August 31, 2013

I don't feel like I accomplished much with the shed today ... It is just so damn muggy or hot or something. I was sweating buckets within minutes! It's only about 86F right now, but feels hotter. Humidity is only 37% ... hmmm. But, with my mom's help, we got the middle hinge off the door. Then, I painted over that area and also the left panel beside the door. I'll put the new hinge on tomorrow and do the second coat on that side. And, try to remove another hinge ... I need to move the box that covers the main drain connection and paint it at some point. It's all slowly coming along. Once I get the hardware replaced, the rest of the shed is easy to do. The touch-ups and edging will be last. I also have the little section of wooden fence to pull out, too ...
Going to have a smoothie for lunch, then clean cages. After that, I'll be putting the other 2 bookshelves together.

Oh, and this morning I went and got the hay for the bunnies and stopped at the post office and store. So, busy day already ...

I only got one bookshelf together. I'll do the other tomorrow. Only have 4 milk crates left to empty. Room is already looking a bit less disorganized ... kind of ...
Oh, and I finally put the bicycle cart together. I love it. It is so much more sturdy than the one that was stolen. It's made much better than the other. It even has a solid floor. And, it cost less than the other one. So, they make carts better for dogs than for kids ... hmmm.

Until I am done with the shed, the ebike and cart stay in the house.
Nikky wants to know if it's time to go out, yet.
Going to watch the original The Blob movie tonight!

August 30, 2013

Arrgh. It's hot! I'm sweating buckets. I just got done changing the lock on the shed door. I also painted some of the other hardware (house numbers, screws, lock, nuts and bolts ...) I had to improvise and make my own bolts as I couldn't find the right size at the hardware stores this morning. So, I bought 2 three-foot threaded rods and hack-sawed them to size. Put a cap nut on one end and a wing nut on the other. Worked great! Did a second coat of gray on the door and the red on the lintel and side panels. It's starting to look nice. Tomorrow, I'll get the door hinges changed out and the bolts made for them.
Now, I start moving furniture to get my craft room and office set up in the big living room again ... fun ...
What a mess!

I am so damn tired. Moving furniture around is exhausting. But, my office is starting to look good, even though it is very hard to tell by the pic below. Can't do more until I put another bookshelf together.
It's organized chaos! ;)

August 29, 2013

I has bought paint!! Expensive shit! Also, bought the hardware for the shed. Nice fancy black stuff. But, they did not have the bolts I need. So, tomorrow will have to hit some of the other hardware stores. The little screws that come with the hinges will not support the heavy-ass shed door. I also bought brushes, roller pads and 200 lbs. of play sand (for a different project ...) Over $500 worth of stuff (the paint was over $400) ... Luckily, I had a coupon for deferred interest for a couple of years if I pay it all off before a certain time ... we'll see ...

Going to have a smoothie for lunch and then get to work on the shed and moving my eBike in the house since the shed door will be off for a couple of days.

Well, I got some painting done. Getting the bolts loose on the door hinges is going to be a bitch. I was getting over-heated fighting with them. So, gave up for the day and started painting. I'll do a neater job tomorrow after I go to the farm for milk.
I am really starting to like that color ...

Moved the cable box from my mom's room to the living room TV. For some reason, I can't get the darn thing to work with the dvd combo player ... Will try again in a few days when my brain cells aren't fried so much.

Had some nice deliveries today. The bunnies' new food arrived. I'll give them some tonight before bed and see if they like it. And, the dog cart arrived! I haven't taken it out of the box, yet. Too tired to put it together tonight. I still have two bookshelves to put together ... But, they will have to wait until I am done with the shed, I think.

August 28. 2013

Wow. Got the bill for our space rent and the water portion is nearly double what it usually is. Glad I won't have to wash the trailer again any time soon!
Just got done unloading 3 bookshelf units from the car that I bought at Big Lots. $30 each. I'll start putting them together later. We've needed them for a while. I can finally get rid of all the mix of old milk crates I've used for years. Some of them we've had since we had the restaurant in the '80s! My books will actually be on bookshelves soon!! I need to get 3 more before the end of the ad, too ...

