December 31, 2011

Well, it's New Year's Eve. But, already getting lots of greetings from those already in the new year. That's the annoying part of a round planet, I suppose! Haha!
Have so much to do today. Still haven't heard from Steven or Curtis about getting the furniture moved. Suppose it will be another few months before they decide to do it again ... I can't help after tomorrow. They knew I was off for two weeks ... grrr.
But, need to eat & then clean the doves' room, etc. before I start listing again. I still need to go to the store ...
And, Twitter keeps crashing/over-capacity/fail whale, etc.

Done with the doves' room. Damn Nikky got the sliding door open & she & Ezra charged the boy doves that were playing in the kitchen while I cleaned. Had to yell NO several times while herding them back into the living room and locking the door. My mom should have been watching them in there! The doves are fine, though. Going to rest a bit and then do my exercises. I haven't done any in about a week. I've been really lazy about it.

Gah! I feel so lazy today! Got to get to the exercises!

Whew! Did lots of exercises today. Still have a couple others I want to do and also adding back my chair & breathing exercises that I haven't done in months. Will do those after lunch. Want to make a smoothie for lunch, but my mom is taking forever to wash dishes & piddle around in the kitchen.

Still haven't gotten my lunch smoothie made ... got the ingredients out, though. Just not really hungry, yet.
I have decided to get back into the FlyLady again in the coming year. I kind of slacked off last year. I need to get back on track of some things, and her little hints and Flight Plans really do help. I turned my emails back on at Big Tent & may follow her on Twitter again. Wish she was on G+ ...

You know, I guess I really did take a lot of FlyLady stuff to heart in the past. I pretty much have all of this (below) done already & do it all regularly, except the 'go to bed at a decent hour' part!' And, the Control Journal. Never could get into that much. And, I am trying to forego shoes except when I have to work. That is following Daniel Vitalis' and David Wolfe's teachings. Getting back to the wild, sort of. I have never been one to go barefoot, but I'm trying and now just wear socks around the house.

"Today's Reminders:

* Morning Routine:
-Get Dressed to Shoes including Hair/Face, Brush Teeth
- Make Bed
-Swish & Swipe
-Empty Dishwasher
-Reboot Laundry (a Load a Day Keeps CHAOS Away)
-Check Your Calendar
-Check Your Control Journal

* What's For Dinner?

* Drink Your Water

* Declutter for 15 Minutes

* 15 Minutes of Loving Movement (exercise)

* Before Bed Routine:
-Lay out Your Clothes for tomorrow
-Check Your Calendar
-Put things needed for tomorrow at the Launch Pad
-Where are your Keys?
-Spend Two Minutes Clearing off a Hot Spot
-Shine Your Sink
- Wash face/Brush Teeth
-Go to Bed at a Decent Hour"

This is stuff to do every day.

Well, doesn't look like I'm going to get anything listed today ... but, I did get the rest of my exercises done! Need to make a smoothie, now. Carrot/apple/banana, I think ... have to make more almond milk, too ...

Going to watch more Longevity Conference. Only 2 more parts to go.

December 30, 2011

We have cloud cover this morning, so it's already 50F. Weird. It's the end of December! We've had freezing weather most of the month, as well as nearly every day being a bad air day. Luckily, that really hasn't bothered me this month. Breathing is pretty good now.

Have more Ceramics magazines to list today. But, I also should go to the store ...

I'll be going back to work on Mon. or Tues. depending on if anyone needs help on a reset on Monday. Viola is getting a list together of who will be helping who & when. Walgreens again. We just did a reset for them with new displays in October! This is more new styles and taking down discontinued styles ... oh, well, more money.

December 29, 2011

OK. Sadly, I failed to look on Snopes last night to check out the info on the battery hack. A friend checked it out, though. It's a fake. Bummer.
So, don't open up any lantern batteries.
Need to eat some breakfast and then get started on listing more Ceramics magazines. I have 6 years worth of them, at least. Jeanne had a subscription for years.

Got the Highlander Bloopers VHS that I won on Listia. Going to watch it tonight before I give feedback since it is not rewound. Want to make sure it's not damaged, etc.

December 27, 2011

December 26, 2011
Finally got to the mailbox for the first time since Wednesday! Got my Criminal Minds season 6 dvd set that I won on Listia. And, my gift from the BlytheRawLive show for being one of their best fans. :) Got a bunch of raw organic chia seeds, & several organic Medicine Flower essential oils (lavender, lemongrass, blueberry & coffee. I think I'll list that coffee one on Listia, though ...)

Now, I have to help take down all the Christmas crap and pack it away for another year ...

Got all the decorations down except for the tree. Will probably do that tomorrow.

