December 31, 2013

It's your last chance to get anything done in 2013!! ha!
It's been really cloudy all morning, but it's not supposed to rain. So, it might clear up and hopefully warm up a bit so I can paint this afternoon. I just got back from Home Depot. Had to get more paint brushes and a couple of other little things.

And, beginning tomorrow, I am a criminal. And, so is anyone else who refuses to join in on the US deathcare plan pushed by the government and their BigPharma buddies.

I don't really do New Year's Resolutions. I have ideas of what I want to do, but it's not really resolved that I will get to them! haha! I want to finish painting the house inside and out. I want to get the lights in the kitchen replaced. I want to re-do the flooring in the house. I want to get the patio stones leveled. I want to get my website finished. I want to pay all of my credit cards off and get rid of them. I want my mom to stop complaining about everything ... I might get some of those done this year. Maybe.

Wow! I just watched the fireworks from Dubai! That was amazing synchronization. They set off over 500,000 fireworks in less than 6 minutes, trying for a new Guinness World Record. I think they made it!

I got a bit of painting in today. The wind is picking up - again! What is with all the wind lately! So, I climbed on top of the air conditioner unit and did the middle of the wall ...

Butternut squash soup with bacon for dinner! Yuuuuum!

New batch of kefir fermenting on the counter.

My weather channel app is really screwing up lately. I just uninstalled it, then went to their homepage and downloaded it again. And, it still won't work!

I have some of the most inconsiderate neighbors on the f'in' planet. My damn floor is vibrating because they have their music so loud! I can't even hear the TV or the music I have on (at a normal level!) And, my mom can't even go to bed like she wanted to. I'm getting stomach ache from it ... I wish I was the kind of person who could call the cops on them, but I am paranoid about repercussions ... apparently no one else is brave enough to do anything either ...sucks ...

OK. Time for some tea, some valerian and ear plugs ... anything to keep me calm. Trying to listen to an old BeeGees concert ... but, it's getting drowned out ...

Hmmm. I don't want to jinx it, but where'd the noise go ... all my critters are fed & in bed and I've got all the lights off in here. Maybe they took a hint. But, all their lights are still on in their carport where they were blasting the music, etc.

This BeeGees concert is fun. Robin and Maurice looked so healthy then ... it's from 1989.
And, I've taken TWO valerian caps. Calm. Hope it stays that way.

I've got to watch this concert on the big TV tomorrow. My mom was a huge fan of theirs, so she should enjoy it, too.

December 30, 2013

I got up an hour late today! Gotta run to the co-op.

Having 2 rashers of bacon and a chicken apple sausage for lunch. Mmm.

I'm also still sticking to the potato starch every day. I'm up to about 1.5 tablespoons with no discernable side effects. But, I do think my sleeping is deeper.

I only painted for about an hour. I didn't feel like doing any ladder work, so I painted the lower part of the wall.
If I don't feel like using the ladder tomorrow, I'll do this section to the right of what I did today. If I do ... I'll do the upper part like I had planned for today ...

I got the latest copy of The Vine (my Co-op's newsletter) in the mail. I'm hoping to take an Intro to Kombucha class from them next month - gotta set $7 aside ... And, I'm thinking of joining the craft circle they have twice a month ... don't know if I will be able to ... but, I really want to start doing those things ...

December 29, 2013

I did it. WooHoo!!!!! I now have one side of the house painted gray!
I start on the backside tomorrow if all works out!
It's hard to tell with the shadows, but this side is still that disgusting green color.

I forgot to mention the other day, the noisy neighbors had a theft either on Christmas day or the day after. TVs and even their car! Cops went door-to-door asking if anyone heard or saw anything. To be honest, they are normally so noisy, I would not have noticed anything different ... but, I guess they had gone out of town ...

December 26, 2013

I did it! I painted the section above the shed! It was much easier than I thought it would be. I got on the shed roof and was the perfect distance to paint it all.
I will finish tomorrow! Then, this weekend, I'll start on the back wall! Finally!
Once I am done with all the gray, I'll go around and do all the red trim on the eaves. I still can't decide if I want to paint the shed roof ...

December 25, 2013

I got up near my normal time today. So, I guess yesterday, I just really needed that extra sleep.

Water with potato starch to start the day.

I am so cold this morning. I did not turn on the central heat. I am using my little space heater right now. I bought us a new upright space heater for this room, which I'll set up after my mom comes out here. Our other one died last year. I really want to get one that looks like a fireplace with mantle and probably will at the end of the season when they go on sale so we'll be ready for next year!

I really hate using the central heat, which is gas. I hate using gas for anything in the house. The smell makes me sick (that additive they have to put in it) plus have bad memories of an uncle blowing up his house and killing one of their cats ... So, I avoid it as much as I can. I won't even cook with it. I bought electric, portable countertop oven and stove earlier this year.

Got the new heater running. Stinks. It will for a couple of hours, until the 'newness' burns off.

Having Numi Chocolate Puerh tea. With milk. Yum! I need to get a nice kettle to use on the stove to heat my water. I have several old kettles, but they are more decorative than useful. Right now, I just use a Purex glass measuring cup in the oven to heat water for tea or milk (for hot chocolate!)

WooHoo! I just won a 16GB micro SD card on Listia! Took more credits than I'd like, but I need it. Hoping to bid on more, and a USB adapter.

More tea! Trader Joe's Cinnamon Tempest tea with milk next.

Watching season 1 of Ripper Street today.
And, more tea - Zhena's Gypsy Hazelnut Chai with milk now. :) Definitely a relaxing tea day for me! I have over 20 flavors to choose from in the cupboard!

My mom was going to start cooking the bird (a large organic chicken) which she's had thawing in the fridge for two days ... but, it is still frozen! haha! So, it is in water now and should finish thawing in a couple hours. She's getting everything else ready to cook, though. Seems we are having more than originally planned. Baked whole chicken (infused with bone broth via syringe!), homemade cranberry sauce, gluten-free rolls with lots of butter, homemade dressing (wild rice blend, millet, gluten-free croutons, apples, cranberries, olives, walnuts & pine nuts), milk, and homemade tapioca. Haven't had tapioca in years! Almost all of the meal is organic, too!
I'll post pics on my food blog.

Having Synergy Black Chia Kombucha with potato starch, and tapioca for lunch.
Mmmm. That was so good.

Next up - Zhena's Gypsy Firelight Chai tea with milk.

Ooh. We're going to use the fancy old plates. And, goblets. Nice.
The chicken is on and the rice mixture is on the stove. I think everything will be done by 4!

Nikky will be having chicken neck and liver.

With the 2 space heaters and the cooking going on, it's nice and toasty in here today. It's usually the bedrooms that are warm when I have the central heat on and we're out here in the living room freezing. Today, it's the opposite, as it should be!

My bad shoulder is still bothering me from painting the other day. But, tomorrow it will be more painting in the afternoon (after I go to the co-op for a bunny box and MEAT!) So, I may have to try to rub some arnica gel over it tonight.

We watched 3 episodes of Ripper Street. We'll watch the next 4 eps of season 1 over the next couple of days. Then, on to the final season. Sad that it was cancelled after only two seasons ... and, being a British show, the seasons are waaaaaaaaaay too short.

Time for some hot chocolate!

December 24, 2013

Wow! I think I am seeing some results from the resistant starch experiment! I didn't get up until NINE this morning! Two hours late! Poor Nikky! She had to wait until then to go out! But, I feel like I am behind in everything this morning. Fed the bunnies late. Cleaned the floor late. Went through emails and media sites late ... But, I got a lot of sleep, so must have needed it!