I will be getting the paint tomorrow and start on painting the shed and changing out its old hardware. I can't wait really. But, there is a sale that starts tomorrow, so I will wait.  I'm off until next Tuesday. So, I hope to get a lot done.

I now have 30 stores on my route! My manager is still trying to find someone to take 2 of my stores that I want to drop. So, if she can, I'll have 28 stores. If not, I will keep them ... I need the money, anyway ...

My trace minerals arrived. Adding them to my water jugs. Took me a while to find a good quality source. This one is called ConcenTrace and has 72 trace minerals from the Great Salt Lake. Everyone that doesn't get their water from a spring should get something like this to add to their water (it can be added to juice or any other cold liquid, too.) We are all deficient in many of the trace minerals we should be getting.

I just finished putting one of the shelf units together. I'm updating my Vista laptop now and using it. We are moving stuff back into the big living room. I'll be moving my office back in here slowly over the next week or so. Right now, I'm just sitting on the couch. My mom is re-organizing all the VHS tapes and DVDs ... I can't believe how many things are already out-of-date on this laptop.

Ezra is having fun running through all the rooms and finding all of his toys that are strewn everywhere.

Time for Criminal Minds, then CSI!

August 27, 2013

Whew. It's hot out there. I got home from work about an hour ago and have been outside most of that time. I stopped at Home Depot for a couple of samples of the paint I want on the house. So, I was testing it on different surfaces, since it has to cover both wood and aluminum siding. It doesn't look bad. I really like the gray. And, the red isn't too bad. It matches the fence inserts I put in earlier this year. It's not really as red as it looks in this picture. That's the door of my shed - the red is just going to frame the door, the rest will be gray with black hardware. The paint covers really well. I hope to get the shed painted over the weekend. I decided that I'm just going to paint by brush. I'm tired of trying to rely on others. I don't care how long it takes, I'm doing it all myself a little at a time.
I took the old monitor, 3-in-1 printer and 2 scanners to the recycler this morning. I got a whole $3 for them! :( But, at least they will get processed safely, I would hope.  Couldn't find Martin this morning to help me load the old TV in the car, though. So, it will have to wait until next week. I did just now get it out to the deck with my mom's help. We put it on the floor and then I drug it out the door. That old thing is heavy! But, at least it is out of here. So, she can rearrange the other furniture the way she wants ...

Having leftovers of some sort tonight. Can't decide which I want ... I'm not really hungry. I had a cacao/banana smoothie about an hour ago.

Nikky had a banana and chicken feet for dinner! She is stuffed and sleeping now.

I just got offered about ten new-to-me stores on my route. I chose 6 and am giving up 2 others that I've wanted to drop for a while. Helps compact my route a little more, so I'm not traveling so far to just do one store here or there. These new stores are all close to other stores I already do.

I've decided that my indoor winter project will be replacing the flooring. I'll start in the living room. I can't wait to get rid of the damn carpeting. I hate carpet!

Must eat something ...

August 26, 2013

Robin and Sheriff had some 'outside their cage' time this morning. Robin has a habit of jumping out when the door is open (a 2-foot drop!) So, I just let Sheree out, too. Nikky and Ezra had fun running around with them. Sheree is easy to put back in the cage. Just set one of the food bowls on the floor and there he is. He's all about the food! But, Robby has to be chased down and captured! Spent 20 minutes trying to get him back in.

Looks like my CC over-charge got corrected. That's good.

I found out a great thing today when I went to the co-op after work. They offer what's called 'bunny boxes'! This is the leftover cuttings, organic veggies that fall on the floor and can't be sold, etc. that would otherwise just go in the garbage. You get a box and they fill it for you. OMG! My spoiled rabbits will be eating well for the next week. I am going to try to get a box every week for them. The best part ... it's FREE!! They really pack the box full, too. I just finished cutting enough to fill 3 gallon-sized bowls and the box is still full! I know some of it will go bad before it's used, so next time, I'll know not to grab such a big box for them to fill. But, it sure will help me with the cost of their food. I spend at least $15 a week feeding them fresh food, plus $14.05 a week on the organic meadow hay ... so, it gets really expensive to feed 2 buck rabbits real food.
Whew. I just ordered a bunch of books! Both of Chris Colfer's Land of Stories series. John Barrowman's Bone Quill (2nd in his Hollow Earth series - I already have the first) and I pre-ordered Exodus Code (his first book in the Torchwood world.) I also got the tenth book in the Supernatural series and 4 books for my mom.