December 27, 2011
Getting the rest of the decorations put up. I just tied the tree up so it would fit back in its box. My mom is boxing up the ornaments. Then, I'll take it all & try & fit it back in the shed later.

Woke up with a bad headache, but it's almost gone. My mom turned the damn heater on at about 5 this morning & I roasted in my bed. She knows better! I've told her before not to turn it on before I get up.

Ugh. Only 6 days & work starts up again. Viola is already sending memos, though. I haven't accomplished anything again. Some vacation. And, still waiting for Curtis to call about getting the furniture moved.

December 25, 2011

Merry Christmas! Bah, humbug.
My mom and I have our half of Christmas dinner done. Just got an email from cousin. Guess turkey is NOT done yet. Now he says 3 or 3:30 ... grrr. I'm starving.

Curtis came over to say Steven didn't start to thaw out the turkey until LAST night!
I'm going to eat all the olives before the turkey is done ...

Well, they brought the turkey & it's not done cooking, so they took it back over to Steve's. It's too big for my little oven ... Maybe we'll eat at midnight ...
My biscuits are good. I just had one with lots of butter ...

Still waiting ...

OK. Dinner was good when the turkey finally got here. The guys just left.
Next week, I'll be helping Curtis move the last of Jeanne's big furniture out of storage finally. The 2 big wardrobes are coming here. And, possibly one of the big hutch/cabinets. So, the bird room will be rearranged again and possibly my office. I'm going to use one of the wardrobes just for my sale stuff, so it will all be off the floor. And, the hutch is going to be to display all my old dolls that I have stored in a trunk in my room.

Saturday, December 24, 2011

December 24, 2011

Well, it's Christmas Eve & I've been going non-stop all day.
Vacuumed the living/dining room/office & the doves' room. Did a load of laundry. Made almond milk. Made my baked apples dish. Cut potatoes for French fries for dinner. And, a bunch of other things. I don't want to do any more today!

I've almost made the decision to start breeding doves again. But, not to sell. To eat. I know that bothers a lot of people. But, I've raised chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys & rabbits for my own food before. This is just on a waaaay smaller scale & they mature quicker. Been thinking about quail, too. Little Girl has 2 eggs right now that she laid 2 days ago. I usually take them away and give them to Nikky or put in the compost. May just let her raise them, but I would have to set the big cage up again, so they would have room for the nests instead of laying in the seed cup! And, I'd have to get another female for Little Boy ...

December 23, 2011

My mother is driving me nuts this morning!!! I really do wish I was totally deaf sometimes. Or that ear plugs really did block ALL noise ...
Gah! What a rude bitch!

Trying to get started early on listing things. I've decided to start charging for shipping on some things on Listia as an experiment. I tried it before, but it wasn't working out well the way I did it. So, trying again.

I'm giving away: If He's Wild by Hannah Howell. Check it out -

I'm giving away: Enjoy Your Tropical Fish Picture Book by Earl Schneider. Check it out -

Quick and Easy Patchwork on the Sewing Machine by Murwin & Payne - 1979 at QuinGem's Bonanza shop

The Quick Quiltmaking Handbook by Barbara Johannah - Quilting Books & Instruction at QuinGem's Bonanza shop

Time to stop and watch BlytheRawLive and chat with the folks there. It's a repeat, so Blythe will be in chat, too.

Bummer. They had technical difficulties and the recording kept stalling. Oh, well.

Surprising news - reversed their position on SOPA due to hundreds of members removing their domains and hosting from their company! That's great. But, they were still in on the writing of it. Soooo, still may move my stuff in the future.

I'm making tortillas for my other blog, but while in the kitchen I was also watching the birds on the deck eating. I scared most of the little finches that were eating on the table under the window when I stood on tiptoes to look out, but these 2 stayed until the scrub jay showed up.
Mourning dove in the hanging feeder, finch on the rail.
 Mourning dove.
 Scrub jay.
Mourning dove waiting for scrub jay to go away.
Back to listing things online while my tortilla dough rises.

I'm giving away: Bold and Beautiful Quilts #3778. Check it out -
I'm giving away: Patchwork Simplicity #3779. Check it out -

I'm giving away: Quilts Heirlooms of Tomorrow #3780. Check it out -
Guess I'm done listing for the day. Losing light in here. Tomorrow I'll be listing a bunch of purses that belonged to my aunt Jeanne. Have to research them. I know nothing about that sort of thing. And, have lots more craft magazines to go through. There are some images in them I want to scan before I get rid of them completely.

December 22, 2011

Mailed all of yesterday's Listia winnings. Then, since I was already in BelAir, bought more food!

