Another rainy day. Love it! Staying home today and tomorrow. Low on gas, of course. So will be able to work Wed. I should be able to fill up the gas tank on Thurs. as I get paid and so does my mom.

Gotta go to the mailbox today, as it is probably full and damp ... But, the neighbor's car is nearly blocking my driveway ... and is blocking where I put my garbage can for the garbage man today ... grrr. But, she should be leaving for her work soon ...

I have some cleaning I want to get done today ...

Whew! Got the third load of laundry in the washer. Cleaned the laundryroom floor; wiped down the chest freezer, washer and dryer; swept the carport stairs and deck; shook out the rugs; wiped down the door inside and out. And, foraged for food for the bucks. They are having sweet alyssum for dinner tonight.

It is pouring rain! Love it! Took a pic of mama dove earlier. Papa dove is on the nest, but you can't see him with the post in the way.
The squabs should hatch sometime in the next week! I can't wait to see them!

I got a batch of chicken bone broth started. We are almost out of broth again!

I found a new craft I want to make! But, I don't have any repositionable glue ... so, it has to wait a bit for that part. I have everything else. They are cute little matchbook sticky notes! But, I'm going to make some that aren't stickies, too. I received a plain one in a swap and got the idea.

So much for wanting to do nothing today ...
My mom wants me to move her bedroom door ... AGAIN!!!! This will be about the fifth time since we moved in here (same with the bathroom door ...) She wants it to open in, then she wants it back where it was. Then, she wants it to open out. No, now she wants it to open the opposite way. There are so many holes in the jamb, I don't know how it stays up ... ridiculous. And, I don't have the money to replace the jamb if it needs it later on from so many holes ...

I just want to make a flower for the swap, but now can't do it until later ...

I am so mad. And, my mom knows it. Nearly three fuckin' hours working on that damn door of hers! I told her, I'm not moving any more doors ever again. She has to live with how they are now. I had to plane and sand the door & had to reverse the little door jamb stops. Any of you who have ever lived in an old mobile home know how fragile those little stops are. And, they are installed with tiny staples that can only be put in by a staple gun. So, I had to carefully remove each of those staples and NOT crack the wood so the stops would lay flush with the jamb, which I amazingly did! That is what took the longest time. Then I had to use my tiniest drill bit to drill holes and tiny nails I luckily had to put them in their new place. Plus, I had to chisel a new hole for the door knob latch! ... I am so over it! But, it is done. Forever. Not doing that again.
I hate this door!
Too many holes ...
You can see one of the many nail heads in that very thin little strip. And you can sort of see the lighter area to the left of it where the strip used to be ...

Yay! It's raining. I didn't think we would get any today. It was sunny most of the day. At least I got Nikky's yard cleaned and foraged for the bucks' lunch, dinner and tomorrow's breakfast.

I finally found the flower I'm going to make. I'm going to loom knit it and make a button center and add a pin-back to make it a brooch. That's the plan, anyway. Now, to find the colors ...

Finally! I finished the flower. It turned out kind of cute. I did it on my Bloom Loom knitting loom. I just can't get the hang of crochet! I ended up using the black and burgundy wool I found at the thrift store last month. And, it didn't give me a rash!
This image is a little dark, but close to the true colors.

The lighting on this made the burgundy almost pink ... :( I hot-glued the pinback, but also threaded some matching embroidery floss around it ...
Anyway ... on to my next crafty project on Tuesday.  I might make more flowers. That was kind of fun ...

March 29, 2014

Hopefully, this will be a lazy day ... other than cleaning cages ... I have a bunch of articles I want to read and I really need to get that crocheted or knitted flower done for a swap due next week.

The Mourning dove is still in the plant hanger! I have no idea if she has eggs under her, but this is her chosen spot. She has been eating, though, as some seed is scattered around the food bowl.

Got all the cages clean and also went out to check on the dove. We has eggsss!
Sheriff and Robin are happy to have clean cages and food. Sheree is an unending pit and eats constantly! ;)
Happy doves. I think they'd be happier if I gave them nests ...
Mama Mourning dove in the rain.

