These cold mornings are going to be a real challenge for me this year, I think. I do not want to get out of bed. I have got to get some insulation in this place. It has next to none. So, I think I need to at least get the windows covered today. I hate that they will be completely covered and not be able to look out, but I need to keep the cold out more than anything. Can't risk getting sick. Other than that, I need to get some dishes washed and work on my eBay and Mercari listings. Nothing else is really pressing. So, we'll see if I add anything else to be done today. I usually do as the day goes on!

9am

Fed the chickens; walked the property. I picked up 3 pieces of trash ... plastic, old cigarette butt!, duct tape wad ... where does it all come from! And, I'm back in bed! I've got to get in gear at some point.

I'm up!!

Dishes are done!

Found a 1950s blender cookbook in one of my piles of books. Lots of good recipes, but, alas, the ones I like I don't have all the ingredients for.

Noon

I'm going to make puréed rice and mackerel for the critters. I know the dogs and the hens will love it ... not sure if Scotty the cat will. We'll see tonight! 

That's about 2 cups of white buttered rice, 1 large can of mackeral and 1/2 cup of gelled meat broth. The smell brought the cat in from outside! Of course both dogs were underfoot. They have to wait for dinner-time, though.

I'm not too hungry, so just having some beef jerky. I think I'll make some lemonade, too.

Well, I won't be covering the windows today. All of the reflectex that was left in the basement ... whoever cut the pieces was blind or something. I might be able to cover about half the windows if I tape some of the pieces together. I'll start on that project tomorrow. I have to move a lot of things to get to the windows, too. So, I'll work on it all week to get it done.

Chickens fed. They gobbled up their mackeral dish. :)

Hot chocolaate for meeeee ...
