesterday is that I had a guy from a merchandising company ask if I was interested in more work. He saw me servicing one of my glasses displays. Gave me his card. I'll file it for future reference.
My mom has decided to spend the day in bed! So, I'll need to wash the dishes later & start some soup in the crock pot, I think. After lunch I'll do that.
~~~~~~~~~~
10am
Ironed the piece of material & have set up a display of the next thing I'm going to get listed for sale. Need to figure out my new camera in a bit!
I also spritzed all the inside plants with water.
I need to find instructions on how to melt down old candles that have lost their wicks. I have at least 3 I need to combine into one with a new wick ...
I'm doing pretty good on fluids today. I'm on my 3rd glassful already!
~~~~~~~~~~
11am
Got the Buckeye Bean soup started in the crockpot! The water is waiting to 'boil' in it; the beans are all rinsed; the onion is cut.
Washed the glass cake display (can't remember what it's called right now!) Anyway, it is ready for more cookies later.
I was able to scrape the old candle wax out of one of my candle holders & put in one of the others. And, I scraped the middle out of that one & was able to put a new wick into it. The other I was able to scrape enough away from the top to actually find the old wick & expose it enough to use again. I really didn't want to go through dealing with using the double boiler to melt them down & start over. Just no time today. But this will work!
I just got my new Kodak camera's software installed & registered & took my first pics! Hope they turn out. I love the big viewfinder!
~~~~~~~~~~
1pm
It took a while, but I finally figured out how to get the pictures out of the new camera! It just wasn't clicking for a bit! I was getting frustrated! But, I am very happy with the quality of the pics with this camera! I now have the incentive to get rid of my oldest computer!! I only kept it because the other good digital camera I had would only work on the ME, but it was such a hassle to deal with the twain driver to get the pics off the camera. Gonna ask a friend if she wants it. If not, it will get listed on freecycle, sharecycle & craigslist. And, if that doesn't work, it'll go to the electronics dump (that would be a shame, since it still works ...)
Time to make some fresh bread!
~~~~~~~~~~
2pm
The bread is baking in the bread machine. Making whole wheat this time. I'm starting to get a migraine ... don't think I will get to making any cookies today ...
Took an Excedrin for migraines & it hasn't made a dent yet ... damn! I need to get the 2 things listed on Etsy that I took pictures for! But, I can't concentrate to think up good tags for them! I want to re-take the pictures for the items I already have listed, too. Doesn't look like I will get to that today, though!
It's been so peaceful out here today with my mom in her room. She did come out for a bit & wash a few of the dishes, then disappeared again ...
~~~~~~~~~~
3pm
Well, I had to make my mom come out & help me. I had taken the recycling out to the carport where the bins are. While I was out (since it wasn't raining) I went around front to look at all our bulbs that are blooming. There are some really cute mini daffodils blooming! Anyway, I found that the skirting had popped loose behind the flower bed, so had to pop it back into place. I figured I better do a circuit around the trailer to make sure nothing else had been damaged during the recent storms. Sure enough, a piece of corner siding up near the roof had torn off. So, I had to get my mom to come out and hold the ladder while I repaired it. Finished just in time for the rain to start again & then got inside in time for the timer to go off on the bread machine. Fresh bread is ready to be sliced now!
~~~~~~~~~~
5pm
Soup's not quite done yet, so dinner will be a little late. In the mean time, I got my listings added to Etsy!
Vintage 1950s Hickok Tie Clasp/Cuff Link Set & Vintage 1950s Tussy Compact.
~~~~~~~~~~
6pm
The soup turned out great! Had a 1/2 slice of homemade bread & half a banana, too.
I've just about surpassed 64 oz. of fluids today. That's very good. But, I still have a headache ...
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
It's been a long, busy day so I am going to my room to read & hope my migraine ends before morning.
January 22, 2010
No blog today, really. Just a kind of blah day. Got 3 stores serviced today & shopped at both Whole Foods & Trader Joe's. Love those 2 stores!
Twitter was very busy today, but yahoogroups was dead.
Watching a bunch of Full House episodes. Loved that show.
Hope to get some online shop work done tomorrow, along with some chores around here. Need to clean the furnace filter, bake some bread & cookies and too many other things to get done ...
January 21, 2010
3:30pm
Ah, late starting the blog notes today.
I just finished riding my exercycle & reading another chapter of Torchwood Slow Decay. Traveled 4.8 miles at 17.4 mph for 16.49 minutes & burned 233 calories! I did my chair exercises and resistance rings earlier.
I only serviced 2 stores today. Will do the other 3 tomorrow after my mom's dr. appt.
~~~~~~~~~~
6pm
This has been a lazy evening. Actually, this whole week has felt that way ... Just reading emails & Tweets and playing Blackbeard's Island on Facebook on the other computer.
Need to air my tires up tomorrow when I take my mom to her dr. appt. Hate that I am going to pay for air when I have 2 air compressors. But, they are both buried in the shed & it was too cold when I got home to unbury them & use them!  Grr.
I need to go to Whole Foods & Trader Joe's before I come home tomorrow after I get those 3 stores done. I need a couple of ingredients for some recipes I want to make this weekend, plus toilet paper & some other stuff. I wish they had those stores over here, but only in Sacramento. Luckily, they are across from stores that I service every month.
I don't think I'm going to get my 64 oz. of fluids in today ... Once I finish this tea, that will be about 50 ... hmmm, I'm staying up late to watch Burn Notice, so maybe I will get another glassful of water in ...
Dang. Forgot to do my Zone Cleaning yesterday--dust my bedroom, so I'll do it tonight before bed. I don't have any hot spots in there, so don't need to do today's zone! Yay, me!
~~~~~~~~~~
7pm
Yay, I'm on my last drink for the night! I'll make that 64 oz. This is something I think I will always have to work on. I've always dehydrated easily & haven't always taken in enough fluids in the past. One of the causes of my migraines--nutritional for me. Not enough fluids & malnutrition by not taking in enough of certain minerals (mainly magnesium, which I take supplements for.) But, by taking in enough fluid, I can eliminate that as one of the reasons for the migraines! Just like I did with the magnesium a few years ago.