Gah, I still haven't even brushed my teeth. Gotta do that now.

My mom has everything ready for tomorrow's dinner. We're having a roasted chicken stuffed with wild rice blend, millet, cranberries, apples, walnuts, pine nuts, olives and gluten-free croutons. (Of course, most of it will be baked in a separate dish.) Gluten-free biscuits with lots of butter. Milk with potato starch.

She's making us bacon and eggs for lunch! Mmm.

I really don't want to paint today ... :(

Here's the pic of the wind chime I got from Zachary for Christmas.
Pretty good for a 4-year-old!! :)

This is me going out to paint ... hmm, don't see anything happening ... :\

OK. I got ready to go out and paint. I took Nikky out and it is windy! I did not know we were supposed to have wind today. It wasn't windy at 9 when I got up! So, I will not be painting until Thursday. That area is too risky between the shed and house to be messing around on a ladder and on the shed roof with any wind.

So, it's time to cross-stitch!

Having Synergy Black Chia Kombucha with potato starch for a snack. Still cross-stitching ...

We had fantastic Llano Seco pork shoulder steak rubbed with pepper jelly, with salad for dinner. And, Numi Honeybush tea with milk.

Just finished cross-stitching for the day. I think I accomplished quite a bit! Just have some black back-stitching left to do, so will have it finished by the weekend, I think. Then, I'll frame it and decorate the frame.

December 23, 2013

I went to the co-op this morning for the bunny box, milk and eggs and my hot chocolate.
I got the special visit to that store done and took pictures for my manager.
I've just been relaxing since I got home (other than cleaning and cutting the greens and putting them in the fridge - the boys are set for about 3 more days ...)

I got a letter from DMV about my Tercel not being insured ... the license will be suspended next month, yadda, yadda. It's parked and not being used. I'm not going to keep it insured ... grrr.

Also, got an approval letter about my mom's free phone! She qualified, which I knew she would. The phone arrived over a week ago. I think it's weird that you get the phone before the approval is completed ... but, at least it's done.

Oh, and I took pictures this morning of the painting I did yesterday,
and, where I hope to paint tomorrow.
As you can see, that part is going to be tricky with the shed in the way ...

Listening to another Daniel Vitalis interview!

Wow. That was a fun interview. All about time, seasons, religions, holidays. A different interview from his usual ones.

7 pm
Gah! What was I thinking! I made my hot chocolate with WATER! Bleh. I must have had tea on my mind ...

The best thing today is that I got a Christmas present from a cute guy. A hand-painted wind chime. It's hanging in the living room now. I've never met him, but he's always in my thoughts. As is his grandma and the rest of the family! ;) He's my best friend, Darla's grandson, Zachary. And, I found out that Darla is finally online!!! I can start keeping up with her and 'talk' to her after 30 years! I can't wait!

It's so great to finally be in regular touch with Darla! We've been chatting for an hour or so. Going to have some tea now.

December 22, 2013

Looks like it will be a nice afternoon to paint today. I just finished cleaning the floors and cabinets and now resting for a bit. Going to have milk kefir with potato starch, vanilla and maple syrup for lunch. I had water with potato starch when I got up this morning.

I got the painting done that I wanted to do! I got as far as the end of the awning (less about 2 inches as I didn't want to move the ladder again!) I'll take pictures tomorrow. I am tired. My bad shoulder was starting to hurt from reaching above me. Since I have to work tomorrow, I will be painting again on Wednesday. It is going to be really tricky to do, as the shed is so close to the wall. I'll most likely have to get on the shed roof to do part of it ... fun ...

I just finished foraging for the bunnies. They'll be having 'weeds' and sweet alyssum for dinner. I didn't want to use the gas to go to the co-op today just for a bunny box since I am going out tomorrow to work. I'll get a bunny box, milk and eggs in the morning on the way to work.

We are having chicken livers for dinner. I've never had them. I did not like calf liver, so I don't have real hope for this ...

OK. I was surprised. I kind of liked the chicken livers. I found a recipe for my mom that we had all the ingredients for and it was quick and easy: Chicken Livers And Apple Slices Recipe

Trader Joe's Ruby Red Chai tea with milk. Yum.

The boys love their dinner. I think they could live on sweet alyssum if I let them! And, to think, the past couple of years I have been fighting to get rid of that damn invasive flower! It won and the boys enjoy the spoils! I think they fill up on the wild plants more than the veggies from the store. More nutrition in less volume. They usually have their dinner completely gone in less than 30 minutes. They ate about half and are done & asleep and will be able to nibble through the night. I need to clip more weeds in the morning for their breakfast before I leave.

Time for some hot chocolate and another Daniel Vitalis interview.

December 21, 2013

It's another cool day, but at least the wind is gone! I really don't want to go outside, but I will ...
I finished cleaning cages and have the 2nd load of laundry in the dryer.
I have spent most of the morning since reading up on resistant starch. I write about it on my food blog. It's a very interesting addition that I think people would be wise to add to their food.

Just came in from painting. I'm cold. But, I got done what I had hoped to do today! And, done with working with the ladder on stairs until I get to the other side of the house.
I got all the area above the window and door painted.
I got as far as my bathroom window.
I hope to paint the areas around the bathroom and bedroom window as far as the end of the awning tomorrow afternoon.

Friday, December 20, 2013

December 20, 2013

It's still windy. As usual, the weather man was wrong! Hopefully, it will die down by noon so I can paint! I won't get on a ladder when it's windy. But, I may just start painting the lower part of the back wall, just to get something done if it hasn't stopped blowing.

I'll be going to the post office to drop off all of the packages and cards I got ready yesterday. I still have to find one more address for a card.

Whew! That wind is cold! Got everything mailed. And, got 2 nice cards from my 2 best friends! :)

Now, I need to clean all my rubber stamps that I used to make the wrapping paper last night. Except, now, I can't seem to find the cleaner ... I need to tear my bedroom apart, I think ...

Finally got around to checking what is wrong with my mom's upright vacuum. It's always something with that damn thing. Every time she uses it (which is rarely ...) she complains about it. This time it was a broken belt. Luckily, I had a spare (that went to a different vacuum we used to have) that fit. Works fine now. Until the next time ...

Still can't find the rubber stamp cleaner or the headphones ...

100 jumps on the trampoline!

Chicken legs for lunch! And, cinnamon tea.

Gah! All my mom seems to ever know how to do is complain! Ezra doesn't like this, he won't eat that, should just let the damn cat starve. Blah, blah, blah! Then, she complains that Nikky is getting fat ... because she gives her Ezra's leftovers! Grrr.

Listening to another fantastic podcast interview with Daniel Vitalis:

The wind did not co-operate. It didn't die down enough for me to go out to paint. So, I re-arranged my closet. Still didn't find the headphones, so I will just have to get another set ... Same with the rubber stamp cleaner ... :( But, my closet is organized and I got more things off the bedroom floor and put away. Found a few more things to list online when I get to them. Brought them out to my office. Now, to organize my office floor! I can barely move my chair.

So much for my 'vacation'. I have a special service visit on Monday for one of my stores ... grrr.

I got all of my mailing supplies organized in the wall cabinets in my office. Still have some stuff to organize that's on the floor. Took out two 4 gallon bags of garbage.

I joined a bunch of new swaps on swap-bot for the next month. Lots of crafting and de-stashing to come! But, I do have to be careful since the damn price of postage is going up AGAIN next month! .49c to mail a damn letter and .34c to mail a little postcard! Ridiculous!