Got another damn letter from the county just like the one a few months ago, saying that my mom is no longer getting Medi-Cal as she failed to complete the redetermination process. Whatever! I thought this was cleared up already! If not, they should have contacted us sooner than 5 days before it ends!! Arrrgh. Like I have time to deal with this by Friday ...

Ugh. I can't believe my book order has a ship date of 9/24 on all of the books when only one of them is a pre-order. They should all be in stock! Great. My mom's going to bug me for a month about 'when are my books coming ...'

Trying to win a 32GB micro SD card for my new camera, on eBay. I thought I had one, but can't find it. I can find the regular-sized SD cards, but not that one.

Yay. I won the micro SD card! I'll be able to take more than two pictures at a time on the camera, now!

August 25, 2013

Love the weather this morning. Cloudy and cool.

I ordered a free sample of some organic rabbit food last night that I want to try on the boys. I can't find any rabbit pellets like I used to get when I raised rabbits in the '80s. Even the organic on the store shelves is mostly cheap filler not fit for the compost heap (soybean hulls - really)!! I ordered from Sherwood Forest (perfect for Robin and Sheriff!) and their food has only about nine ingredients and none of it is filler. And, the pellets are truly green ... not the faded green or brown stale-looking pellets from the store. And, even with shipping, the price is comparable to buying at the store. I feed them very little pellets, mostly fresh foods and organic meadow hay. They haven't had any pellets for about two weeks, which is fine. But, there are times when I can't get the fresh food right away and they need some back-up besides the hay, especially with 'weed' season nearly over (any weeds that grow in our yard go to the bunnies.)

Finished getting the old caulk off the door and all the screws are replaced. I hope to re-caulk tomorrow after work, if I'm not home too late. And, I have a very bruised knuckle ... darn hammer ... arnica and ice for the rest of the day ... after I get the old carpet from the deck in the garbage can, somehow ...

There is a really nice breeze out today. I'd love to do more outside, but I still have a ton of other things I need to do ...

Having a Canadian bacon sandwich on rye bread with organic cheddar cheese and red pepper flakes for lunch. Mmm.

Third load of laundry in the washer. Have 2 or 3 more loads I want to get done today. Washing lots of bedding today. Haven't done that in a while.

Damn! John Barrowman and Scott Gill are going to Sutter's Fort in Sacramento. My luck, if I left now, they'd be gone by the time I got there! They are having a fun little vacation, travelling around by car. I love John's tweets.

Getting all of my old electronics, etc. piled in the living room to get them ready to pile in the car next week to take to the recycle place. They pay for 'junk' electronics and old TVs at a place I pass by in Sacramento. So far, I have the old big TV, the old monitor, 2 scanners, and 1 3-in-1 printer ... I probably have more around here somewhere ... I hope to take them on Tuesday.

I had to move my opening date from September to December for my website store. With all the work I need to do on the house in the next few weeks, along with my regular work, there's just no time to concentrate on building the website! Sucks.

I'll be buying the paint for the house on Thursday. I'll most likely paint the shed next weekend. I'll be bringing my eBike into the house, as I will have to take the shed door off to replace the hardware (hinges, lock, etc.) I'll be buying new hardware, too. Just so much to do!

Ugh. There is a mis-charge on my new CC account! It's in the pending section, so if it is still there tomorrow, I'll have to dispute it. $75.00 at the gas station! It is right under the actual charge I made! And, I don't have the receipt for my actual charge! Damn!

I just bought a bottle of trace minerals to add to my water. Water is so stripped and processed these days that there are no good minerals left in it. I already add pure sea salt, but the extra minerals should help, too.