I'm debating with myself about something I want to get ... a Gubler Flu t-shirt! Matthew Gray Gubler is selling one of his cartoon designs on t-shirts. It's so ugly, it's cute! I have the money in my PayPal ... I wanted it the last 2 times he had it available last month, but it kept selling out within minutes. But, he's going to have it available for 2 days now ...

I got the t-shirt! I used Bill Me Later! I'm so bad.

OK. Enough lazy days. I have to get things listed tomorrow!!! Been in the kitchen most of today doing stuff. Still have to make tortillas. Found the old recipe. Too late to start today, though. And, too tired.

Going to read fic and play games the rest of the day.

I think I need to go through my seeds this weekend & see what I have leftover. Then will know what else I need to send for from Landreth. I have some left from packets I've bought, but also seeds my mom & I saved from various things. I think some will be surprises since my mom can't remember what they were from!

Gah! I am disappointed to learn that GoDaddy supports SOPA. I want to move my stuff, but can't afford to yet. I just renewed my domains last month. My domains and hosting expire NEXT Dec. I will look into moving things soon. I don't want to support their acceptance of censorship, but really can't move from them right now. :(

December 21, 2011

Yay!! My oil check arrived. Waiting for my mom to get her grocery list made now.
And, I got a card from Darla with a picture of her & her family!! So happy.

Going shopping now! Fooood!!

Worn out. Went to Trader Joe's, Davis Co-op & BelAir. Still have a few dollars left, surprisingly! So much food I don't know what I want for lunch!

Damn North Wind is back. Blew out all the thick fog, but it's still annoying. I was going to do some things outside, but not now. Still need to refill the hummer's feeder, though.

All of today's Listia auctions are done. Need to get them all printed and/or packaged to mail tomorrow.

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

December 19, 2011

Well, this sucks. I go to bed last night thinking I have 2 stores to service today. I get up, and I don't. I hate when they change service times without telling us! So, my vacation starts today instead of Friday! Ugh. It would be fine except for the no money part.

Well, no excuse not to spend the next 2 weeks listing stuff.
Have to go to the mailbox & hope my oil check is there ...

OK. I'm upset now. No check. I'll have to call them tomorrow.
But, the tortilla press arrived. And, I'm not totally impressed with it. We'll see if it actually works later this week.
And, there is a chocolate-colored pigeon under my carport. I can't catch it yet. It looks like a former pet that has been attacked. It has maybe 4 tail feathers & patches missing on its body. Tried to coax it for about 15 minutes, but no catching it yet. It was able to get on the roof from the shed. Hopefully, it will make it to the deck on the other side where there's food and water & I might be able to corner it over there. Don't know. We have a very damp fog this morning, too. Poor thing looks water-logged.

I'm kind of depressed. Need to find something to eat that will get rid of that. And, take some more Vit. D ... Not going to have any income after Thurs. until my mom's SS arrives on 1/3 if I don't get that damn oil check. Need to pull the $40 or so from PayPal, I think. Must list more things on Bonanza or even eBay, I guess. Don't like eBay as a seller, though ... hmmmm
Viola did give me some good news about the company, but it probably won't make any difference until later next year (click on the NEWS link & see the first article: )

Need food ...

Well, nice surprise on my doorstep. Becky (the realtor) dropped off a calendar (she does every year) & homemade cookies! At least it wasn't wine again (we don't drink at all.) Having a chocolate chip cookie now!

What to list ... what to list. Guess I will go through the last batch of craft magazines I found. Hmmm ... looking at piles of stuff. No, I am going to organize this mess first. Fabric is going to get sorted and put in a bin and go in my closet temporarily. Going to clear craft shelves of it and put all sales stuff on those shelves. Then, I can get to my craft table! Yes. Will do that today. Gotta wash a bin out first.

OK. I've got a bunch of crafts magazines from the '80s & some nice purses separated to list tomorrow. Getting closer to my craft table, but not there yet! So much under that pile ... threw a bunch of stuff away. And, found Precious Kennels! Actually, all the info from when Quinn & Gemini were born AND their agility championship title certificates. After all these years, I'd forgotten that Gemini earned that, too. I thought she just had the CD (obedience title!) She was a dual champion. Always so proud of my little GemmaJam. Miss them so much.

That didn't take as long as I expected. I now have access to my craft table!! And, most of the stuff is separated easily for listing and mailing.

Monday, December 19, 2011

December 19, 2011

Damn. I can't believe this wind today. Thought I was going to get blown off the road on the way home! And, now, after cleaning the dog yard, I have something in my eye! Annoying.

I stopped at a discount ink store that I pass all the time, but had never been to. I bought ink cartridges there. And, they do refills for a pretty good price, so will go that route next time. But, I have a lot of printing to do soon & needed them now. I pass that store at least twice a month.