I dread tomorrow. It is going to be a long day, depending on how long my mom is made to wait at the clinic & how long at the pharmacy for her Rx order. I probably won't get to Sacramento until noon! This sucks & my hip is really bothering me again. I should make her go by herself & take the truck to work ... but, if it rains, my damn headlights don't work.
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
Wow! My friend Velda just sent me a cool link to another site to sell handmade crafts. The amazing thing is that it is totally free to list & sell there! And, you can link to your other selling sites! I'm opening a shop there tomorrow! Until I get my craft room set up, I'm just going to link to my Etsy store as an added way to advertise! I'm going to research the site this weekend to see what the most popular & unusual sells are there.
Sorry, no quote tonight.

January 20, 2010

11am
I didn't go to work again today. It's just storming too much for it to be safe for me on the road. We are getting rock salt-sized hail here in Woodland. Lots of wind and rain today.  Tomorrow is supposed to slack off. Good. I have to get some work done!
Lots of power poles and trees down in Yolo and Sacramento counties ...
Don't think I will get any exercises done today. My hip is bothering me with this weird weather.
Here is that fanart I mentioned yesterday:

The hail only lasted a few minutes, but still raining hard.
~~~~~~~~~~
noon
Yummy lunch. Trader Joe's Everything Bagel Chips with spinach dip. Not the best thing for lunch, but still good!
I'm not drinking enough fluid today. I'm only on my 2nd 10oz. Better have some juice next.
~~~~~~~~~~
5pm
This day has just flown by! Time for dinner already!
~~~~~~~~~~
9pm
What a very lazy day. Almost glad it is done! My hip is killing me, though. So glad I didn't do any exercises even though I have been getting used to doing them every day. Hopefully, I'll get at least the chair exercises in tomorrow. I did drink about 60 oz. of fluids today! And, no headache!
January 19, 2010
10:30am
I decided not to work today as it was storming too much & too many wrecks on the highway I needed to take ... Yeah, lazy chicken, but at least no risk of death by crazy drivers! Will reassess tomorrow. I may end up having to work the weekend if the storms stick around.
I ended up accepting my old moderator job back at the group I mentioned yesterday. But, hopefully, won't be doing as much as in the past since there are 2 other mods now. We'll see ...
It was storming so bad this morning, Jorgy wouldn't finish pottying outside. We both got soaked! And, she is only 8 lbs, so kept being pushed by the wind. Made a mess inside an hour later ... grr.
Time for exercises!
It takes less than 10 minutes to do all of my chair exercises & resistance rings; 17 exercises with various repetitions on each. Not bad. Now to the exercycle!
Travelled 5.2 miles at 16.0 mph for 19 minutes & burned 248 calories. Then I did 5 counter push-ups (my bathroom counter is sure lower than the kitchen counter!) & balanced precariously on my exercise ball front and back for 5 seconds each. That wasn't easy! I need to find a site with more exercises for the ball ...
~~~~~~~~~~
noon
I found a site for exercise ball exercises & copied them to a text file. Will try some of them this evening before bed.
I just finished with FlyLady's Monday Zone mission, straightening the stuff under my bed. Will do today's after lunch. I really need to start doing more of them! I also picked out my next things to list on Etsy. A vintage gold compact & a vintage gold cuff-link & tie pin set. Need to research those.
Multigrain crackers & red pepper hummus with a cup of Greek honey yogurt for lunch. Yum.
Annnnd, I finished today's Zone mission & got rid of 4 pairs of old socks! Two to garbage, 2 to Goodwill.
~~~~~~~~~~
2pm
Made a dent in the book clutter on the floor of my office. Straightend up a few of the shelves to fit more in them. So, just one stack of car manuals still on the floor. Need to list more books online to sell!
Tossed a few magazines, too!
I keep wondering if I should go back and tag some of my posts on this blog ... will it make them go out of order ... might look into that later.
Just had a turkey hot stick for a snack. My mouth is on fire now!
~~~~~~~~~~
5pm
It sure is difficult to research some vintage things. I can only guess on the years they were made. But, I get as close as I can with what I know about the pieces. Going to list a Hickok gold cufflink & tie clasp set from the '60s & a Tussy gold compact from the '50s tomorrow.
Yay! I heard thunder!!!
But, that was it. Just 1 little rumble & no sign of lightning ... :(
~~~~~~~~~~
7:30pm
Grrr. My PSP crashed while I was making some fanart for a challenge! Lost all the pictures I was going to use ... have to hunt them all down again ... tomorrow ... Oh, what the heck, I'll check ...
Yay, it auto-saved all the pics!!! Going to try to finish the challenge.
~~~~~~~~~~
10pm
I finished the artwork. It is a Glee wall! Mainly Chris Colfer, but some of the other kids, too. It's late, so I will upload it tomorrow.
Almost time for a new ep of White Collar, so I'll close up now.

January 18, 2010

9am
Today is going to be a totally lazy day. I'm still in my pjs! That never happens! haha!
Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, so I thought I'd put up a couple of great vids I found at Towleroad:

Many people don't like the comparison between "gay rights" & the rights of "people of color", but it all breaks down to the phrase in our Declaration of Independence that proclaims "equality for all". Do we believe in that, or do we let our prejudices, fears, so-called morals, or religious traditions mold our image of what true equality is? I think it is a no-brainer.
Random House dictionary states that equality means "the state or quality of being equal; correspondence in quantity, degree, value, rank, or ability" and is synonymous of "equivalency, parity, correspondence, sameness; justice, fairness, impartiality."
And, Merriam-Webster's Dictionary of Law states "the quality or state of being equal: as a : sameness or equivalence in number, quantity, or measure b : likeness or sameness in quality, power, status, or degree".
So, yeah ... no-brainer!
~~~~~~~~~~
10:30am
Last night I moved Papa's desk into my bedroom. Have been planning to do that since I think it matches the bedroom set & I needed someplace to use my laptop to read fanfic at night before bed when I really don't want to stay up out here in my office/living room.
It made a bit more room in here next to the recliner, too.
I'm loving this pouring rain today, but I am disappointed in that we never seem to get outright thunderstorms like we did when I was little. It's extremely rare in this area compared to what it was then. I can remember sitting in the living room, in the dark, with the curtains open & watching all the flashes of lightning & hearing the roar of thunder booming. Miss doing that.