December 19, 2013

Well, I got the new power supply in the mail. I put it into the computer and ... nothing ... I could not get it to turn on. So, I gave up messing with it and put the old one back in. Took a chance and pushed the button and ... it's on! Damn computer! So, I am not sure now if it is the power supply that's the problem! But, I am using the desktop again. I got all my auctioned labels printed, thank goodness. And, I've copied all my label images to a disk, so I won't panic about my graphics again if the computer acts up in the future. But, now I have an extra power supply that cost me over $60 ...
I am noticing that the computer fan keeps 'revving' occasionally since I turned it back on. It was never noticeable before.

Got some really good greens for the bunnies this morning and enough meat for the week. We're having baked Dover sole and a spinach salad for dinner.

All my auctions and sales are packaged to mail tomorrow. I still have to package a bunch of presents to send to WA. tonight. But, I need to finish making the 'wrapping' paper for all of them. But, I will have them ready for tomorrow. Don't think I will be able to get any cross-stitching done tonight. White Collar is on at 9, too. There's always too much to do ...

Also, waiting for my second load of laundry to finish drying so I can get that put away ...

I still need to get back into the laptop and forward some of the emails that I'd saved on there ...

Finally got all of the packages done. That took a while! And, I am beyond broke with all the shipping. My BillMeLater is maxed out completely! Sucks ... And, postage will be going up again in a month or so ... not good.

I got all of my emails forwarded and the laptop is put away again.

I figured out why the computer fan was revving. I had one of the vents blocked. Nice and quiet again.

I hope the North Wind is gone tomorrow. It really blew today. I really want to get some painting done tomorrow afternoon.

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

December 18, 2013

My vacation has started. Two weeks off. I go back on January 2, 2014.
I've been lazy since I got home. Listening to Sam Cooke music, cross-stitching for an hour, then watching Criminal Minds and CSI. Almost time for bed.

We're supposed to have a North Wind tomorrow. So, probably won't get any painting done. But, I do have to go to the co-op in the morning for a bunny box and MEAT. We're nearly out of food for us!

It is supposed to warm up to normal over the weekend. High 60s. So, I hope to get a lot of painting done in the next week.

I got some cross-stitching done tonight. I re-did the section that I had to pull out last night. In the right color!

This was dinner tonight: Beans, millet and ground elk soup. My mom was experimenting. It turned out pretty good.
One thing I am determined to do on my days off ... find my damn headphones! I hate using earbuds. They never fit right and fall out all the time and I can still hear outside sounds. Pisses me off! I am going to have to tear my room apart, but I WILL find them ... or buy new ones ... :(

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

December 17, 2013

Well, this day really didn't go the way I'd planned ... I only got one store serviced. I was in there forever ... doing a complete reset on a display. So, I have to work tomorrow and hope I get the other 3 stores done so my 'vacation' can start.
This morning before work, I went to the co-op and got more milk and a bunny box. I am not sure what is going on with the free greens situation ... but, the same guy that gave me barely a handful of greens yesterday gave me a bunch of moldy greens today. Not amused ... I can't get back there until Thursday, so the bucks will get some more 'weeds' and sweet allysum tomorrow which is what they had for breakfast. They'll get pellet kibble tonight. Plus, they always have organic hay.

I'm having some yummy Numi Honeybush tea with milk. Mmmm.

The address label auctions ended and I sure do hope that the power supply gets here Thursday so I can get them printed from my original images. Or, I will have to make new ones from scratch so I can get them mailed Friday!

I spent several hours hunting for some of my sale items. I misplaced them after moving my office out of my bedroom. I'd made a sale and was panicking about finding it! Finally did. In my bedroom! A vintage radio pamphlet.

Now, if I could just find my freakin' headphones!

I was able to salvage enough veggies for the bunnies to last until tomorrow night. It was mainly corn husks that were moldy. Corn husks and silks aren't really good for rabbits, anyway. The rest was good. They will even have corn for the first time! Just one-inch sections. So, that will be a treat for them.

Time for some jumps on the trampoline and then some cross-stitching.

Gah!!! While hunting for more black embroidery floss, I found another cross-stitch project I had started years ago ... Add that to the list of projects to finish ... :(

Well, that was brilliant. After all these years, I need a refresher on reading a pattern. Black is not turquoise and a straight line is not a squiggly line ... just pulled the black back-stitching I did the past two nights as it was supposed to be turquoise ... Will re-do it tomorrow ... :(

Monday, December 16, 2013

December 16, 2013

This has seemed like a very long day and I don't know why.

I got all my packages mailed this morning. I scraped together enough change to get some milk and eggs at the co-op. Sadly, they had very little free greens for the bunnies, so I will have to go back tomorrow. There was only enough for their dinner tonight. I will have to pull some weeds and wild lettuce in the morning for their breakfast.

I serviced 4 stores today. One of them not mine, but has no permanent rep. I don't like the store and doubt I will service it again. It is too far off my regular route, but I told Viola I would help out on extra stores this week. I have 3 more of mine to do tomorrow and then my 'vacation' starts. Unless she gets back to me with any more stores she needs help with. She normally covers the stores that are not permanently assigned, but recently had foot surgery, so is on 'desk duty' until next month.

I should have my cross-stitch project finished by next weekend. Then, I will frame it. Haven't decided if I am going to keep it or sell it ... It's cute!

Sunday, December 15, 2013

December 15, 2013

So, I made a couple of new blogs yesterday. I was bored! QuinGem's Quaint Quill and QuinGem's Queer Quotidian. The first is mainly to post photos for my penpals to see, but I'll still share whatever I put up there. The other is for mostly images or articles that catch my eye in the celebrity or LGBTQ community.

So, if you didn't catch the Quill posts yesterday, I painted.

And, Robby and Sheree had a play day.

Bucks on the Loose

Well, today, I painted for over two hours.

I did the section to the left of the window today.
Wednesday, I hope to get at least that top section above the window and the door.

If all goes well, I might get the section done all the way to the windows on the right. I hope!

I must say that I love my Werner adjustable ladder. I am dealing with the stairs now. It works great on them.

I work for the next two days and then will be off until January 2 ... I am not thrilled about that, since we had the extra time off over Thanksgiving this year, too. I hate that they spring these 'vacations' on us on very short notice, so I have noooooo money right now. But, I should be able to get more painting done!

I ordered the power supply for my desktop computer this morning. More than I wanted to pay. Thank goodness for BillMeLater! It should get here by Thursday. I had planned on buying from Fry's, but after taking the part out of the computer and comparing to what they had when I stopped by there the other day, I realized they don't have the right one. Not even on their website. I found the exact one on eBay, though.

I have everything ready for tomorrow. All my paperwork, and the swaps and pressies and sales are packaged for the post office. I still have a few more presents to get ready and hope to mail the rest on Tuesday.

Since my desktop isn't working right now, my goal of listing one thing a day on Listia fell through. I wanted to list more things that need graphics, but stupidly some of them are on that computer and not in an external HD ... As it is, the two I have listed, I'm really going to have to work to re-do the images if the power supply doesn't arrive before Friday when they are due to mail out ... But, it's doable ...

I am finally finishing my Indian Boy cross-stitch that I started YEARS ago! I just have the black back-stitching to do. I told myself that I am not going to start any new big craft projects until the others I have in progress are finished. So, first up is this cross-stitch. Next will be all the cloth wipes I cut out and never got around to hemming together.