Time to watch a silent movie - Intolerance - Love's Struggle Through The Ages. It's from 1916!!

August 24,2013

It's been a nice day.
I got 3/4 of the old caulk off of the side door and almost 3/4 of the screws replaced. Hope to finish it tomorrow. I may have to forego doing the rest of the windows and doors ... it is taking me forever to get them done before we start painting. I am getting the paint next week ... I am not counting on anyone helping me, as usual. Neighbor is not really reliable about doing stuff ... So ... I can always do the re-caulking after the painting is done and just do touch-ups as I can.

I finally gave up on the old monitor to my XP computer. The computer still works great, but 90% of the time the monitor wouldn't turn on. I even had it 'on' for two weeks once and it never came on ... so, I just attached my smallest old TV and made it a monitor!
It's a bit fuzzy but, for what I use it for, it will do.

Did I mention a while back I realized I have 2 buck rabbits? Yeah, they are both boys. So, they are Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. I still call Sheriff, Sheree. So, the name still works. Since I always nickname my critters. Robin is Robby most of the time. I think Sheree is part Californian. He's gotten huge. He was sooo tiny when I found him. I think he is bigger than Robby now.

They are both gorgeous boys.

Time to take Nikky out and watch an old horror classic, The Wolf Man with Lon Chaney, Jr.

August 22, 2013

Yesterday was kind of twisty as far as work goes. My manager, Viola, and I went to set up our displays in a new store ... but, apparently stores have to have several different permits. Sacramento county makes them get a permit to build and open a store, but they need a different permit to actually stock the shelves to sell things! They were still waiting on their shelf-stocking permit! So, we couldn't set up. I will be going back tomorrow, if the permit and inspection passed, to set it all up by myself since Vi is already committed to helping someone else that day. Really messed up both of our schedules since I am trying not to work on Fridays ... oh, well. We did go and service 3 of my other stores and she also told me that there are about 5 more stores that I can have that one of the other reps had to give up. She'll be sending me a list and I can pick the ones I want. I know I will take at least one of them.

It's been a nice day. I got 3 stores serviced. I also stopped at the big produce stand in Dixon and the Co-op in Davis and bought lots of great food! And, I even found 2 different packaged (yes, I know ...) cookies that are made with real ingredients and no soy, canola, agave, wheat or corn! I think I am in love with Amy's Organic Shortbread cookies after just one bite! The other is Jovial Fig-filled cookies. Taste waaaay better than the old-fashioned fig Newtons we grew up with (yuck.)

I just splurged again. I finally bought a bicycle cart to replace the one that was stolen with my old bike a few months ago. This one is made specifically for pets and cheaper than my old one, but better made! And, it's blue to match my ebike! Now, I can take Nikky for rides again. And, I can still carry groceries in it, too.

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

August 20, 2013

OK. So, WalMart decided to switch my WM credit card into a Discover card ... and raise my credit limit almost $2000! So, I spent the morning splurging, of course ... oh, boy. I'll be paying for it for a while, of course. But, I finally got a decent camera (I hope) and a current Android 7" tablet. And, a new rolling pack to carry my work stuff. And, some food & 2 pairs of jeans.
The camera is a Samsung WB30F. It was $90. The most I have ever paid for a camera. It better be worth it! Just having a rechargeable battery makes it a winner. Wow, I can even make videos with it and it has a microphone. Fancy.
Old camera, above. New camera, below.
And, I didn't buy a memory card, because I have one somewhere around here ... one of those mini ones ... I'll have to hunt for it.

I am sooo tired. Two days in a row something woke me up around 2:30am. I'm taking melatonin tonight. I really need to sleep as I am working with Viola, my manager, tomorrow.

OMG. The tablet I bought has a camera, too! Will be great for work. Hopefully, it will work with the keyboard I bought for the other tablet that never worked right ... will test it out later.

I need to fix the armrest on my desk's slide-out keyboard tray. The old paper is starting to peel off. I don't want to buy a whole roll of contact paper to fix it. So, I might d├ęcoupage it ... hmmm. I need to do something. It's sticky.