~~~~~~~~~~
noon
All regular exercises done--exercycle, resistance rings, counter push-ups & chair exercises. Still need to get back into the ab-doer & learn what to do with the exercise ball I bought yesterday. I read a chapter in Torchwood Slow Decay while riding 4.7 miles at 15.6 mph for 17.53 minutes & burned 227 calories.
Need to eat!
Mmm. Made a couple of quesadillas for lunch.
~~~~~~~~~~
1pm
Hmmmm. Should I or shouldn't I? I recently accepted my mod job back on one of the Yahoogroups where I used to be mod for over 4 years. I've been asked by one of the other groups to come back, too. This one I had modded for nearly as long. I stepped down last year from both (& actually left one completely) when things got really hectic with house-hunting & such ... my problem with this one is that I felt like I was doing EVERYTHING for the group without actually being an owner! I can't let that happen again, or let others push me into that. And, I have issues with several of the members--they annoy the hell out of me ... many times I was a breath away from dumping them from the group! Have to think on it some more.
~~~~~~~~~~
2pm
A new episode of Make It Or Break It is on tonight. And, according to Starkeness website, Anthony Starke may be in this one!!! Yay! Finally! (Although imdb doesn't list him for the ep ... worrisome.)
~~~~~~~~~~
4:30pm
I've spent several hours whittling down the number of emails I've been saving in my Incredimail program. I've eliminated more than 60 from my main folder!!! Most were fic alerts from LJ that I copied the link into a text file for future reading. I now only have 40 posts in that folder & none are fic links!!
Looks like we won't be having soup for dinner. My mom just can't get it in her head to start the crock pot in the morning if she wants something done for dinner!
~~~~~~~~~~
6pm
Well, the soup did get finished for dinner & it was yummy!
I finally got my shipment from FlyLady! I now have a stainless steel bottle, a timer that vibrates & a dryer vent cleaning kit. Been wanting those for a while!
Most of the rain from earlier is gone now, but we're supposed to have more throughout the week.
I'm still so overwhelmed when I watch news about Haiti. There was an amazing rescue of a woman in a crumbled bank today. Alive & walked to the car. Her husband never gave up on her. But, the children. So many new orphans. Already before the earthquake, HALF of the Haitian population was under 18 ...
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
Guess I will close up now & go in my room to read for an hour before Make It Or Break It starts & watch tv in there.
A quote:
January 17, 2010
noon
Getting a late start today online. Went to the store this morning as my mom said she needed some things for a recipe she wanted to make. Of course she wanted to go to Grocery Outlet & not BelAir, so they didn't have all the things she wanted. So, we got other things instead & still spent $60!
I listened to a spot on the Elaine Paige BBC radio show this morning (on iplayer) so I could hear 2 of John Barrowman's new songs from his upcoming album. Loved them, of course. If you want to listen to them, go here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006wqwz
His songs are at approximately 0:41 & 1:10 in if you don't want to listen to the whole show.
I'm having a lazy lunch: Health Valley Organic Garden Herb Multigrain crackers with Affi's Artichoke Spread. Yum. But, I just realized I overlooked an ingredient on the crackers! Corn flour!  Grrr. Can't get them again.
It's Sunday, so I am catching up with the week's surveys that haven't expired. Will probably take me a couple of hours!
~~~~~~~~~~
1:30pm
Finished my surveys. A few were expired or I didn't qualify for, but a couple I was able to complete.
Time for exercises. I bought a balance ball today & aired it up. Will try it out tonight before bed.
Read another chapter of Torchwood Slow Decay while riding the exercycle for 5.2 miles at 16.2 mph for 18.24 minutes & burning 251 calories. Did all my chair exercises first & now working the resistance rings.
~~~~~~~~~~
3pm
Working on a fanart wall for a challenge in one of the groups I am in. Can't decide exactly what I want to do with it, though!
~~~~~~~~~~
7pm
Just finished a fanart wall:

I'm getting a headache. I haven't drunk enough water today ...
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
Going to close up for the night. Still have a bit of a headache. No work tomorrow. Yay! But, I need to call around & get prices on a hauler to take the bed & fridge to the dump this week.
A poem--I used this one on my fanart tonight:
Dreams in the Dusk by Carl Sandburg
Dreams in the dusk,
Only dreams closing the day
And with the day's close going back
To the gray things, the dark things,
The far, deep things of dreamland.
Dreams, only dreams in the dusk,
Only the old remembered pictures
Of lost days when the day's loss
Wrote in tears the heart's loss.
Tears and loss and broken dreams
May find your heart at dusk.
January 16, 2010
8am
Lots to do today & probably won't get it all done. Off to eat some breakfast & then clean the doves cage.
~~~~~~~~~~
11am
Doves are cleaned & fed, fish are fed, Jorgy's fed ... time for exercises.
~~~~~~~~~~
noon
Lunch is finished. Had a pastrami sandwich, sweet potato chips & dried fruit, along with a Protein Zone drink.
Rode the exercycle for 5 miles at 15.9 mph for 18.36 minutes & burned 243 calories while reading a chapter of Torchwood Slow Decay.
~~~~~~~~~~
1pm
I thought I had serious takers for the queen-size bed & the fridge, but no one has shown up today. So, looks like Monday I'll be calling someone to haul them to the dump. What a shame.
Yay! I now have PCStitch Pro 9 on my computer!!!
I think it's time to make some basic bread in the bread machine.
~~~~~~~~~~
2pm
That didn't take long. Bread is baking. Can't wait! Smells sooo good.
~~~~~~~~~~
4pm
Well, that was interesting ... A guy came knocking at the door asking about the rabbit that lives in the ditch behind us. He thought it was someone's pet that got loose ... he almost hit it on Pioneer Road behind us. I showed him where the rabbit lives & he was sitting there eating wild grass as if he'd always been there. The guy asked if his kids could come look at it. The wife & 5 kids were in the van, so they came over the deck & through Jorgy's yard to look at the big bunny they'd been worried about. Cute. He's a pastor, so of course had to give me a pamphlet before they left.