I just got a really cool pressie that I never expected (the best kind!) Gift card to a cool book site!

I'm cracking up. Our local news (Sacramento) is all aflutter over the power outages over at Candlestick Park in SF again. Poor fools can't see their football game! hahahaha! Happened first during the 5pm news & now again at the 6:30 news.

Waiting for a quilling book auction to end. Hope I win it. Once I get my office cleared and can get to my craft table I want to get crafting things again!!!! So much more to go ... but, at least I'll have the things I need for the crafts!

Well, bummer. The lister pulled the auction at the last minute. :(

I sure hope my check is in the mailbox tomorrow. Hasn't been this late in ages.

Sunday, December 18, 2011

December 18, 2011

Woohoo! I just sold a lot of vintage TV tubes! $55! Got to get them all safely packaged after lunch. My mom is always bugging me about all this old stuff I've kept, but she doesn't realize how much of it does sell eventually! Just have to have the right person look!

I need to get more stuff listed later, too.

Wow. That's interesting. Amazon does not accept PayPal/BillMeLater, but the US Post Office does? Was able to get the package paid for way less than paying at my post office annex by paying online. Still have to drop it off in the morning. It will get to a post office earlier than having them pick it up from here in the afternoon.

I am hoping to win a brand-new Criminal Minds season 6 DVD on Listia. Four hours to go ... gotta keep an eye on it.

Can't decide what to list next. Should be books. Have more of those than anything.

Auction: Celestial Address Labels

Auction: Cow Address Labels

I need to get more ink!! Hmmm. Don't think I can get to Fry's this week, so need to check online & see if I can find some deals.

December 17, 2011

Freezing my feet off. Just got home from the post office, OSH to buy some seeds & checking my mailbox. NO oil check yet!! I need that check! It's almost a week late. Have to clean the doves' cage now & let them fly around. I wanted to trim all the outside vines today, but it's too cold right now. The birdbath DID get partially frozen!

My feet are blocks of ice now. I got the bougainvillea vine trimmed back to the size of a small bush. Hope to keep it that size in the future. If it does not get totally killed by frost this winter. Tomorrow, I hope to trim back the trumpet vine and passion vine the same way.
The next project is making dog biscuits for Nikky. The sweet potato is in the oven now. The recipe will be on QuinGem's Quisine later today.

I am stuffed. Had a late dinner as it took longer than my mom planned when she started!
Going to listen to some more Longevity conference & play Minesweeper for the rest of the night!

Early night. Tired of freezing. Going to bed under my electric blanket and do crossword puzzles. And, I am beyond sick of Walker, Texas Idiot Ranger. All damn day ...

Friday, December 16, 2011

December 16, 2011

I didn't get out of bed until almost 8 this morning. Wish I was still there, but poor Nikky probably needed to go out.
So, I am running behind already this morning.

Ugh. I'm so lazy today. I listened to a podcast, then watched BlytheRawLive repeat from last week & chatted there. Making dinner in a crockpot & writing a post about that ... I still haven't had lunch, though ...

I've been playing Mahjong Titans on the computer most of the day! I had NO idea I had a Mahjong game pre-installed on this computer. I found it yesterday, after all these years!

Watched another part of the 2010 Longevity conference videos. Hope to finish over the weekend. 16 + hours. I've just been watching bits & pieces at a time.

Going to close up early to watch The Bishop's Wife. Love Cary Grant!

Thursday, December 15, 2011

December 13, 2011

It's been a nice morning, so far. Even though the rain woke me up at 5am. It didn't rain long, but I couldn't fall back to sleep. I still stayed in bed until 7, though! It was warm under the covers!

I found beef heart at my local co-op. I bought a new cord for the lamp that I broke the plug on yesterday. Will be fixing that after lunch. And, I bought seeds to send out with some of my Christmas cards that I am finally getting done this evening.

Going to have a Rocky Dog for lunch now.

Jane Fonda shared a link on Twitter to the full episode of the Rosie show that she was on Monday. So, will be watching that later. Hope to find the Donny & Marie ep from Tuesday.

And, my mom decided to stop taking Lasix (aka Furosimide)!! Yay! I never wanted her to take it. I think it was prescribed off-label, anyway. I told her not to take it when it was first prescribed a couple of years ago. To me, it will always be the crap given to racehorses so their lungs wouldn't bleed during a race (don't know if they still do that, but they used to.) Anyway. One less pill to make her feel like crap.

Got my lamp fixed. Love that old thing. One of the very few things of my grandma's that I kept. I still need to repair Papa's lamp. But, I need to sand the pole and repaint it. I might clean the base this weekend, though. I finally bought brass cleaner. I have everything to fix it, except a shade. Can't decide what kind I want. Need to go through old pictures and see if the lamp is in them to see what kind it used to have.