I really need to get off my butt and take the paint form to the office to get the paint colors approved. I have to buy the paint by the end of the month, as I have a coupon that expires then!

I like my little tablet, but it won't accept stylus tapping, only finger ... I wonder if there is a free app for that? It works great with my external keyboard, though! Charging the battery now. I do need to get some velcro squares to make it stop sliding out of the keyboard case. For now I'll use big rubber bands. I have plenty of those.
And, Nikky is waiting impatiently to go out before bed.
The new camera is nice, but I really need to find the microSD card as it can only hold two pics internally at a time.

Sunday, August 18, 2013

August 18, 2013

I've spent the day feeling like I've done an incredible amount of nothing ... even if it's not true ...
I did get the water heater closet re-caulked all around. I hope to get the side door done tomorrow if I get home early enough from work. I need to finish replacing the screws and then re-caulk it. But, it is supposed to get over 100F again tomorrow (same as today ...), so I might not get to it.

Having yummy baked pork spare ribs with a mug of raw milk and half an organic Fuji apple with cream cheese and cinnamon on top. Mmmm.
I had planned on working on my website and also burning a couple more CDs, but I didn't ... :(

I just splurged and bought the full version of the Jigsaws Galore program to create my own jigsaw puzzles. I'm already loving it!

Saturday, August 17, 2013

August 17, 2013

I'm having some excellent spaghetti squash. Mmm. With a mug of raw milk.
And, for dessert - raspberries and blackberries in raw cream! So darn good.
I didn't do a whole lot today, but I did get some things done.
Rabbit and dove cages cleaned. Doves flew around in their room for a bit and then took them out to the deck for some fresh air once the cages were clean. Rolled the rabbits out there, too, while I cleaned the floor. Nikky supervised them out there! ;)
Two loads of laundry done.
Cleaned one of the fridges when I made one of our big water jugs leak out (which made the second of the loads of laundry necessary.) Fridge got flooded and so did the floor in front of it.
Burned two music CDs and a movie.
And, now working on a design for a postcard or ATC. I think it's going to be cute.

Here's the ATC I made:

Tomorrow, I really need to work on my website for my shop. But, now, I am going to watch the movie, Sunshine. Haven't seen it in years! Wish I could find the series ...

Tuesday, August 13, 2013

August 13, 2013

It's been a long day. I serviced 2 stores in 2 different towns and had to deal with several detours along the way. Also stopped at the big produce stand and got Romaine lettuce for the bunnies and a couple of potatoes.
After I got my paper work done, I worked on the side door for about an hour. I got about 1/4 of the screws replaced and 1/4 of the old grout chipped off. I'll try to do more tomorrow.
I stopped at the thrift store next door to one of the stores I serviced and picked up a couple of things for a couple of swaps due this week. I'll package them up later. I love thrift swaps. They're like little treasure hunts.

I don't want to do anything but read Mag7 fanfic lately. ;)

Monday, August 12, 2013

August 12, 2013

Yay! No work today. The main office in RI is closed today. I don't work when they don't.
So, today will be more of the same as yesterday. I'll burn a couple of albums and a movie. I'll work on my website. I'm going to make some chia sun tea and maybe some lemonade later. I also need to fix something on my TV ... not that I watch much TV any more ...

Well, I got 2 albums and a movie burned. And, I worked on my website. I decided to nix the blog site and opened up a Wix website. I really like it. Thanks to my friend, Winter, for suggesting it. Really easy to use and lots of functionality. Have most of the pages set up and will be working on the shopping area after work tomorrow.

Time to work on my TV now.

Ugh. Still won't work. I'll have to call the cable company. It's the little analog converter box that is not working. It worked the first day I activated it, but after that nada. I just get a message on the screen that there is a problem ...

I had to call the cable company and have the box re-activated! This better not happen every time I want to use it ...

Now, to fix the wiring for the little box that turns a TV into a computer monitor. Ezra chewed through it a while back ... brat.

I fixed the PC to TV gadget. I actually had another cord that matched from some other gadget that I don't use! So, I don't have to fix the wire, which is good since I can't find my black electrical tape. I replaced it.