Still no sign of the people that wanted the fridge or bed ... grrr.
Mama dove is now sitting on FOUR eggs! I think one of the other doves is a female and layed 2 of them ... maybe ... they are all marked in the order they were laid, so I can toss any that sit too long.
~~~~~~~~~~
9pm
Reading a really good fanfic. G'night!
January 15, 2010
3pm
Got 2 stores serviced today & mailed the package from my Etsy sale & was home by 11! Very easy day. Cleared some of the crap from storage from the carport & locked it in the bed of the pick-up so I could get to my recycling. Sorted & bagged up some more recycling. Need to take it to the recycler next week.
I'm getting really annoyed trying to update my Pando program on the XP computer. Very frustrating that it keeps saying that it did not install completely when I have done it 4 times already!
~~~~~~~~~~
5pm
Almost time for dinner & it smells gooood.
Finally got the reinstall & updates done on Pando & I still can't get the darn download to finish on either computer of the program I'm trying to get! Both computers it stops at 37%.
Got in all my exercises. Exercycle ... 1 chapter in Torchwood Slow Decay; 18.2 mph; 5 miles; 17.14 minutes; 243 calories. Good.
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
Wow, what a quiet ... pretty boring day. Gonna close up now.
January 14, 2010
8am
A history lesson for Pat Robertson & his followers:
~~~~~~~~~~
4pm
It's been a long day ... only did 1 store here in town, but there was a big project to do that took nearly 4 hours.
Went to the store after & also got some Priority Mail boxes from their little postal area. Just finished packaging the model train cars I sold yesterday.
Need to get my exercises done!
~~~~~~~~~~
7pm
Didn't ride the exercycle today, but I did do my chair exercises, resistance rings & counter push-ups.
Wading through all my mail & Twitter feeds took way too long today. But, RT'd a lot for Haiti relief & the Prop 8 trial news. Important stuff, I think.
Now, going to read some fanfic before CSI starts.
~~~~~~~~~~
7:30pm
Mama dove has laid egg #2 today. I'm marking these to keep track of gestation.
No quote tonight ...

January 13, 2010

3pm
Good work day again. Serviced 2 stores & then went to my insurance & had towing added to the coverage.
So much sad news about Haiti. I hope to make another donation to Heifer this month & hope it helps a little bit.
Did my chair exercises & counter pushups & resistance rings, then read a chapter in Torchwood Slow Decay while travelling 4.9 miles at 16.2 mph for 17.37 minutes & burned 237 calories.
I'm frustrated about something I got in the mail today. A registration renewal notice on the mobile home. I thought I wouldn't be getting these because of paying some one-time fee ... on something. I have to go through all my paperwork now to figure this out!

I love this vid:

~~~~~~~~~~
5pm
Had raspberry crepes for dinner. Yum!
I may have a taker for the bed finally. They'll be coming on the weekend to pick it up. I also have someone interested in the fridge, but I don't think she has anyone to help her get it ... so not sure about that one.
I hated the thought of taking them to the dump, since they are still very usable.
I had my first Etsy sale today! The vintage model train cars.
~~~~~~~~~~
7pm
Damn American Idol is back on ... no Glee for me tonight ... is it April yet!?
~~~~~~~~~~
9pm
Where did the day go? I've been reading fanfic again!
Here's a poem:
A Dream Within A Dream by Edgar Allan Poe
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow--
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
January 12, 2010
8am
Some rain today. It's needed.
~~~~~~~~~~
2pm
Got 2 stores serviced & went to the bank (I got my oil royalty check!) Just paid 2 bills online. That check really comes in handy!
Need to eat something & then do my exercises!
~~~~~~~~~~
4pm
Listening to the reports of the Haiti earthquake. Ol' Mama Earth is showing her ass this week!
Just finished reading a chapter of Torchwood Slow Decay while travelling 4.1 miles at 15.5 mph for 13.56 minutes & burned 197 calories. Nice & easy today.
~~~~~~~~~~
7:30pm
Another short blog post today, I think. Didn't do much when I got home, other than shred some papers & dust my bedroom & bathroom. Hopefully, I'll get home early enough tomorrow to feel like pulling those rounded moldings off the bathroom walls ... gotta get going on that bathroom remodel!
~~~~~~~~~~
Today's quote:
interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient.
When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only
results."
January 11, 2010
2pm
It's been a good day so far, even though it started with my car not starting! The battery cable came loose of the clamp. Fixed it & good to go. I got 3 stores serviced & did some shopping at Trader Joe's. Got some yummy mini carrot cakes & had 1 for lunch.
Time for some exercising!
~~~~~~~~~~
3pm
I read another chapter in Torchwood Slow Decay while riding 5.1 miles at 17.5mph for 18.31 minutes & burned 246 calories. I also did my chair & resistance ring exercises. Need to rest a bit now!
~~~~~~~~~~
4pm
Well, as much as I like listening to Shepard Smith's spots on FoxNews, I have even more reason now not to watch this channel ... they've hired Sarah Palin as a commentator!!! WTF!
~~~~~~~~~~
6pm
I'm not doing much of anything this evening! Just don't feel like it! A new Make It Or Break It is on later, so will be watching that & hoping Anthony Starke will be in it. I guess I'll just read some fanfic & play a game until then.
~~~~~~~~~~
9pm
Time for Make It Or Break It. Not much of a blog today ...
Here's a quote:
January 9, 2010
10am
I'm a slow-starter today! But, we got the TVs switched. That was heavy work! Got the dvd players & digital cable boxes sorted & hope she won't want to move them again any time soon!
Did my chair exercises & resistance rings earlier. Going to rest a bit before I get on the exercycle.
~~~~~~~~~~
11:30am
Ahhhhh ... not sure if I'm crazy or not, but I've agreed to mod one of my favorite groups again. I was mod for about 3 or so years until last year when things were so crazy in my real life & I stepped down as mod and (gasp) actually left the group for a while. I really missed the guys (& the couple other gals) in the group so much I came back over the summer.
Working on some Glee fanart again. Cory Monteith. He's a cutie.
~~~~~~~~~~
12:30pm
Just finished the artwork:
Now to eat some lunch!