December 2, 2013

Waiting on the Bonney maintenance man to get here. They just called. I'd had to re-schedule last Wed., due to them being delayed and I had to get to a special project for work (in the middle of my supposed vacation ...) as well as dealing with a possibly dying Ezra ...

Ezra is doing great today. No accidents, no straining, no bleeding. But, lots of begging for food and getting mad when he doesn't get the food he wants ...

Seems all the neighbors have the money to hire people to do all their building work. Must be nice ... Across the road, they are getting new siding, pre-sale. Gonna miss the quiet lady that lives there; hope the new people aren't noisy ... Next door is getting a new roof, which I know they have needed for a while.

I have to go to the co-op today, since I didn't go Sat. The bucks are out of greens and I still need to get more cantharis for Ezra.

What a tiring day! The furnace maintenance was done by noon. Then, I went to the co-op. I got home about 1 and then went right out to paint. Just came in a few minutes ago. I got the bottom half of the trailer done on one side. Next weekend, I will start on the upper part.

It is getting chilly.

What is it with companies sending people door-to-door without explanations as to WHY they are coming to your door!? I am not going to give them any info if I don't have a reason! Go away! Second time in a week.

Just enjoyed 3 hours of Doctor Blake Mysteries. So tired. Back to work tomorrow. Ugh.

Sunday, December 1, 2013

December 1, 2013

Ezra continues to improve. He slept on my mom's bed all night with no accidents and she said he got up a couple times and went to his box and also ate a bit. He wants out of the bedroom today.

My goal to list one thing a day on Listia last month was a fail ... but, I'm going to try it again this month!

I also have a goal of getting my swaps mailed out as soon as I can, rather than the day they are due! I have 2 due next Sat. So, I hope to get them packaged to mail tomorrow. I also owe 2 penpal letters and 2 postcards! Ugh.

Almost time to start on the weekly cabinet vacuuming and steam-clean the floors.
Laundry is ready for the dryer now.

Done with the vacuuming and floors ... waiting to put the second load in the dryer ...

The last of the leftover pork roast, baking in butter for lunch. Then, out to do more painting!

Pics of today's painting. Kind of hard to see what I did, due to the sunshine on the wall. I painted for about 3 hours.

Tomorrow, I should get to the front edge of the trailer and then I'll start on ladder work to get to the upper parts of the wall ... baby steps ...

Bacon and scrambled eggs for dinner. With milk.

Going to watch a couple of episodes of Dr. Blake Mysteries.

Well, that was enjoyable. I really like that show. We watched 3 episodes. Ezra came out of the bedroom and fell asleep in his tunnel toy. Then, got very mad when he came out and we made him take his pills!

Saturday, November 30, 2013

November 30, 2013

I didn't post yesterday's blog to Twitter, G+ or FB like I usually do. I didn't want the extra flak that I may have gotten from some folks about Ezra.
But, this one I will post out there. Ezra is doing well. My mom said he even climbed up on the toilet because he was out of water in his bowl. He'd drank it all through the night. She refilled it, as we don't allow the critters to drink from the toilet ... ew. She even changed his bedding that he'd messed on! That's a shock ...
Anyway, he's going to get some sheep yogurt for lunch along with his herb tinctures, etc. He's sleeping a lot, getting his energy back. Not much blood in his pee today! Yay! If he takes the yogurt well today, we'll move up to some ground meat.
Finished cleaning cages and vacuuming. Second load of laundry running. I'll get some painting done this afternoon.

Time to harass Ezra and hopefully brush/comb all the cat litter out of his britches. If that goes well, he'll get a bath to get all the blood and pee off his hair.

Got some brushing done before he got annoyed. He peed in his box twice. No blood. He started wandering around the bedroom. Drank a good amount of water. Didn't want to stay in the bathroom. He took a baby spoonful of yogurt. But, that wasn't what he wanted. So, I gave him a baby spoonful of chopped salmon. That's what he wanted! But, that was enough for now. I don't want to rush him into eating too much. I did leave a baby spoonful of yogurt mixed with some salmon in a bowl. Hopefully, he'll eat that on his own. Now to find me some lunch.

Leftover pork roast in butter!

I got almost 3 hours of painting done. Here are pics from the last 3 days of painting - although I took all the pics today.

Sad news about Paul Walker. He was only 40.

Ezra is doing pretty good. He jumped up in bed with my mom tonight. So, she had to jump up and get the extra bedding for him to lay on in case he doesn't make it to the box ... He pooped again earlier. A bit of diarrhea. Not surprising. He ate a bit more salmon and some cream. I'm not totally happy with the amount he is peeing, but the blood is nearly gone.
Tomorrow, he will definitely get that bath. He stinks. Poor baby.

November 29, 2013

Well, I haven't felt like blogging the past few days. I've had some bad stuff going on. It's hell having no money for emergencies. Ezra's bladder got blocked. Yes, this is a major life or death emergency. But, a vet would cost hundreds, if not thousands, to do x-rays, blood work, catheterization, possible surgery, hospitalization, meds, etc., which I don't have. I know. I've studied vet medicine (many years ago ...) and have also paid for all of that with past male cats who were born with congenital urinary tract issues and both lived into their teens after their crises. I had no money to even start this process with Ezra. I have my old vet books, natural health books and homeopathy books. This started about 4 days ago. Two days ago the crisis peaked to the point where he totally crashed. He could not walk as his hind end was too painful with the bladder being so full. He wasn't even strong enough to cry. Just moan. And, could barely lift his head. I knew he wouldn't make it. The next morning (Wed.) I went to the co-op after I got paid (luckily, I got paid a day early due to the holiday) and snagged up several homeopathic remedies. They are packaged for humans, but with a little tweaking on dosage down to cat-size, they work. I mainly used a liquid extract by Herb Pharm called Stone Breaker. It basically dissolves the stones little-by-little. Also, Goldenrod flower essence by Flower Essence Services. (He hates the taste of both, so I put the drops in his ears and rubbed it in.) I also got Urtica Urens pellets by Boiron. I had Cranberry with Vit. C soft gels and Boiron Cantharis pellets that I'd given him earlier in the year, too. He'd had a minor problem at that time. Plus, he's getting homemade bone broth by syringe. He is getting all these about every 3 hours, except overnight. He IS drinking water occasionally on his own. He has kept clear eyes all through this. And, is fiesty, but weak. I really wasn't sure he would make it last night. I woke up this morning to my mom yelling that Ezra actually walked (VERY slowly) to the litter box and peed. A lot! Still a lot of blood in it ... He has since peed 3 times in the past 4 hours. His bladder is no longer full and hard (it was the size and feel of a baseball ...) He is by no means 'out-of-the-woods', but he continues to fight and is making progress. Even after all this, I will keep him on a few remedies indefinitely to keep his bladder stone-free. At this point, it does not seem that his kidneys had shut down completely through this. He never got edemic, luckily, either. He did get slightly dehydrated, even with the water and broth, though.
I am very lucky that my work has a very flexible schedule and that I am in the middle of vacation this week. If I worked a regular all-day job, he would be gone already. As it is, I am able to check on him constantly, massage him, brush him, clean him (he has long, double-coated fur and the blood and litter cling to his britches) and keep him 'here'. So, this would not work for everyone's cat! I am not a vet, just desperate to keep our boy with us. So, please don't try this at home! Seriously.

I got a few hours of painting in today. It's so nice out. I think it got to about 70F today.