Sunday, August 11, 2013

August 11, 2013

Today I hope to work on my website. I need to get the pages sorted by category (books, crafts, graphic arts, etc.) And, figure out how to integrate all of them to accept the shopping cart. Fun ...

I sure haven't accomplished much yet today. I burned some music and a movie. Made two postcards ... and made a smoothie for lunch ... must work on website!!!

I finally finished a set of 100 paper beads to put up on Listia later. Waiting for them to dry completely to take the pics.

I'm giving away: Handmade Paper Beads - 100. Check it out -

Breakfast for dinner! Yum. Pork chorizo scrambled eggs with black olives. Spicy goodness! And, raw milk on the side. ;)
Still tweaking my website. Having trouble getting the darn header to center right ...

WooHoo! I did it. It fits my large monitor the way I want! Hope it fits for others! Check it out and let me know!

Tomorrow, I start adding stuff.

Saturday, August 10, 2013

August 10, 2013

My knee is still killing me.

And, Sheree woke me up before 6:30 throwing a tantrum - thumping her cage floor very loudly. She's been doing it for 30 minutes now! Spoiled brat.

Have cages to clean and hope I don't bump my knee ...

Done. Critters are cleaned up and well-fed. No outside time, though. I was hoping Martin would be cleaning the siding, but not yet ...

My knee is not happy.

Listening to Jim Croce music. Good stuff.

Danny Kaye music. What fun old songs.

Well, Martin never showed up to clean the walls ... grrr.

I'm giving away: Promise Me (Myron Bolitar series) by Harlan Coben - Hardcover with dust jacket. Check i

I'm giving away: The Jester by James Patterson & Andrew Gross - Paperback - Used. Check it out -

I think I finally found a free shopping cart tool to use in my QuinGem's Creations blog! I'll be working on it for a while, but hopefully will have it all up and running in September, if everything goes to plan. It's through Mercantec E-Commerce Express.

Friday, August 9, 2013

August 9, 2013

It's Friday! Time to go to the farm for some fresh milk. Need to pick up hay for the bunnies at the pet shop around the corner (they special order organic meadow hay for me.) Will drop off the swaps at the post office, too. When I get home, I'll start replacing those screws in the awning and along the eaves. The temps are nice outside today.

Damn. I'm broke already. Over $60. to fill up the Camry gas tank!!! Ugh. My first time filling it up. Now to see how long that lasts. Hopefully, two weeks since it has a bigger tank than the Tercel had.

Making a smoothie for lunch. I'm addicted to the cacao/banana. Then outside to work on replacing those missing/rusted screws. I need to clear the potted plants off of the deck, too. Martin is finally going to wash the other side of the house, he said ...

Well, wonderful. Did you know there is a 'funny bone' in your knee? I hit mine on the faucet head, getting off the ladder when I was done replacing all the screws in the door frame of the water heater closet. It was missing half of them. Anyway, that ended my work outside. I'm dying. Took 2 willow bark capsules, a nerve tonic caplet, put arnica gel on my knee and now an ice pack and it's still killing me. The pain is shooting up my femur into my hip. It's been nearly 30 minutes and it's not letting up ...

Robin and Sheree are having their first taste of cantaloupe. It's a winner.

I'm still in a lot of pain. My kneecap is really mad. Huge bruise. Can't touch it. Or, bend it ...

Mmmm. Chicken. Eating half a bird for dinner. Had a bit of cantaloupe, too. I don't really like melons.

I'm giving away: Jumbo Rubber Bands - 5. Check it out -

I'm giving away: 20 various used USA stamps. Check it out -

I'm giving away: 8 Tea Bag Covers & 12 Tea Tags - for crafts - USED. Check it out -

I'm giving away: Prey by Michael Crichton - Hardcover with dust jacket. Check it out -

I'm giving away: Face The Fire (Three Sisters Island Trilogy #3) by Nora Roberts - Hardcover with dust j

I'm giving away: Northern Lights by Nora Roberts - Hardcover with dust jacket. Check it out -

I'm looking into a free and easy shopping cart to use on my QuinGem's Creations blog. I'm thinking about ZenCart, but if there's a better free one, I'd like to know about it.