~~~~~~~~~~
2:30pm
Got some work done in the bathroom. Got the flat molding strips pulled from the walls & put in the garbage. Tomorrow, I hope to get the rounded molding strips removed. Then, I'll be able to fill in all the gaps & seams will filler/caulking of some sort & sand them down.  I need to pull the panel off the outside shower wall to get to the pipes & see what condition they are in & how much I should replace. Maybe by next weekend I can get to that.
~~~~~~~~~~
3pm
Got my exercycle ride in and read a chapter in Torchwood Slow Decay. Traveled 4.7 miles at 16.8 mph for 16.51 minutes & burned 225 calories. Not bad.
Finally caught up on all the surveys I received the past week. I'm trying to catch up on Sundays as I get so many. I'm waiting on several gift cards I send for using the points I earn doing the surveys. I just got a $50 iCard yesterday that I think I will use on Amazon. But, expecting 2 from Barnes & Noble in the mail that add up to about $50, too.
~~~~~~~~~~
4pm
Hung 2 big old pictures & the old pendulum clock after I cleaned the panel walls they go on. The pictures are of Chinese junks. My aunt Juanita loved collecting Oriental things. I'll take some pics tomorrow with my new camera.
~~~~~~~~~~9pm
Just finished reading several fanfics & now gotta take a shower before bed.
Here's a quote for the night:
Nature has no mercy at all. Nature says, "I'm going to snow. If you have on a bikini and no snowshoes, that's tough. I am going to snow anyway." - Maya Angelou
January 9, 2010
8am
Ah, another day begins ... slowly.
Getting the ingredients together to make another wallpaper some time today. Hopefully, after I clean the fish tanks. The hex tank is so filthy. Two tiny angelfish just can't keep it clean by themselves.
Just finished my low-empact chair exercises & resistance ring work.
I'm going to get the tvs switched around today. That will be fun ... not. Two of them weigh more than I do! But, my mom wants the console in here & the biggest "portable" in the craft room & the smallest tv is going in the closet as the back-up. Let's play musical tv sets! Ugh!
~~~~~~~~~~
9am
Time to clean the fish tanks! Break out the towels!
~~~~~~~~~~
11:30am
I am now so incredibly pissed off. Today was a definite reminder of why I HATE having fish. And, the Marina Aqua-Vac is a piece of shit that I wasted my money on. I'll probably be selling it on eBay or something soon.
My stomach is bothering me because I got so mad.
And, my wireless connection sucks again today! I hate that I have to piggyback someone else's just to get my mail to download or to visit some sites that have graphics on them! It sucks!
And, why the hell isn't it obvious that when one turns the TV OFF & puts some music on that one wants to listen to music. So, why does someone else put the TV back ON with the sound off! What is the purpose of that! I live with a fucking 5 year old in a nearly 70 year old body! Grrrr. And, THAT is what started pissing me off to begin with; the fish tank just escalated things!
~~~~~~~~~~
noon
Gotta eat something ... but, stomach says no ... Ah, La Creme yogurt (THANK YOU, BelAir! It's the only place in town that I can find it!) may help calm things.
Found the instructions to my breadmaker. Now I need to test the yeast ... it might be too old. Will have to buy more if it is. Want to make some bread tomorrow if I can find a recipe I want to make.
Finally starting to relax a bit. Had an almond butter & jelly sandwich on sprouted barley bread. Will have that yogurt now (raspberry!) & then I will ride the exercycle.
That was a nice ride & an interesting chapter to read in Torchwood Slow Decay. I travelled 5.3 miles at 16.4 mph for 18.40 minutes & burned 253 calories. Not bad.
~~~~~~~~~~
1:30pm
AGAIN, I say ... do you not realize popcorn is corn! Quit asking me if I want any!
~~~~~~~~~~
3:30pm
Just finished creating a wallpaper of Misha Collins. He's such a cutie.

~~~~~~~~~~
6pm
Damn. There was a big earthquake up near Eureka this evening. A 6.5! Shocker!
~~~~~~~~~~
7pm
Yay! I may have a taker for the queen-size bed! She's going to try to get some help to come Monday or Tuesday afternoon. Good. Now someone come get the fridge, too!
I've been reading lots of fanfic this evening. Some Supernatural, Mag7 & now Torchwood.
~~~~~~~~~~
9pmDid not get the TVs moved ... guess that is first on tomorrow's list ...
Gonna close up now ... still reading fanfic ... see ya!
January 8, 2010
8am
I finally got some artwork in last night while watching Supernatural. It's fanart for Glee star Chris Colfer. Click on the image for a larger image:
I have to service 3 stores today in Sacramento, but it shouldn't take too long. And, I'm going to finally close out my Bank of America accounts. Never liked that bank, but that is where my dad had his money, so added me to the accounts a couple years ago. But, there's less than $200 in there now & they are whittling the checking down to nothing with their monthly fees! So, moving it to my USBank account.
Oh, you have got to read this story. I was almost bawling by the end of it. Trees are so important in our lives & this one has such a history.
"this story is heartbreaking & incredible: 240 yr old elm loses fight to survive after 101 yr old caretaker grows frail http://bit.ly/7AfVOp "
~~~~~~~~~~
11am
Well, I was very bad. I didn't work today. Luckily, none of my stores are late, so doing them next week won't be a problem. I did go to the bank & close those accounts. Stopped at Dollar Tree & found 3 baskets for the doves to have replacement nests next month. Then I went to the local mall and wandered around in the ghost town for a while. I don't know how that place stays in business! There is nothing there! You could almost see the tumbleweeds.
Have a bit of a headache & my hip is really bothering me today.
Here's a cute vid for those whose cats try to convince them they don't like water (I've had several water-loving cats over the years):

We've had several "unhealthy for sensitive people" days in a row here. The fog is holding all the pollution down in this valley. No wonder I haven't been wanting to work ...

noon

It's raining! It wasn't supposed to rain until next Tuesday down here in the valley. Good. Maybe it will clear the air.
~~~~~~~~~~
1:30pm
Well, it didn't rain for very long, sadly.
I must ride the exercycle now!