Just clipped Nikky's nails. She is licking on a broth & cheese icee right now. She was very good. Didn't squeal or wiggle at all.

Now to sneak up on Ezra to do his nails. That will be a bloodbath. I'll probably have to sit on him again. Seriously ... :(

Well, I tried something different with Ezra this time. Got his front paws done with barely a wiggle. No screaming; no clawing. Will do the back paws later after he calms down. He was very tense. He was very good when he was smaller. But, now it is a real challenge. Hope to get him back to the way he was before. He is huge, so I don't want to be fighting him twice a month for the next 10+ years.

I have an apple dish I want to make if my mom would ever get out of the kitchen!

December 13, 2011

Arrgh! 29F! Hmm. Will have to check a few of the plants outside later. Supposed to get up to 55F later. Rain tomorrow. We'll see.

Well, I am off the rest of the week as I am all caught up on all my stores! Don't have to work again until Monday. So, I really need to work online, but first I am going to start the rearranging in my bedroom & do the rest of my exercises before lunch.

Nikky is driving me nuts. Her new thing is to sit on the back of the couch and growl while looking outside. Don't know what she is seeing out there.

Ugh. Wore myself out rearranging my bedroom. And, it's only half-done. But, at least my bed, computer & TV are pretty much where I want them. I broke the plug on my vintage table lamp, so I have to get a new plug-end tomorrow.

Twitter just crashed ... hate when that happens. And, where is the Fail Whale? Just has the little Twitter Robot thingie image ... :(

Found a cool website that I'll be spending ages catching up on the information. Got it from a David Wolfe link on Twitter:

Twitter is still down & now showing the Fail Whale ... But, I finished watching another section of the 2010 Longevity conference. Have 3 more videos (about 6 hours) to watch.

I'm sad that I missed the past 2 days of The Rosie Show. Monday was Jane Fonda & last night was Donny & Marie! Can only see clips on Rosie's website. Somehow, they have locked down pirating of full episodes. Can't find torrents anywhere! Can sometimes catch the repeats of the week on Saturday, though.

Yep, Twitter is definitely down. They have a note on their status site ...

I'm loving the Landreth Seed catalog. Love all the old pictures of their catalogs from the 1800s. And, all the heirloom and vintage seeds. I'm definitely going to order Cherokee Purple tomato seeds, among several others. So many to choose from! This catalog is a keeper, for sure. And, I found them on Twitter! Going to follow them.

OK. This is one of the few Criminal Minds that I don't really like ... not a boxing fan & not enough Spencer. Plus, they are trying to pair Hotch up with some gal. Ugh! Hotch belongs with Spencer!! ;)

Got my MagicJack Plus hooked up. Can't figure out if the 911 address is attached to it, though. Will double-check it all tomorrow.

December 12, 2011

Freezing again this morning! My fingers are numb. Only 31F again. Hey, that's below freezing! ;) I guess the birdbath is protected by the big lavender bush, since it is still not frozen. It was in another spot last winter and did freeze quite often.

Huh. I guess Martin is having trouble with his phone. Lucky me. The underground access to the ATT phone lines are in my yard. So, the phone man has the big cement lid removed and all the lines exposed. I have to leave now ... Have to make sure my mom knows, so Nikky won't get out if he comes to the door again.

I've been home an hour & that guy still hasn't come back to put the cover back on those phone lines! Grrr.

I finally got the Landreth Seed catalog I ordered several months ago. It's beautiful. I hope to buy some seeds from them. They've been in business since 1794! Wow!

And, my new Magic Jack Plus arrived. Will hook it up tonight. Now, I can turn my computer off when I want to & still have phone access! Yay! I hate leaving the computer on so much when I'm gone or at night.

Had to clean up some rubbery crap around that ATT box. Guy didn't clean up after himself.

It's supposed to get down into the 20s in the morning. Hard freeze. According to the Weather Channel desktop thingie I have.

December 11, 2011

It's been a nice day. It's 58F right now. But, the wind is back, so didn't do anything outside when I got home.
I'm starting to really research 3-wheel bikes & also electric scooters. I want both, but will only be able to get one-at-a-time. I just paid off my Bill Me Later account, so can start looking seriously & comparing prices, etc. Hope to get one this month or next. If anyone knows of good ones or has used them, let me know.

Damn. I need to get Christmas cards done! Where has this month gone, already! I can't mail them until Thursday, though. Need more stamps.

December 11, 2011

It is 31F. But, the birdbath is NOT frozen, which is a surprise. The mourning doves were using it this morning.