I came in to give Ezrie his herbs and he was peeing (less blood every time!) again AND he finally pooped after 4+ days! Poor baby wasn't strong enough to get it all out on his own. Ew. But, he's more comfortable and on a clean blanket now. He's walking much better, too. No more tummy ache. He'll get more broth tonight and tomorrow he'll have some plain sheep yogurt and possibly some milk kefir. He'll also get brushed and combed and maybe a rear-end bath if he's up to it. He's never been averse to baths, so it shouldn't be a problem.
He has his meow back, too!

Finally watching the last Francis the talking mule movie, Francis in the Haunted House. Totally different than the previous six movies. I can see why they didn't do any more of them. This one is not as good as the others.

Ezra is ready for bed. Love his bright green Ezra Standish eyes.

November 26, 2013

Just came in from painting for a couple of hours. I have about 1/8 of the house done! haha!

This morning, we got most of the kitchen cabinets rearranged. Still a few to do. I put some of the doors on top of the cabinets and made shelves. My mom's basket collection has a home, now ...

Viola emailed me to let me know one of the stores I was going to do, another rep was able to get to it. So, I will do the other tomorrow after the furnace maintenance is done. And, since the predicted rain for Thurs. is no longer in the prediction, I should be able to paint in the afternoons from Thurs. - Monday and might get half of the trailer done as I wanted ... goal!

This was lunch:
Ground pork fried in butter with dried onions, pepper flakes and parsley. Topped with Organic Valley Mexican Blend shredded cheese.

Dinner was pork roast, heirloom tomatoes with mascarpone and black pepper, half a banana and milk.

Watching a couple more Francis the talking mule movies.

Hot chocolate hits the spot!

November 25, 2013

I got up a little late today - 7:30 - I can't seem to get in gear, but I have to go to the co-op for a bunny box and milk. The boys are out of greens. They had a carrot and sweet potato chunk for breakfast with their hay.

Whew! All the doors are off of all the kitchen cabinets! I've decided to use a few of the doors as shelves above the cabinets (they were built with no tops!) So, we can put stuff up there, too. That will be tomorrow, though. It took about 2 hours to take off all those doors after I got back from the co-op.

I also got interrupted by a couple of phone calls. First, it was Amy at the park office telling me that the water was being turned off for a while due to a leak ... then, it was Viola asking if I could service 2 stores this week (so much for vacation!) So, I will be servicing them on Wed. Money!

The last of the leftover chili beans for lunch. Then, painting time!

I painted for about 2 hours. But, it looks like I may have to work tomorrow. I had told Viola that I would do the stores Wed. But, then I remembered that the furnace is going to be serviced that day and you can never be sure when the person will come! So, I probably won't be able to paint again until Sat. We'll see.

I'm having problems with my FireFox browser freezing today. So, I'm going to close up and continue watching a couple of Francis movies with my mom.

November 24, 2013

I've been listening to a lot of Monkees songs lately. Mike Nesmith didn't get much credit for his singing. It was always Mickey or Davey. But, Mike had a nice voice.

I am cold and tired. Busy day again. This morning, I vacuumed all the cabinets and steam-cleaned both bathrooms, kitchen and laundry room floors. Took 3 hours to do that. Had left-over chili beans for lunch. Then went out and painted for a bit over 2 hours. It is 60F outside. I am done for the day ... except to list a book on Listia.

Tomorrow morning, I'll be taking all the kitchen cabinet doors off. My mom wants to rearrange everything in the kitchen and I am moving the bookshelf that's in there into my office to get the rest of the books off of the floor. Then, more house-painting in the afternoon.

We are having eggs fried in butter with Aidell's Artichoke & Garlic Chicken sausage. With milk.

Watching a couple of the Francis the Talking Mule movie with my mom.

Two mugs in 2 days broke in the oven heating my milk for hot chocolate! Not good ...

November 23, 2013

Well, I have 10 days off from work starting today. I'll get back to work on Dec. 3.
I didn't get online all that much yesterday. So, didn't blog. I have a lot to do today. And, of course, the first thing out of my mom when she comes out of her room is a complaint. Ezra peed on her bed ...

First project today is taking my mom's closet doors off and figuring out why they keep jumping the track ...

Then, cages ...

Nikky got in trouble right out the door this morning. The local stray cat must have been sleeping under my car, so Nikky had to chase her! Luckily, she listens to commands and stopped about 2 doors down, but she really wanted to chase more. I had to prompt her several times to come and 'yard' (the command to go in the fenced yard to potty.)

So, the closet door is going out on the deck to hopefully get Martin (neighbor) to take to the dump the next time he goes. The track is no good. That's why the door was constantly jumping off. There's a big dent in it that I can't fix. My mom never liked the doors anyway. Full mirrors. I hate mirrors. So, the doors will go. Rearranging her closet this afternoon, so Ezra can't pull stuff off the shelf. Ha!

Cages are cleaned and critters are fed.  Floors partially vacuumed and mopped. I didn't steam-clean the floor today. I'll do it tomorrow after I vacuum the kitchen cabinets.

Still need to go out and clean Nikky's yard.

Hungry. Having turkey backs and necks for lunch.

Lunch eaten, closet rearranged, yard cleaned. Getting a bunch of CDs ready to list on Listia.
But, first laundry needs to be folded and put away.

Wow. Just got the first freeze warning for the season. Kind of early, I think.

Auction: Tom Jones Best Of - CD/DVD set - Used

Auction: Hits of the 50s CD - Used
Auction: Tanya Tucker 20 Greatest Hits CD - Used

Auction: Charley Pride 20 Super Hits CD - Used

Caught up with Listia. I'll be listing more books there starting tomorrow.

My mom is making beef market steaks with a mix of veggies/fruits (onions, pomegranate, Granny Smith apple, dried tomatoes, jalapeño pepper and yellow wax beans) fried together in coconut oil for dinner.

100 jumps on the trampoline. Nikky loves playing on it.

Dinner was really good. Very flavorful. There were no added spices, just the flavors of the ingredients. Mmmm.
Nicky had a turkey back for dinner.

Time for some willow bark ... my bad shoulder is really starting to hurt. This cold weather is getting to it, I think.

Also time for some hot chocolate!

Well, that was almost a huge mess. The mug cracked in the oven. Glad it didn't explode, just leaked a little. I carefully transferred the milk to another mug.

November 21, 2013

Well, today didn't go entirely as planned ... only got 3 stores serviced ...

Before I left this morning, I paid half a bill (better than not paying it ...) Then, when I left I got more gas (I've only been able to get about $10 at a time lately ...), got the weekly hay for the bunnies (they didn't have organic in for me - my weekly special order ... - but they were having a 2 for 1 sale on the other varieties, so I got Timothy and Meadow hay), mailed a swap, then headed over to Davis. What a mess! They are doing some kind of roadwork or trackwork near the railroad track that intersects the entire town ... I got stuck in traffic for 45 minutes just a block from where I needed to turn to get to the co-op. Then, I got rear-ended! Just a little bump, but he broke his plastic license plate holder and just scuffed my bumper a bit. So, I didn't bother with us getting info from each other. No biggie. Finally, enough people got tired of waiting and started pulling out to u-turn and I was able to, too. I had to go out-of-my way to get on the freeway and get to the other side of town and then back-track through town to get there! Crazy. But, I got my morning hot chocolate, a huge bunny box and some meat to last a few days. Then, I went to West Sac. to check on Curtis (he's doing good) and borrow some money to cover what my mom is going to be shorted in her next Social Security check so I can pay the house insurance on time and a couple of other bills. I wasn't going to, but I know my money in my next check will not be enough ... so, I told him I'd pay him back by Feb. Then, I was finally able to get to Sacramento to service 3 stores. At one of them, I paid one of the local parking lot window-washers (you know, the enterprising guys who will wash your car windows for whatever you will give them) a couple of dollars to scrub my bumper and get most of the scuff-marks off from the rear-ending. I'm going to do 2 other stores tomorrow, then start my 10 days off.