I read a very long chapter in Torchwood Slow Decay while travelling 6.3 miles at 17.1 mph for 21.42 minutes & burned 302 calories. I'm wore out! Luckily I already did my low-impact chair exercises, & resistance rings earlier.
~~~~~~~~~~
2pm
Time for a cookie snack. Just did 5 counter push-ups while heating them. Now to make some art of some sort ...
~~~~~
5pm
I think I want to scream. I was half-way through making an Anthony Starke wall & my PSP crashed ... afraid to open it back up in case it didn't auto-save ... will wait until after dinner ... hot wings & Texas toast. Yum.
~~~~~~~~~~
5:30pm
PSP failed to auto-save the artwork! AAARRRRGGGHHHHH! Fine. I'll make something different! So there!
Well, I made this Vintage Ezra fanart. Not exactly what I wanted to do, but it turned out okay.

~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
I just made the 2 wallpapers I made into Incredimail stationery. I am so out of practice in making stats! But, they turned out okay.
Gonna close up now.
January 7, 2010
2pm
Didn't work today. Had to get the DMV visit done to get the extension on the truck's registration. OMG! Today was not a good day to go. I forgot they are still closed on Fridays, so it was soooo crowded there! I think I was there for 2 hours. Luckily, the extension didn't cost anything. I have until March 4 to get the truck fixed now. Hope I can get it done this time & it will pass the smog test.
I went to WalMart, too & bought a new digital camera. It's a Kodak. I like the look of it, so hope it will do what I need it to as far as taking nice, clear shots of the stuff I am selling online.
Talked with my mom about the remodeling plans we have & the stages we will be doing it in. I think she understands now that doing full room remodels can't happen at one time because of the cost. She's one that doesn't want to wait & wants things all finished at once. Can't happen that way because of the cost & I am the one doing everything, so I have to learn about some of it first, which takes a while. Such as, I've never done tiling (except the final sealing stage when my cousin did his kitchen many years ago,) so I have to learn about it so I don't make a mess of things & make it cost more. Babysteps ...
Sadly, baby dove died today ... so took it and the rest of the eggs away so mama can start over.
Time to take a ride on the exercycle. I didn't read last night before bed, so can't wait to see what happens next in Torchwood Slow Decay.
Wow, I'm worn out! I travelled 5.6 miles at 18.7 mph for 18.58 minutes & burned 276 calories. Not bad at all. Now, I have to go move the old fridge to the deck & put the newer one in its place. My mom is almost done emptying the old one.
3pm
Have the fridges switched out. Got the freezer scrubbed on the newer one & my mom is putting stuff in there. I have to rest before I get the fridge part scrubbed & the outside of it. Listening to Henriette, my friend Inger's niece, on YouTube. I normally don't like the female singing voice, but she really is good. I look forward to her new covers. She has a future in music if she keeps at this. Here's her newest vid:
~~~~~~~~~~
4pm
The fridge is scrubbed & filled. I really like it. Everything is removable to wash. It's a 2006 Whirlpool.
Just finished my low-impact chair exercises, 5 reps with the resistance rings, & 10 counter push-ups. I really need to start working with the ab-doer again. Maybe tonight ... or this week-end. I need to get it into my daily schedule!
~~~~~~~~~~
5pm
Congrats to the Glee cast for their win last night at the People's Choice Awards. Didn't watch the show, but have seen the pics that Cory Monteith shared on Twitter. Very cool.
Here's the link to one:
Just downloaded Turbo Tax. Hope I can figure it out once I get my W2 & other papers I need ... I have always done my own taxes, but this one is going to be haaaaard with the new home, etc. I'm afraid I might have to pay someone to do them for me. I will hate that ...
~~~~~~~~~~
6pm
I really need to get my schedule working right for me. I'm going through Twitter & deleting some of those I'm following, but it's hard to decide on some of them. I really enjoy their tweets, but they are taking me far too long to go through each day. I HAVE to start working on my online businesses more seriously! I hope to have the craft room partly organized by the end of this month (we'll start sorting the stuff in the bins as to what will go straight to Goodwill, what will be saved for the Spring yard sale at Betty's & what will be sold online, this weekend.) And, since I bought the new camera today, I have no excuses not to list more stuff at Etsy or wherever online. So, tomorrow after I get home from work (I have 3 stores to service), I must start doing just that. Every afternoon, I need to list at least one thing or create at least one thing.
ARRRGH! When is my mom gonna learn! It's called NCIS! NOT NICS (she calls it nicks!) Drives me nuts! And, I don't even like the show! She does ...
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
Great. I'm not feeling good now ... Almost time for CSI, so I'm going to close up now.
Sorry, no quote ...
8am
I finally listed the extra fridge & queen set in the local freecycle group. Hope I get some takers! Need to get the porch straightened up soon so I can start filling bins with soil & planting seeds for the spring garden.
Just joined the trashnothing.com group, so if freecycle doesn't work, I can post there, too, if I can figure out the site ...
Baby dove is getting more active, so just might be a survivor!
Well, I promised you the vid clips of John Barrowman's episode of Around The World in 80 Days for Children In Need, but the darn things would not load in order, so I am giving you the YouTube links in order:
noon
Got 1 store serviced today & then went to a couple craft stores to price a few things (Michael's & JoAnn's) & to Walmart to price a new flag & pole, and a covered cart to pull behind my bike (they are made for kids, but I want it for groceries & Jorgy!)
Need to make a couple quesadillas for lunch now.
I finished reading Jonathan Livingston Seagull last night ... I didn't like it ... back to my Torchwood books today!
~~~~~~~~~~
2pm
Damn, that first chapter of Torchwood Slow Decay was long! I traveled 6.3 miles at 19.8mph for 20 minutes & burned 307 calories for another record while reading it! Whoooo. I'm bushed! And, sweating!
Time to catch up with my Twitter feed!
It's 2:30pm & I'm still catching up on Twitter. Lots of links to good articles.
I just did my low-impact chair exercises & added some exercise with the resistance rings while sitting here.
~~~~~~~~~~
3pm
OMG, my mom is going to try to use the exercycle again! Good.
Ha! She decided to copy me & read while she rode! She did 10 minutes! Yay!