My mom says Ezra's new bad habit is that he jumps on the stove to sniff what she's cooking. Wonderful.

My hopeful plan for the day is to list some things online. Without interruption. Yeah, right ...

Yay! Getting some listings done!

December 10, 2011

Got up late this morning! 7:30!
Have to clean the doves' cage today & let them fly around, then vacuum that room. Moving all my exercise equipment in there. My bedroom is too crowded.

For some reason, we've been having a string of bad air days this week. Today is the worst. Happily, I have not been affected as in the past!

Just got back from Steve's. He called earlier, being a bit secretive, asking me to come over. I was very surprised when he gave me $100 as a Christmas present! I thought I would collapse from shock. I have NEVER gotten a present for Christmas from him or Curtis in my life (that wasn't a family gift his mom bought when we were kids.) And, he asked if we would have Christmas dinner together like at Thanksgiving. He wants to make the turkey in his new stove he's installing this week. I'm stunned.

December 9, 2011

Swept and wiped down the carport door entryway and stairs. Putting Christmas decorations up next. Will take pictures when done. Tomorrow, I'll do the front door on the other side of the house.

Took my mom this morning to the clinic to reschedule that appt. that was screwed up before. She's going to get her lab results & then get her records. The appt. isn't until the end of next month. So, that will give me time to hopefully figure out if we can find a naturopathic or holistic doctor that will be covered by Medicare & Partnership ...

OK. I ended up decorating both doors. I'll take pics tomorrow.
Going to put some nuts to germinating for some recipes I want to do tomorrow.

Wow. Just got a surprise email from the gal we got Bruno & Ezra from. Just wondering how they were doing. I sent her the pic of Ezra & Nikky having their trout treat! ;)

December 8, 2011

Worked with Viola today & she finally remembered to send in my raise request! She was supposed to have done it in September!
Just got finished making some almond milk & then getting bottles sorted and put in the car to take to recycle tomorrow. Going out to pull some weeds in a few minutes. Also, have a load of wash running.

December 7, 2011

Just got an offer for Magic Jack Plus. I ordered it! I don't have to leave the computer on to use the phone with it. It just plugs directly into the router with an ethernet cable. That's great since I have 4 ports in it. It should arrive in a couple of weeks. It is not in the stores until next month.

Great news in the mail. My mom will be getting $39/month more on her SS starting in January! That is a nice jump!

Well, I got the dead flowers and weeds out of the brick planter in front. And, stuck a couple of decorations in there. I'm hot! It's only 58F outside, but that warmed me up! Tomorrow will be a long day working with Viola on 3 stores. So, I don't think I will get any yard work done. But, hope to get some done Friday & then put the decorations outside on Saturday.

December 5, 2011

I hate cold weather. Every joint in my body is killing me. Especially my spine and shoulder and hips and knee and ankle ... And, what does my mom want. For me to climb in the step-chair and hang bead garlands from all the plant hooks ... I only got about half-done & said NO MORE! It hurt too damn much! I thought she was done with indoor decorations.

December 5, 2011

I haven't been in the mood for much the past few days. My mom has been on a Christmas decorating binge. I'm not. I'll be taking pictures later of her masterpieces.
The day did not start well at all! Car wouldn't start this morning. No oil showed on the dip stick. I walked over to Steve's to see if I could borrow the pick-up ... the Jimmy was broke down in the driveway, so couldn't get to the pick-up! So, I walked to the Bel-Air grocery to get a couple of quarts of oil & hope that was the problem. ($5/quart!!!!!) Put 1.5 quarts in & the car started right up! WTF! I know that couldn't have been the whole problem. But, it ran fine to go to Dixon to service a store & come home. Steve just left. He worked on the Jimmy all day to get it running (he actually has a driver's license now!!) He checked the car & couldn't find where it is leaking oil from. But, he brought me some more oil, just in case. He said it just might have been cold, too. But, I've never had a problem starting it in cold weather. We'll see if it keeps running through the week, though. I have a lot of stores to do this week & working with Viola (manager) on Thurs. So, hopefully, I won't be resorting to the bus, yet!

My back is killing me from that long walk in the wind this morning.

Just took pics of all my mom's decorations. Most of this is just the stuff we've collected in the past 2 years that we've lived here! We didn't even pull anything out of the Christmas barrels to decorate. Maybe next year.

December 1, 2011

I can't believe it is December! The year is nearly gone. :(
I hurt my knee yesterday. Pulled something, I guess. I've done it before, but it's been a while. Should be fine in a few days, though. Just hurts to get up & down from my footstool I use for work.
As expected, I made no money at all this week from FGX. But, my mom gets her SS deposit tomorrow. So, that's good. Have to pay bills before work. She wants her stupid vacuum cleaner repaired with part of the money. It was Jeanne's vacuum (have no idea what's wrong with using my old vacuum that actually works.) But, noooo. Let's pay more to fix a vacuum than it costs to buy a new one ... ugh!