The wind is horrible today. I much prefer rain.

I had a really good beef market steak when I got home. Fried in butter with onion salt and lemon pepper. Mmmm.

Now, I'm having Trader Joe's Cinnamon Tempest tea with milk.

Leftover chili beans will be for dinner later, since I'm not hungry now.

I have a bunch of stuff to package for mailing tomorrow (Listia auction winnings and swaps.) Still waiting on payment for a couple of them.

I really should get some things listed (I am 3 days behind again!)

I really need to get a load of laundry going, too.

Well, I have the chili beans reheating in the oven and I'll have some hot chocolate with that. And, laundry is hanging on the inside line.
Chili beans topped with Organic Valley Mexican Blend cheese

Time for White Collar!

November 20, 2013

Feeling a bit better this morning, but still not completely over the migraine. Still have some pressure there. So, I'll still get the 2 stores done today that I have planned. One of which has a special project. I'm going to stop at the co-op for hot chocolate after I get some gas this morning.

Rained more overnight. Looks like it might rain more later. Love it!

Got the 2 stores done! Also, got hot chocolate and gas, as planned. My migraine keeps coming and going. Really annoying ... and painfilled!

I have 6 stores planned for tomorrow. It's the last for the week. I hope I can get them done so I can start my vacation on Friday - ten days off!

I got a fun swap all packaged to send tomorrow. I also got 2 new penpals in yesterday's mail! I haven't had penpals for yeeeears. I used to have hundreds when I was younger (& stamps were waaaay cheaper!)

Time for Criminal Minds and CSI tonight. Heating up milk for some hot chocolate.

November 19, 2013

Migraine is really trying to take hold this morning. Drank some bone broth (I rarely have anything to eat this early in the day ...), taken feverfew, white willow bark and extra magnesium. If I still feel like I can drive in the next 20 minutes, I will start on that goal of servicing 7 stores today ...

It rained a bit overnight.

Well, my migraine is worse now. I did get 5 stores serviced! One of which had a special project. But, I just couldn't get to those other 2 stores. So, I will do them on Thurs. when I go near that area for some other stores. I did stop at the co-op and got a small bunny box and a hot chocolate. I also stopped at the Whole Foods in Sacramento (on the same street the stores I serviced are on) and took in the #5 recycling finally. Tomorrow, I have 2 stores in another town. Should be an easier day. I pushed myself too much today.

It sprinkled a bit more today, but it was while I was in a store. Other than that, just very cloudy.

My mom made chili beans for dinner! We haven't had that in years! She even soaked the beans for a couple of days! (She's learning!) It was very good, but not nearly enough meat in it.

I'm freezing. Had to turn on my little electric lap blanket.

Time for hot chocolate. Sounds like it is raining again.

Just took Nikky out - later than usual - and it is pouring. We got wet! ;)

Why do most crime TV shows have to have a bank robbery/hostage episode that at least one of their main leads is caught up in? So unoriginal.

Feeling a bit better now.

Time to take Nikky out again and then put her and the other critters to bed. Going to get wet ...

Monday, November 18, 2013

November 18, 2013

I'm having a 'dizzy' morning. Comes and goes. Hopefully, I won't be getting a migraine this week. Occasionally, that is one of my 'auras' before a migraine hits. Haven't had a real migraine in a while. Need to get more magnesium complex. I've been out for a while ...

And, my company finally sent a memo about Thanksgiving week being off (luckily, my manager had already warned me a few weeks ago.) If it doesn't rain, I hope to get more painting done that week. It's supposed to rain this week (Tues. & Wed.) but we'll see if it actually happens.

It's a lovely, cloudy day. Looks like it really might rain by tomorrow, as predicted.
I got 2 stores serviced and went to the co-op for milk and a bunny box. I also stopped at Trader Joe's, Dollar Tree and Cost Plus to find some items for a swap (a bit of a treasure hunt - that was fun!)

Tomorrow is going to be a very long, crazy day. I am going to attempt to service 7 stores ... eeep. I am hoping to have 10 days off starting Friday. If I'm lucky, I might get some more painting done on more than one of those days. Barring rain ...

Hot wings for dinner! I can't get enough of chicken wings. We have them a lot. And, milk.

I just registered for TVEverywhere through my cable provider. They just added that feature recently. I can watch current TV shows on my computer or tablet with no extra fee! Cool.

Sunday, November 17, 2013

November 17, 2013

I'm not in the mood to paint today, but I have to. So, will go out after lunch ...
Vacuumed the cabinets this morning (very few bugs!) and did a load of laundry. Got a CD ready to list.

Lots of tornadoes today in the mid-west. So glad I don't live in that area!

Going to watch some old horror movies again today ... The Raven and The Tingler, and a comedy, The Ladykillers. I've watched them all recently, but my mom hasn't seen the first two for many years and I don't think she's ever seen the other. It's so easy to watch all of the stuff I have stored on my computer. I just transfer them all to a USB jump drive and plug it in the back of this TV. To paraphrase Wil Wheaton - it's great living in the future! (Sometimes.)

Auction: Christmas with Country's Finest, Volume 1 CD - used

Finished watching The Ladykillers.
Having Aidell's Sun-dried Tomato and Garlic Salame on rice crackers with raw mild Cheddar cheese for lunch.

I painted for a couple of hours. I would've done more, but ... a strange person came to my door and then saw me in the back yard. He wouldn't/couldn't explain what he was doing here. Supposedly he was a contractor for PG&E (which took too much prompting to even get that out of him!) checking that people are up-to-date on their 'deregulation'. BUT, he would not/could not explain what the heck he meant by that. 'We have a lot of rules we have to follow ...' One of which is apparently not to explain what that 'deregulation' is ... I told him if he couldn't explain why he was here, he could leave. 'OK. I'll mark your address down as another complaint.' 'You do that.' I watched him for a few minutes and he was going door-to-door. By then, I was out of the mood for painting ... ugh. I should have asked for his supervisor's number ...

Rotisserie chicken for dinner. Yum. With milk! And, baked quince with cream! So good.

OK. Baked quince that has gone cold before it's served ... not so good ... must re-heat. Hope it is still good with the cream melted ...

Well, we just finished watching the movies.
I heated up the quince and the cream melted into melted butter. I added a bit of organic cinnamon-sugar mixture. Is good now. With hot chocolate!

Saturday, November 16, 2013

November 16, 2013

I STILL can't find my headphones! I have lots of earbuds, but they don't work as well and always fall out of my ears!

Got all the TVs switched around! I can now see the TV from my office, since it is up on a cabinet. It was hard to see the old console with the arm of the couch in my way ... Going to watch some old movies later. Have to rest and then clean cages and then fix my mom's closet door ... again ...
Done. TVs, cages, door. All done. Must find food!

Leftover wild rice, broccoli and burger with butter! And, a rambutan fruit and a coconut date roll.

Now the rest of the afternoon will be listing a few things. Finally!

The Wolfman on the TV.

Oooh. The Blob is on next.

Having some hot bone broth for a snack.