I am no longer visiting Google+ or Facebook, directly. I just don't have time to go through all the posts. I do have them set up for cross-posting with Twitter, though. So, you'll still see some posts from me there. And, I do check when comments/notifications, etc. come through my email.

I can't believe my knee is still killing me. I even resorted to taking acetominophen ... now my tongue is numb (it's a side effect I always get with that crap.) But, it didn't help. :( So, looks like my plans for working outside over the weekend are shot. BUT! I will hopefully get some work done on my website and setting up a selling page on it if I can find a cart I like!

Going to soak my feet in Epsom salts. It may help the pain in my knee. Epsom salts is magnesium, which is good for your joints/bones.

August 8, 2013

I spent the morning replacing all the innards of my mom's toilet. What fun! Took almost 4 hours! The bolts that held the tank were so corroded, I finally had to wiggle a hacksaw between the tank and the pedestal and saw through the bolt. Putting it all back together was a breeze and only took about 20 minutes. Working perfectly now.

I vacuumed all the rooms and did a load of laundry, too. Plus, got two swaps together, packaged, to mail tomorrow.

I've finally decided on a new design for my online shop. I haven't touched the shop in a couple years and I really need to overhaul everything! Anyway, it is a picture of Robin when we first got him. Some of you have seen my Twitter icon. That's the pic I'm gonna sell on stuff.

I really need to get a new camera. One with a rechargable battery ... do they even make those? I have to look into that. I want to get some nice pics of the critters and some of my flowers to use as design bases. I need to start making money online again.

I changed one of my YahooGroups again. I've revived my old QuinGem's Creations group. I closed it years ago. I'm surprised I was able to use the same address name. So, no more healthy food group, although I'll probably still share that kind of thing, too. The occasional new Incredimail stationery. But, it will mainly still be my blog and crafts and stuff for sale that I share there ... eh. So, if you're interested -

August 5, 2013

It's a sad day in file-sharing land ... Pando is closing at the end of the month. I really liked using that service ... oh, well. None of my friends liked it, so it was hard to share with them using it ...

Serviced 1 store today. Had a reset project. Will service 3 tomorrow and 1 on Wed. Then will work on the house the rest of the week.

I bought the parts for my mom's toilet. I'll be working on that on Wed. when I get home. It will take several hours, as I have to remove the tank completely.

Took my car through the car wash before work today. Hope to keep doing that at the beginning of every month. I used to do that when I first inherited the Tercel, but then gave up when the burgundy paint started fading (I see that color fade on a large number of cars. It's not very stable.)

Took all the donations to GoodWill on the way home. I'll be going through some more bins and cabinets this weekend and hope to get rid of a few more things.

I stopped at Trader Joe's when I was done working and got more organic produce for the bunnies and us. We'll be having fajitas with some of the spinach. We have rice tortillas, butter, sliced beef, olives, tomato and Cheddar cheese, too. Yum.

August 4, 2013

It's been a nice, lazy day, so far.
Got one load of laundry done.
Got a few more things together for GoodWill.
Picked up my mom's new TV that arrived earlier than expected. I'll be hooking it up after lunch.
Making a smoothie for lunch.

Got my mom's TV hooked up. It's very computerish ...
Also, disovered her toilet leaks ... so, have to get new innards for the tank tomorrow. Hers' are all rusty/corroded. Who knows how long there's been a leak. She didn't notice it 'running'. Fairly easy fix. I replaced mine when we moved in.

Just ordered more airtime and service days for my cell phone. I don't really need the minutes, but the service days are almost up ...

I'm only working 2 days this week, so I hope to get more screws replaced in the siding. I got the skirting edge done last week. Next is the eaves. Fun. Ladder work ...

I sure wish I'd had the money to go to the first Magnificent Seven convention this weekend. I would have loved to have met Anthony Starke (aka Ezra P. Standish - my cat's namesake.) Oh, well. I'll never get down to L.A. even though it may become a yearly thing ... But, I did finally download the Magnificent Seven theme as my ringtone!