~~~~~~~~~~
6:30pm
Finally caught up on Twitter & emails after dinner.
Sad to find out that John Barrowman lost out to Neil Patrick Harris for Gay Man of the Decade over at AfterElton.com It was a fun battle, which they both have been tweeting about the past few days. It was great exposure for them & for the site & got a lot of people talking in a good way about gays. Good stuff.
Oh, & John announced the tracklist on his upcoming self-titled album, John Barrowman. It's due out in February! Yay, birthday present for me! Here's the tracks:

Tracklisting:

When I Get My Name In Lights (from The Boy from Oz)
One Night Only (from Dreamgirls)
Copacabana (from Copacabana)
I Won’t Send Roses (from Mack and Mabel)
Memory (from Cats)
The Kid Inside (from Is There Life After High School?)
My Eyes Adored You (from Jersey Boys)
Don't Cry Out Loud (from The Boy From Oz)
So Close (from Enchanted) duet with Jodie Prenger
Unusual Way (from Nine)
You’ll Never Walk Alone (from Carousel)
The Winner Takes It All (from Mamma Mia!)
Oh What A Night (from Jersey Boys)

Annoyingly, there is another track that will only be available on iTunesUK - The Doctor and I (an adaptation of The Wizard and I from Wicked) which I love! (But, I'll track it down ... I always do if I want something bad enough!) You can read the announcement on his website:
http://www.johnbarrowman.com/news.shtml#johnbarrowman

There will be 2 episodes of Glee on tonight (reruns ...) so something good & fun to watch on TV!
~~~~~~~~~~
7pm
Love this vid of Burrito having a birthday feast today. He turned 27!
Learn more about Burrito & the rest of the Cle Elum Seven here:
7:30pm
Guess I will close up now & play a game before Glee starts.
3pm
Today seems to be a better day than yesterday. I got 3 stores serviced, went to the bank & the grocery store. I didn't get to the DMV, so will have to do that tomorrow (I forgot to take the papers I needed anyway.) I need to get another extension on the truck's registration ...
Baby dove seems to be doing great; has already nearly doubled in size & mama is very good with it & caught her feeding it before I left for work this morning.
Shocked that my mom says she got on the exercycle today! She hasn't been on it in about a year at least! Good!
I need to get on there once I catch up on my Twitter feed.
I have a slow connection again today ...
~~~~~~~~~~
4pm
I've decided I need to get a new digital camera ... just have to research & decide how much I want to pay. It has to be a decent one, since it is for my online work.
Just ordered some things from FlyLady's shop: a timer, a dryer kit & a stainless steel bottle. Been wanting those for quite a while.
I was a bit disappointed in Make It Or Break It last night ... Anthony Starke wasn't in it ... hope he is next week!
~~~~~~~~~~
5pm
Dinner will be a bit late, it seems. I bought pecan breaded trout fillets & my mom decided at the last minute that the breading would come off if she fried them, so she's going to bake them instead ...
Off to the exercycle to read chapter 2 of Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
I think I broke my own record ... 19.1 mph; 5.6 miles; 18.58 minutes; 271 calories!! I'm sweating a lot & dinner better hurry up! I'm not all that impressed by the book, though. I'll finish it tonight before bed, so I can start on another Torchwood book tomorrow.
~~~~~~~~~~
6:30pm
Dinner is done. It wasn't bad. Always love trout. The butternut squash risotto was interesting ... it was good, but it was too much. I'm stuffed. Jorgy got stuffed, too. She had some of my mom's trout (mostly the skin) & some risotto. She's rolling on the carpet in glee right now!
~~~~~~~~~~
7pm
I finally got a chance to watch some clips of John Barrowman from a guest spot he did on the Paul O'Grady show back in September when he was doing La Cage Aux Folles. It's in 2 parts:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCOIL7nLE9o
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSpWpwdGQmM
Sorry I couldn't embed them, but the uploader disabled that. It is a really fun interview.
~~~~~~~~~~
9pm
I've been watching these great vids from BBC's Around the World In 80 days for Children in Need from last November. I found the episode John Barrowman was in & I will share them tomorrow as the embed links are not cooperating with me tonight!!  Grr.

~~~~
Time to close up now!
Too tired to find a quote or poem tonight!
5pm
Today was a hard day. Traffic about killed me & stressed me out. It was a bad air day, too.
But, I got 2 stores serviced, as planned.
Just finished dinner. Wasn't that great. Whitefish with too much lemon sauce & spinach mozzarella ravioli with too much cheese sauce ... I'm not a sauce fan. But, my mom didn't even really like it ... so it must have been too much.
Had to throw one of the dove eggs out. Baby died during pipping. Have another one that is half-way pipped through the egg, so it might make it. Not sure if the other 3 eggs are viable ones, so will wait on those a few days.
Tonight Make It or Break It starts back up. Can't wait. Hope Anthony Starke has some decent scenes. He's the only reason I watch it! I'm not interested in the teenagers or the sports stuff!
I finished reading Torchwood Border Princes last night. That was a good story. I'm going to start reading Jonathan Livingston Seagull tonight. I can't do any exercises tonight, although I did do 5 counter push-ups when I got home. My breathing is just too "off" & my ankle is bothering me. So no exercycle ... :( Hope tomorrow is easier & a better air day. Have 3 stores to service here in Woodland. Need to go to the bank, the store & DMV, too ...
~~~~~~~~~~
6pm
I'm trying to make a cross-stitch pattern of my Shadowplay Foal design. But, this old PCStitch program is just not cooperating on my Vista computer. The symbols/colored squares will not fill the page the way I want. I can see it fine, but it may be too small for others, as this will be a design for sale. Will try again tomorrow.
Wow. Just did my chair exercises & it was actually hard! Really wore myself out working, I guess.
Just checked on baby dove. Poor thing is really weak & I had to take the rest of the egg off its head, so we'll see if it makes it. Mama is reeeeeal protective.
Trying to catch up on Twitter & my Firefox keeps freezing up! That hasn't happened in a long time (several updates ago.)
~~~~~~~~~~
7pm
Downloading some of the Torchwood radio plays that I hadn't saved when they were first released last year. Can't wait to listen to them again. Going to burn them to cd to listen to them in the car.