Auction: 2 NuWave Pizza Kit Manuals - in Spanish

Auction: Handcrafted Fancy Jewelled Hat Pins (5)

Auction: 10 Bread Clips for crafts - used

We watched Devil-Doll before my mom went to her bedroom to read and then I watched the last two eps of 240-Robert. Too bad that show only had 16 eps in total. It wasn't a bad show.

Tomorrow, we'll be watching a few more old horror movies.

Gah. The noisy neighbors' noisy grandkid is screaming his head off outside again ...

One last listing for the day ...
Auction: Kokopelli Address Labels

November 15, 2013

Waiting on the plumber to come. They called a bit ago and are on their way.
The bucks are out on the deck since I don't clean their cages until tomorrow and they look messy. ;) They need the sun.
I finally renewed my TracFone before it expires and I lose the phone #. Good for another 90 days ...
I also got all my swaps and auctions packaged and ready to drop at the PO this afternoon.
Working on my mom's Medi-Cal paperwork. I need to print out copies of her info to take now ...

And, no, I didn't get anything posted to Listia yesterday, either!

I did 100 jumps on the trampoline.

I took down the big yard umbrella and put it in the shed for the season. The wind is really picking up, bringing in the cooler weather.

I'm amazed I got all of the above done. But, that is all ... pretty much. Didn't list again ... so much for my daily goal ... so, tomorrow, I will attempt to list 4 things to catch up! Really ...

I also discovered (because of an actual TV commercial that I happened to look up and see!) that I have 'TV Anywhere' included in my cable package. When I went to the P.O. earlier, I stopped at the cable office to confirm! And, yes! I can watch many of my favorite channels on my computer! Without paying an extra fee! Nice to find another way to watch some things legally ... ;)

Now, to watch another old ep. of 240-Robert while having some hot Silly Cow Chocolate-chocolate milk.

Listening to Daniel Vitalis talking about the hollow tube on the Gut Rebuilding Experts seminar. Very interesting.

Thursday, November 14, 2013

November 14, 2013

Damn. I forgot to put anything up on Listia yesterday! I'll have to put up 2 things this afternoon. I felt very distracted yesterday when I got home ...

I have to clean the bathrooms and under all the sink cabinets when I get home as the plumber is coming tomorrow for a regular check-up.
Hope he comes early, but of course, won't count on it ...

I need to get the paperwork done and copied for my mom's Medi-Cal and take it in tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully, it won't get lost again and she can get her money back that they are taking from her next check ...

Today was pretty good. Almost everything has gone according to plan, other than the horrible traffic. I got 3 of my stores serviced, stopped at the co-op for a bunny box and some other food, got gas, got hay, took the digital cable boxes back to the cable company. Just finished cleaning my bathroom. Reminded my mom to clean hers'. Load of laundry going.

Surprisingly, my mom has agreed to move her TV to the living room and move my little TV to her room (I rarely watch it.) This way we can start watching all the stuff I have stored on my computer that I may never get around to burning to disk as the TV  has a USB port! She'll never be able to complain that there is nothing on TV, then! I am still going to try to save up for a bigger TV for the living room, but for now her 32" will do. Going to move them around tomorrow afternoon.

Why is she watching Bill O'Reilly. ARRGGH! I have a headache now!

Snacking on some nuts, seeds and raisins with Trader Joe's Ruby Red Chai and milk. Going to watch an old 240-Robert and then a new ep of White Collar!

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

November 13, 2013

It's been a busy day. Serviced 3 stores. Took forever to get the inventories entered into the company website! I've been having a lot of trouble with it lately. I type too fast for the entries! Sometimes it crashes the page, other times it does something really funky and shoots me to some random other website! Very annoying when I have hundreds of numbers to enter!

I have to cut back on my chocolate tea, I think. Got sores in my mouth from the damn caffeine ... (I'm allergic ...)

I'm so hungry. Can't wait for dinner ... whatever it is. My mom told me, but I was in the middle of entering all those damn numbers, so can't remember ... smells good ...

I've got a headache.

Got my oil check today. Paid the cable bill. Found by chance that they have moved their office around the corner! Right next to one of my banks and BelAir and the Pet Factory that I go to. So, since I was going to that bank to cash my check, I paid my bill, too. Going to take those digital cable boxes back tomorrow, too, so nice that they are closer!

Ah, dinner is salmon and wild rice blend mixed with broccoli and lots of butter. And, milk.

Need willow bark ...

Time for Criminal Minds, CSI and some Zhena's Hazelnut Chai tea with milk. Then, an old ep of 240-Robert.

Tuesday, November 12, 2013

November 12, 2013

Is it Monday? No, it's Tuesday. But, it sure feels like Monday ... I don't wanna work today! But, I have to! Glad I got all my paperwork together yesterday.
So much to do today. Stop at the post office to mail my swaps. All the critters need food. I need milk. So, I have to stop at Pet Factory for the dog and cat, then to the co-op for a bunny box and the milk. Then off to service 4 stores ... long day. And, at some point I need to call my mom's worker to find out about the Medi-Cal issue ...

It's very cloudy today. But, the predicted 60% chance of rain from last week is down to only 10% chance ... bummer.

Looks like Obama's SickCare plan is starting to really implode. More and more against it. I shouldn't say 'I told you so ...' but ... ;)

Well, I only serviced 2 stores, but that's alright. I'll do the other 2 tomorrow, and another here in town that was added for a one-time special project.

I ended up going over to Social Services to find out what was up with my mom's Medi-Cal. They lost the renewal paperwork I submitted a few months ago! So, my mom now has to totally re-apply and also ask for retroactive repayment of the money that will not be on her next check! That will probably take several months to get back! ARRRGGH! Sucks! I'm going to have to ask Curtis if I can borrow some money so I don't have late bills and then pay him back once my mom gets that money back ... damn.

Dinner was baked chicken wings with raw sauerkraut mixed with bell pepper and bacon. And, milk.

Got all the bunnies' food chopped up. They will have a piece of eggplant for the first time tonight.

Time for some Kalahari ChocoLatté tea with milk and some 240-Robert.

My daily Listia -
Auction: Personalized Monarch Butterfly Address Labels

Monday, November 11, 2013

November 11, 2013

I got all my paperwork printed and files ready for tomorrow. Lots of new projects starting ... resets and such.

Load of laundry started.

Just watched the newest 'Workout Wednesday' from Zach Anner on YouTube. He's a riot!

I was surprised yesterday to get 3 sales from my CaféPress shop. I haven't gotten any sales there in months. I hate that all sales seem to come from the marketplace rather than directly from my shop (which is a change that was made several years ago and my sales plummeted to nearly none ... sucks ...)

Got the kitchen cabinets vacuumed out. I try to do it every week. Suck up the bugs and then bag it up for the garbage. Put out all the new traps I bought yesterday & threw out the old. Have a load of dishes from the 1 cabinet shelf I scrubbed in the dishwasher. Wish I could do all of them, but not enough hours in the day. So, I can only do one at a time and then start over again when they are all done. Never-ending ...

Need food.

Uncured Canadian bacon wrapped around a BabyBel cheese round. And, a rambutan fruit. Not bad.

Got a set of dropper bottles cleaned and ready to post on Listia this afternoon. I hate GooGone - it stinks, but it does work to get the label residue off before I boil them.

Painted for about 2 hours and wrapped 2 pipes.
One of these days I want to put an outdoor sink on those pipes.

Dinner is the leftover veggies and meat from making the bone broth, in broth and lots of butter. And, milk.