And, for those who think Stargate is my main fandom love. Uh-uh. It's Mag7! And, it was long before Stargate arrived.

I think I need to watch some tonight after I watch a silent movie.

Time for dinner! Pork shoulder steak, steamed broccoli (my mom used the NuWave and burned the florets ...) with melted raw cheddar cheese & red pepper flakes, and raw milk. Mmmmm.

8 am
Got bills paid and grocery shopping done yesterday. This morning, we take Ezra to get his rabies shot. Poor boy. If I didn't have to show proof of vaccines with the park management (a copy is kept in our file), I wouldn't bother since he is never outside unless in a pen or on a harness/leash and never unsupervised ... then, when we get home it's cage-cleaning time for the rabbits and doves and vacuuming. I hope to get a bunch of stuff sorted for GoodWill and taken out to the car later today. Have lots of stuff I want to get rid of (since we didn't have a yard sale) that I don't want to put in my Bonanza shop.

Ezra was a good boy (after I clipped his nails and brushed him - he was mad about that ...) So, he is good and legal for another year. I'll give the office a copy of his certificate on Monday.

I made my mom come with us, as I had to stop at the Pet Factory to pick up the organic hay for the rabbits that they ordered for me and didn't want to take him all the way home and then come back out. So, I was able to leave him in the car with the air on and not worry since she was with him.

Got home and started cleaning cages. The doves are done and out on the deck. The rabbits are out on the deck, but I still need to get their trays clean. Floors are done. But, I will finish their cages after I finish my BACON! I need to get more on Monday. This is the last of it. :( I forgot to get more yesterday when we went shopping.

Cages are done. Critters are back inside. Load of laundry running in the washer.

Got the new wiper blades on the car. Straightened up my work supplies in the trunk.
Put the cat carrier back in the shed.
Time to hang up the laundry on the line.

Going to BBQ later. Pork leg roast and sweet potatoes.

Sorting through bins and getting stuff bagged for GoodWill now.

All the laundry is in and put away.
Dinner was great and I am stuffed!
Got 3 bags and 2 boxes of donations in the car. Will go through some more things tomorrow.

Just waiting for the ashes in the BBQ to cool off.

I have 3 swaps due later this week, so I need to get those sorted in the next couple of days, so I can mail on Wed.

August 1, 2013

It's been a really busy few days, dealing with the cars and some other things. But, my little Tercel is now finally totally legal and I now have it parked in my cousin's driveway. He will be selling it for me. And, he has signed over his 2002 Camry to me. We'll take all the paperwork to the DMV once the Tercel is sold, as I am keeping my personalized plate. That way, we'll do everything in one visit, hopefully. I was at the Woodland DMV to get the 2014 sticker for the Tercel today for 3 freakin' hours!! Ridiculous. I should have went to the office in Davis ... But, at least that is done.
Next week, I'll be checking out some different car insurance places as I want to try to get full coverage on the Camry and the place I use for the Tercel is too expensive (& I only have the legal basic insurance on it ...)
Tomorrow will be a busy day. Paying bills, grocery shopping and going to the farm ...
Curtis wants me to wait until he is back from vacation to paint as he has a power sprayer that I can use. He doesn't have time before he leaves to get all of it over here. But, I still have to re-caulk all the windows and doors, so plenty of time.
My mom's new TV finally shipped this morning. So, hopefully, it will arrive next Thursday, according to the tracking.
Saturday, I have to take Ezra to the shots clinic. I hate that he has to have a rabies shot EVERY year, by law, since he's a cat. They are having the clinic at the local Tractor Supply, so it's not far. I need to get the travel kennel out of the shed tomorrow and get it ready.

Yummy dinner of homemade lentil soup made with lamb broth and ground lamb, plus some potatoes, carrots, onion and spices. Along with blackberries in raw cream and a glass of raw milk.
I haven't eaten anything else today.

I finally had to change out my wallet today. My old one was falling apart. So, I dug around in one of the bins of antiques and found a brand new Amity cowhide wallet still in the box that is actually about 40 years old. Never used. And, the Tandy company doesn't make them any more!