Wow! The winds in southern CA. are ridiculous! 140mph in some places!

just have two stores to service tomorrow that have easy resets (Staples.) So, hopefully, the wind will die down & I can do some work outside. And, PLLLLLEEEAAASSSEE let me get some things listed online with no interruptions!

November 30, 2011

Wow! The wind is not letting up today. The freeway was scary. And, I got hit by a little rock! Now, I have a nick in the windshield that I am sure is going to spiderweb. Luckily it is low near the dash, so hopefully it won't crack high enough that I'll have to replace it. Haven't had a crack in a windshield since Florida ...
I got one store serviced & then went to the co-op. I love that place! I got coconut kefir & MSM & told my mom she has to start taking them. She was fine with the kefir, but she is not sure about the MSM! It tastes awful! But, if she wants off all her Rx pills, she needs to deal with it! It is one of the best ways to get sulphur back into your system, which is very much necessary for a lot of different functions.

I haven't even had lunch yet. I was going to skim the fat off the bone stock & fry a couple eggs in it ... but, my mom said she's going to make some biscuits, so I'll wait for a couple of hot biscuits made from scratch!

I think my Twitter exploded. I'm thinking it's Ed Begley, Jr. He was tweeting a LOT last night ... Hmmm. I'm afraid to look. I just started following him again recently. Yep, it was him. I had over 300 tweets & I think half were his! Oh, well.

Don't forget, you can also follow me on Twitter & Google+. I don't always share the same stuff on my blogs.

I can't believe this wind today. Sacramento had some huge trees come down on homes and cars.

Wind is still wild around here. Hope I can sleep. It was a pretty day otherwise. If it hadn't been so windy, I could've worked in the yard!

November 29, 2011

I feel like crap. My head is still hurting, my eye is still blurry. So, I still can't drive. I have figured out during the night (barely slept!) that it is most likely a sinus infection & not a real migraine. Just happens to be in the same place my migraines usually hit ... so going to do some work with the Neti pot later & hopefully clear it out of there. Even my ear feels blocked.

Done with my exercises. My headache seems to be backing off. I still need to use the Neti pot & hope that helps.

Well, my mom's new (vintage) coffeepot arrived via UPS. Nikky went NUTS when the truck parked in front of her window! The coffeepot works, thank goodness & my mom likes it (shocking), so will be able to give good feedback to the seller. I gave the box to the kids to play with & here is the scene:

November 28, 2011

Well, migraine hit hard last night. Still hanging on this morning! No work, since I can't drive. Feel like I need to throw up ...

Gee, someone has a headache. What should we do? Put CHLORINE  BLEACH in the laundry ... AAARRRRGGHHHH! And, scream at the cat.

This day is going to go well, I see.
Severe migraine all day that has not let up! Will have to investigate why I'm having them so often again. I don't want to get back to being nearly bedridden by them like I was for years at the apartment ...

Watched & listened to David Wolfe all day. Interesting stuff & lots to take in. I found his 2010 Longevity conference on a torrent. Watched the first part (it's 10 parts that covered 3 days of information.) I will take my time watching all of it. He has this year's conference on his website, too. So will watch that later on.

I hope my migraine is gone in the morning. I HAVE to work! I'm not going to have a check next week at this rate!

November 27, 2011

I'm not doing a damn thing other than listen to more Daniel Vitalis interviews & clean more files from this computer today. Even after defragging it is still running a bit slow.

Blew up at my mom, so she's hiding in her room now. She started in about all the things to do today, which I do not want to do. So, she's pouting about it.

I'm crying a lot today. Something I rarely do. I'm so frustrated about so many things right now.

Realized part of my problem the past couple of days. Crap food. After more than a month of eating organic, real foods, I have now been eating food of unknown origin made by others with unknown ingredients. I also have a stress headache starting. The bad food will be gone today.

I've listened to all the Daniel Vitalis interviews on One Radio Network & now about half through the David Wolfe interviews. So much good info!!

Damn. I missed the first hour of Becoming Chaz on OWN. I did not know they were going to re-air it before Being Chaz! Good thing I found a download of it, which is nearly done now. I'll watch it again later to catch the first hour. Oh, I Am Jazz is on after. Saw her on Rosie. Such a cutie.

November 26, 2011

Time to let the doves out & clean their cage. Then, I have to try to repair the old gravy boat and a few other things. I'm defragging the computer right now, so hope it will be close to done when I am! Probably won't be done by noon, though. A lot of files for it to go through. Haven't done it for a few months.