Mama was not happy with me being so close today, so flew over to the neighbor's carport awning. So, I got to see that she has TWO eggs! What a cute little nest! She will get upset tomorrow ... I am going to add another support bungee to the planter to make sure it will stay if the old one breaks (that blue one has been on there since last year and they DO rot out.)
Mama hopped right back on the nest when I went in the house. Good girl!

Having the last of my hibiscus sun tea ... won't be able to make more until next week ... maybe. We have clouds and rain forecast all week.

Ooh. My mom is making tapioca for lunch! Yum! I was going to make a smoothie, but this might be enough.

That was not nearly enough for me to eat. I had some nuts, too. Still hungry ... Going to make hard-boiled eggs in a bit.

Eggs are on the stove. Lots of small eggs. The farmer gave me 2 dozen free on Thursday as he has a lot of new, young hens and they lay small right now.

Finished 2 loads of laundry, made hard-boiled eggs, dehydrating the eggshells and made these postcards to be mailed on Tuesday. One of them is for the PostCrossing swap.

Just saw daddy dove at the food bowl outside. Didn't get a pic, though. It's in a good spot for him to keep an eye on mama dove and the nest, too.

Time for my favorite hot tea. Guayaki Yerba Mate Chocolatté. Topped with milk. Mmmmmm.

Just finished this ATC for a swap next week.

March 28, 2014

We are supposed to have more wonderful rain the next few days. It's cloudy, but the rain is not supposed to happen until later today.

Stayed home again due to lack of gas or money to get more ... well, I have about $13, but will save it to get gas on Monday and hope to get a few of my stores done then.

I need to work on my car today, anyway. I have a dead bulb in one of the brake lights. Hope I have a spare around here or I will have to wait until next Thursday to replace it.

I want to vacuum the car later, too. If it warms up a bit outside.

I can't seem to warm up again this morning.

The Mourning dove is still nesting on the deck planter.

Time to get my bedroom straightened up. The exercise equipment I moved in there the other day has just been sitting in the middle of the room. Need to put it where it now belongs. I also have some computer cables and such to get sorted so I can get it all listed in my shop.

OK. That didn't take too long to get my floor space back in my room! And, I vacuumed my room. Still have a couple of things I can't decide where to put. But, my oldest computer (XP) is in the closet and out of the way, too, now. I really need to get to cleaning the paneling in there and get pictures and such hung where I want them. But, that will be for another day.
And, yes, that is an original Jolly Green Giant rug that I've had since I was a baby!
Two loads of laundry done.

Time to make a smoothie and then start on getting some things listed in my shops.

Made a new batch of milk kefir.

Mmm. Good smoothie. Strawberry/banana/hemp seed/maca powder raw milk kefir smoothie.
I listed these in my Bonanza shop:
Mixed Lot of Computer Cables! (10)

Making a new batch of yogurt mother culture, only have half cup left! So, using half of that to make the new one. Milk is heating right now.

Put my finished kombucha in the fridge. I'll have a bottle later.
Top shelf has raw milk kefir, raw milk yogurt and raw honeycomb. Next shelf has sun tea, buckets with bunny greens and raw kombucha.
Yogurt mothers on top of the fridge.
I have a couple things to get listed on Listia and then I'm going to be cutting out more pictures for handmade postcards and envelopes.

Car is vacuumed! Lights have all been checked and brake light seems fine ... someone had mentioned to me in a parking lot that one of my brake lights wasn't working ... hmmm.

Kombucha time!

I wish I could get a good picture of Ezra. He is sporting a gorgeous ruff around his neck that is nearly white and it's not his undercoat showing through. As he gets older, he's kind of changing color ... I've had MANY long-haired cats (some rescues, some mine) over the years and never had one do this. He will be 3 next month.

Dinner is scrambled eggs and chicken apple sausage. Raw milk with potato starch.