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
Checked on baby dove again & still hanging in there. Mama was off the nest eating & when I wiggled the nest from outside the cage to see if it was still moving, she rushed over to protect it! Good mama.
~~~~~~~~~~
9pm
Closing up to watch Make It Or Break It.
Here's a poem for the day:
Good Night! Which put the Candle out? by Emily Dickinson
Good Night! Which put the Candle out?
A jealous Zephyr -- not a doubt --
Ah, friend, you little knew
How long at that celestial wick
The Angels -- labored diligent --
Extinguished -- now -- for you!
It might -- have been the Light House spark --
Some Sailor -- rowing in the Dark --
Had importuned to see!
It might -- have been the waning lamp
That lit the Drummer from the Camp
To purer Reveille!
8am
Did not want to get up this morning, but did before 7, anyway ... I'm trying very hard not to have a migraine & not throw up ... so far, so good ...
Got my nails clipped & will do Jorgy's & Candace's in a bit.
Doing my chair exercises in a few minutes.
~~~~~~~~~~
9am
Breakfast done; critters fed; bathroom counter/sink wiped down; exercises done; critter nails done.
Travelled 4.1 miles at 16.3mph for 13.53 minutes, burning 197 calories & read 1 chapter in Torchwood Border Princes. I only have 1 chapter left as I read about 10 last night before bed.
~~~~~~~~~~
10am
Just brought in the boxes from the shed so my mom can put the Christmas stuff away. I'm going to research another old book to put on Etsy this morning. I think it will be Jonathan Livingston Seagull today.
I finally organized my bookmarks! Made lots of folders, so now I don't have to scroll down a mile to find something!
I am soooo loving John Barrowman being on Twitter!!
~~~~~~~~~~
11am
Forgot to mention yesterday that the Black Moor goldfish died.  Very sad. He was fine in the morning, but at dinnertime ... he was dinner ...
Have decided to actually read Jonathan Livingson Seagull. Never have all these years. This copy was my late aunt Juanita's, I think. So, it's next after I finish Torchwood Border Princes tonight.
~~~~~~~~~~
noon
Must eat now. I think I'll have the leftover chicken and rice. Did 10 counter push-ups while I microwaved it.
Got the JLS book listed; will decide on another one after I eat.
~~~~~~~~~~
1pm
Just listed another old book, about writing. I decided to have all my Etsy sales include free shipping. They didn't cost me anything, so it's not like it will hurt my profit!
My mom is finally starting to pack up the Christmas stuff. Guess I will go outside & bring in the outside decorations & then take down the window clings.
~~~~~~~~~~
2:30pm
Where did all this damn Christmas decoration crap come from!
~~~~~~~~~~
4pm
Still trying to get the Christmas crap put up. I am having to tie up the little branches on each limb so the tree will fit back in its box! Ugh! I still have to vacuum and move the stereo. So much for my last day off doing nothing physical before work starts tomorrow!
~~~~~~~~~~
5pm
Finally have all the Christmas crap boxed up for another year. It's all in the craftroom-to-be right now until I can straighten up the shed enough to fit it all in there ...
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
Watching The Birds on BBCA, so closing up now.

January 2, 2010

9am
Ach! I've got to eat something! I woke up before 7 this morning roasting. My mom had turned the darn heater on. My room always gets hot quickly.
Must change the walnut shell litter & clean the trays for the doves today. And, take the seed guard sheet off to wash. That is going to take a few hours this morning.
~~~~~~~~~~
11am
Just got finished cleaning the doves. Had to change the walnut shell litter & clean the grates (they are in my old 3x3x3 puppy playpen until I can get them a cage on wheels in the spring.) Put new sheets down under the cage & pinned around the bottom to cut down on wing-swept messes.
Work starts back up on Monday ... I so don't want to!!! I would rather list stuff online or make some new graphics, which I haven't had time to do much of on my days off ...
I really want to make a batch of cookies (Pumpkin Spice) & some bread (Pumpkin Cranberry), too ... but, my mom wants to rearrange her room now.
~~~~~~~~~~
noon
The queen-size mattress & boxspring are now on the porch with a FREE sign on them. Now, I need to eat something ...
I have so many bruises on my arms from moving all the furniture the other day, I just can't do any more! And, there is something in the air lately. I had to take an asthma pill today. Haven't had to take any since we moved here until now. I still need to do my exercises ...
~~~~~~~~~~
1pm
Going to bake now. Leave me alone! Quit bugging me to do other stuff I don't want to do!
~~~~~~~~~~
3pm
The pumpkin cranberry quick bread is done!! The first tray of pumpkin spice cookies in in the oven now. 3 more to go after that! Hope I can get them all done by 3:45, but I don't think I will. That is when Doctor Who starts. Don't want to miss a second! Going to get my exercises done now.
~~~~~~~~~~
3:30pm
Got my chair exercises done, my counter push-ups done & my exercycling done, along with reading another chapter of Torchwood Border Princes (really good story.) Travelled 4.4 miles at 18.8mph for 14.18 minutes & burned 211 calories! I was actually sweating!
~~~~~~~~~~
7pm
Doctor Who was fantastic! I'm really gonna miss 10! I wonder if Alonso will show up in Torchwood ...
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
Gonna close up early again.
Here's a cute pic to end the day: http://twitpic.com/wf3d6
January 1, 2010
10:30am
Hope everyone survived the festivities last night. I fell asleep about 11, I think.
Just finished riding my exercycle for 3.7 miles & 13.09 minutes at 16.3 mph & burned 178 calories. Also did my chair exercises. Off to scrub the shower.
~~~~~~~~~~
1:30pm
Got most of the shower scrubbed. Still need to do the glass door. Will have to be another day. I really need to get my 2010 work schedule onto the calendar & hope that it doesn't get totally screwed up in the first month.
~~~~~~~~~~
5pm
Just finished getting my schedule & paperwork set up for the year. Took over 3 hours ... but it is done & organized.
Time for dinner!
~~~~~~~~~~
8pm
Very short blog post tonight, it seems.
So, here's a nice poem:

I WANDERED lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
The stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee;
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company;
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth to me the show had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

William Wordsworth