I want to cry. I've had 10 days off and haven't gotten anything done that I wanted to do for me. I didn't work on my websites, or get anything new listed in my stores, or garden, or clear the area in front of my craft table or get any new work done in my bathroom or catch up on Daniel Vitalis' interviews & seminars or burn anything off of this computer to make more room! Everything I did was for other people that I really didn't want to do this week. What have I been doing all morning? Gluing broken china animals & ceramics. And, moving fucking fish tanks - AGAIN! I'm tired and my shoulder is bothering me now. And, she wants to move another fish tank tomorrow. WHY!? And, that will be the end of my days off until Christmas week. This sucks! Now, I've got to eat lunch. Computer is still defragging.

I've been listening to Daniel Vitalis' interviews for the past couple of hours. Very relaxing & informative stuff. I told my mom I was going to listen to it on the big speakers (& not my earbuds) & to turn the TV off. She listened for about an hour & got bored & went to her room! Ha!

November 24, 2011

Why can't I have 1 day that doesn't start with complaints or 'I need this ...'? Ezra broke an antique fish-shaped gravy boat last night. And, she needs lancets & strips for her glucose meter. Neverending.
I've only been up about 20 minutes. Slept later than usual. Yesterday was tiring.
I need to eat, then package up the Listia winnings to mail today.

Well, this ten days off kind of sucked. I didn't get anything listed online like I planned. Will try to list a few things today & over the weekend, but I won't get everything up that I wanted to do.

Deviled eggs & pumpkin pie with whipped cream for lunch! Not good, but they need to get eaten before they go bad!

I've been trying to catch up surveys for the past 2 hours. Still have 79 left in the folder!!!! I've never let myself get this far behind. Hope it won't happen again. So many were expired!

OK. I am out of lemonade. Cutting my tea with tangerine juice is not good. Ick.

I got all my surveys caught up finally. Watching Criminal Minds reruns now.

November 24, 2011

It's Thanksgiving ... big whoop. It is pouring rain, so I can't put my flag out for the day. I LOOOOOVE rain. We needed it, as usual. I have the blinds open on all the windows to watch it.

Ezra likes yogurt!

Got all the food from the turkey kit tranferred from their plastic & aluminum containers into Pyrex & Corningware. Will start cooking in about an hour. But, I have the table all ready for when it's all done:
I am surprised my camera is actually working today. I was clumsy a lot yesterday. I dropped the camera hard. I also dropped my milk pitcher which was half-ful of almond milk. Ezra & Nikky loved licking that up off the floor before I could get the towels down to clean it!

I already made a double-batch of almond milk this morning. Luckily, I had enough almonds done soaking overnight.

Well, the guys have arrived with Levi & he's already peed on the floor ... and, they brought Pepsi & Steve smells like cigarettes ... nothing new there.

Curtis, Levi & Steven.

We had our Thanksgiving feast about 2 hours ago. I'm still stuffed, but will have pie in a little while. The guys & Levi just left. I just got done cleaning up after the mess Levi left on the deck. All the leftovers are stowed in the fridge. We gave them half of what was left. Here's a pic of the feast before we dug in.
Curtis admitted before they left that he's realized we're the only relatives left that he will talk to. I kind of had that feeling when they asked to have Thanksgiving with us.

November 23, 2011

How can someone complain the minute they get up! Gaaah!!

It was so peaceful in here for an hour; now it's noisy.

I follow a pediatrician (really!) on Twitter, Jay Gordon (@JayGordonMDFAAP) as I agree with a lot of his ideas on health. Anyway, he actually recc'd fanfic this morning. I was very surprised! It was a Mythology fic on, but I thought that was cool.

Replaced a couple of burned out light bulbs this morning. Then, did my exercises. I need to vacuum now before I make another batch of almond milk. I'm also going to start some sunflower seeds in the sprouting trays since the alfalfa sprouts are done now (ate them & gave some to the doves over the past few days.)

Have a bunch of auctions on Listia ending today that I'll be mailing on Friday. I should go to my mailbox since I haven't gone since Monday, but too busy today cleaning and after I eat, I need to make my date snacks for tomorrow. My mom just finished with her deviled eggs. Then, we'll make the ambrosia.

My mom made a sandwich with the leftover deviled egg filling & gave some to Ezra. He loves it!

Just saw my 2 male Broad-tail hummers at the feeder. Hadn't seen them since the male Anna's has been around, so a couple weeks at least! Was thinking they had moved on or something. Hope the 2 females are still around.

Snack trays are done! Will take pics later for the other blog.

I really should be catching up on my hundreds of surveys that I am behind on and losing money on (they expire too quickly sometimes ...) but I am just not in the mood.