My daily Listia -
Auction: 5 Amber Glass Dropper Bottles - Used

Oh, fun. My next swap is a scavenger hunt ATC! That will be fun. Now ... which to make first, this or the button fairy ... ah, button fairy is due first, so that one it will be. I think I'll go through some buttons after dinner.

The button fairy turned out kind of cute. First one I've made!

Time to watch 240-Robert and have some Trader Joe's Cinnamon Tempest tea with apple juice!

Sunday, November 10, 2013

November 10, 2013

It's been a busy day already.
I went to Home Depot and got the ladder I wanted. It took them 20 minutes to find it. They had the wrong model on the floor in the slot for the one I wanted. I got a 13-foot Werner telescoping ladder. They had the 26-foot there. That is way too big for me! My roof is only 12 foot from the ground! The great thing about this one is that it extends high enough to get to the roof and collapses small enough to store in the shed! My other ladders that I'd inherited from my dad were too big. I got a 10% discount for my patience! I also got a pack of white rags as I need to throw some of mine away. I use them to line the rabbits' trays and also for cleaning. And, more roach traps and 2 fly swatters (my old one's falling apart!)

Wow. My mom made me lunch. Hard-fried eggs and turkey burger patty.

I'm going to take the digital converter and digital box back to the cable company on Tues. I got them a couple months ago on special, but we don't even watch the extra channels! And, the little converter didn't work half the time. I kept having to call them to reboot it! And, y'all know how I hate using phones! So, back they go and we'll be back to just having the extended basic package.

Speaking of phones ... ;) I need to get more TracFone minutes/days before the 20th! Should do that now ... maybe this afternoon.

Got all the spices added to my broth before I left for the store. So, I'll be straining into jars later today.

Going out to pull weeds for a couple of hours. I'm tired of not being able to find all of Nikky's messes to clean up! The weeds are trying to take over the little yard again ...

Glad that is done for a while. It still looks awful, but at least I can clean the yard more easily. I also got the ladder unwrapped (why do companies insist on so much cardboard and plastic on everything?!) and put in the shed. And, I put the old A-frame ladder back under the stairs.

Time to strain the broth and put in jars. Once they cool down, I'll put most of them in the freezer and keep a couple in the fridge. I put the broth in pint jars.

That messy job is done! A dozen pints of pork bone broth are now cooling on the counter before I put them in the freezer or fridge. And, about a pint of veggies and meat was strained for later eating. It's great with lots of butter. ;)

Gah! This is frustrating. Got another letter saying my mom's Medi-Cal is cancelled, so her MediCare Part B will no longer be paid on her SS, so it will be lower next month by over $300! That's really going to hurt. Especially since my damn company has added another week off this year at the last minute (all of Thanksgiving week ...) Going to be some laaaate bills in Dec. I'll have to call her worker and set up an appt. Tues. to see why this keeps happening.

So, I'm debating about even paying for more TracFone time now ... Might wait until I get my oil check and see if it is a good one this month. Should be here next week.

Dinner was baked turkey thighs with sliced tomatoes topped with crème fraîche and fresh ground pepper. And, milk.

Did 100 jumps on the trampoline. Need to get back to doing that every day. Great for the lymph nodes.

My next little craft project for a swap is a cute little button fairy! I'd never seen them before, so it is going to be fun to make! I love trying new crafts. I've got tons of buttons! And, feathers! So, sometime between now and the 23rd I will get that made.

Time for an episode of 240-Robert and some Trader Joe's Cinnamon Tempest tea with milk.

That was a fun episode! It's too bad this show didn't last more than a season. Although, Joanna Cassidy was always annoying ... Wish I could find this on DVD, as I'm watching old VHS copies from the TV.

Having some nuts, seeds and raisins to snack on.

Read a sad story out of Ohio. The founding rescuer for the Animal Rights Foundation killed herself and 31 rescue dogs ... so sad. I've nearly been there a couple of times, but because of my dogs (Quinn & Gemini were my saviors and still watch over me) I didn't do it.

Just watched an old movie short. The Bees' Buzz. It would've worked better as a silent movie (which I though it was originally.) It had its funny moments, though.

November 9, 2013

I can't seem to warm up this morning. I have the heater on. I'll warm up once I start cleaning, though. It's Saturday. Cage-cleaning day ... fun ... I'm going to let the boys out to run around for the first time since Sheree bit Robin on the nose. One at a time. Can't let them out together any more. They are no longer bunnies, but mature bucks now. Is sad :'(

First load of laundry is in the dryer. Will do 1 or 2 more today.

Just joined a bunch of swaps on swap-bot. Love swapping!

Wow. The first time in 3 hours I've been able to sit down and rest. Just finished cleaning dove and rabbit cages, letting the bucks run around (Sheree for almost 90 minutes and Robby for about 60 minutes - Nikky was in mama dog heaven), put veggies in my pork bone broth, vacuumed, steam-cleaned the kitchen and laundry room floors, got the 2nd load of laundry going, feeding/watering all the critters after washing their bowls and bottles ... and not all in that order ... I'm exhausted. And, of course, my mom threw a hissy fit rather than help with any of them and is hiding in her room. But, that's every Sat. when it's cleaning time ... or every morning when it's feeding time ... and, she's the one that wanted a bunny ... I have to find something to eat, now.

Ah ... hard fried chicken and dove eggs with leftover pork roast fried in butter for lunch. Mmmm. And, a rambutan fruit.

It's another pretty day outside and I am not in the mood to do anything outside today ... ugh. But, I have to do something!!! Sure as hell won't get done if I don't ...

Yep. Not gonna get much else done today. Too tired ... Have the 3rd load of laundry running with one more to go. Where does it all come from!?

Changed out all the roach traps. Fun. Not. Yeah, we got a looooong-standing problem with them ...

Still need to mess with the fish filter and also top off their water, yet ...

At least I made $3 today. Just finished doing a survey.

Next ... last load of laundry is in the washer.

Snacking on some nuts, raisins and seeds ... about a tablespoon ...

Dinner was so good. Lamb leg steak with baked apple smothered in crème fraîche with a date in the middle. Mmmmm. And, milk.

Time to watch another episode of 240-Robert and have some hazelnut chai tea with milk.

But first, this is always a winner:

Gah. The noisy neighbors are being extra noisy tonight ...

Grumpy Cat and I are so in tune ...
Leave me alone, I'm tired.

Damn. The destruction in the Philippines is immense. And, the storm is headed to Viet Nam now ...

Having some organic apple juice diluted with a bit of water. Haven't had apple juice in quite a while, but bought a bottle for a recipe last week and only needed a cup for that. So, drinking it a bit at a time so it's not wasted.

Sure wish I could figure out what happened to my headphones. I need them right now to drown out the noise ... over a month since I moved my office out of my bedroom and still can't find them! I did find my car charger adapter yesterday, though! Win!

Discovered earlier that I paid my Home Depot bill 4 days late! Can't believe I read the due date wrong last month! $25 late fee! First time late on that bill! Plus, I need to go there tomorrow morning to buy a new extension ladder. Mine was stolen about a week ago from my backyard! It was my dad's and has a crooked foot. Hope they fall using it!

Listening to some John Denver music to drown out the noise. Earplugs did not work ...

Found at least 3 origami projects I want to try out in the ebooks I got yesterday. A cute little papoose, an angel and a haunted house (which will be great for next year.)

Bedtime for the critters. Yay! Nikky is waiting to go out and then to her room. Then feed the bunnies and doves and turn out all the lights. Then I'll watch another episode of the new Ironside that I found. I thought I had all of them since it's already been cancelled.
