First laundry load of the day is started. Cage cleaning day.

I still can't seem to shake this lung infection that started a couple weeks ago with bronchitis. Still a lot of crap to cough up from my lungs now and then. Mostly in the morning. I feel fine, other than that. :/

Such a pretty day today. Finally able to open the blinds in the Critter room and have enough sunlight to turn off all the indoor lights. Nice after cleaning cages.
Having fried eggs for lunch!
2 chicken eggs and 2 dove eggs!
The 4 youngest doves have FINALLY been moved to their own cage. I had hoped that I'd have the flight cage done by now, but no money ... So, they are in an awful cage for now. I marked the tails of Little Boy and Squabbie's chicks to tell them apart from Boy Boy & Little Girl's chicks.
Little Boy/Squabbie chicks are on the long perch at the front of the cage.
Big Boy/Little Girl chicks are on the two short perches; the one at the top is more than twice the size of the other 3!

I am thinking about making a FaceBook Page for my sales. Not sure, yet ... I really need to get organized and get stuff sold! Ugh. I am just not good at it, sometimes ... have so many things to sell.

I need to forage food for the rabbits dinner later. Already out of fresh greens. Piggies. ;)

The bunnies are 9 weeks old ...
Connor is still for sale.
Second load of laundry into the dryer!

Finished another puzzle! #4 for the year.
We've watched some good old movies the past few nights.
Tonight was That Touch of Mink; last night was The Raven; Thursday was Topper; Wednesday was Bride of Frankenstein.

Last load of laundry is finally in the dryer!

I joined another MeetUp group today that was just started. Finally one I can go to some of the MeetUps as it is very close. First meet is tomorrow. It is 'We walk Davis/Woodland' and the walk is going to be near my neighborhood! I can walk to the walk if I want to. But, tomorrow I will be going to the walk and then heading to the co-op in Davis for the Craft Circle. So, taking the car and parking at the market - the walk starts and ends there - around the corner. Busy day!

I did it!! I wired a ceiling fan! That was NOT easy and my arms are still shaking from holding that thing up to screw it into the ceiling, etc.! But it all works!
So, now my mom's room has light and she can get rid of all the little lamps everywhere that don't really shed much light.

Now, to find something to eat before I go foraging for the bunnies.

There's enough new plant growth in the yard that I won't have to go to the co-op for bunny greens until Thursday. You'd think it was already spring!

I never did find anything I want to eat. So, I had raisins and some raw butter and raw honey. Just like yesterday ...

Going to work on my puzzle for a while.

We watched Frankenstein for our dinner movie tonight. We had ½ rotisserie chicken, fresh blueberries with mascarpone and raw milk. Yum.

Time to finish the puzzle and then find a new one to make!

Done with the puzzle! This is another duplicate that will be for sale. This is the third puzzle I've finished this month.
That is 3000 pieces I've put together this year!

January 26, 2015

I've been awake since around 5:30. Couldn't go back to sleep, so got up early ... just came in from foraging the rabbits' breakfast and the critters are all up and fed. I'm so cold! It's 42°F right now.

It turned out to be a really nice day out. It is 68°F right now! I got one store serviced in Davis and went to the co-op for bunny greens. I stopped at the park before I came home, too. Played on the balance beam, swings, etc. :)

Due to the big snowstorm in the East, the main office in RI will be closed, which works out good for me ... I have no gas, so I'm not working tomorrow, either. I'll catch up on Thursday.

Tomorrow, I'll finish putting the ceiling fan up in my mom's room, finally ... if I can figure out the instructions ... found them the other day. I had misplaced them when I was first going to put it up.

Listening to more Glenn Miller music. And, working on my puzzle. And, dancing around with Nikky. haha.

I had some chai tea and a small handful of raisins for a snack. Dinner will be sweet potatoes and baked game bird. And, raw milk. And, the pear/blueberry dessert that we didn't have last night.
Tonight's movie will be Pepé! I used to watch anything with Cantinflas in it when I was little.

Wow! I don't remember Pepé being a 3-hour movie! But, it was fun to see and some parts (mainly the songs!!) I remembered!

January 25, 2015

Oh, my! I think I just found my new crafting passion that I want to learn - needle felting! Just joined a couple of FB groups to learn more about it!

My mother moved her furniture around AGAIN! So, I had to move the TV, etc. AGAIN!

I finished another puzzle last night and now starting the third for the year.
This one is for sale, as it's a duplicate.
Still fighting with the kitchen drain ... I can't really do anything drastic with the pipes until my mom's SS comes and I can risk cracking some to get to the clog, which is down past the bend in the wall ... I will have to go under the house to get to it, most likely. Until then, I pour more stuff down and plunge ...

OMG! My mother is a whiny bitch ... You'd think she was 3 and wasn't getting her way! The TV messed up while I was outside foraging and now she's throwing a tantrum because I didn't come fix it when she called for me! I was outside foraging for the rabbits' dinner, how am I supposed to hear her!?

Can't get into my work website to get my paperwork ready for tomorrow until 7pm! They are changing all of our entry forms, etc. for a new way of figuring our pay that includes mileage, etc. Still not sure if it is going to be a good thing because I think they are going to readjust some of the territories and I may lose stores. My manager says no, but I'm still unsure ... :/ Like I don't have enough things to worry about ...

Thank goodness. Everyone is fed and in bed, including my mom!
We watched House of Wax for our dinner movie tonight. Love Vincent Price.

January 24, 2015

I'm having my first smoothie in quite a few weeks. It has just been waaaay too cold! But, I was really in the mood for one today. It is soooo good. And, really thick and creamy. But, I'm also sitting in front of my little space heater! haha!

I'm listening to Daniel Vitalis' podcast episode #32. Good stuff, as always.

It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to clean cages this morning. And, I switched Kayla and Patty's cages and moved the 2 bunnies to their own cage. Kayla will be bred with Sheriff next week!! And, I need to sell at least one of the bunnies this week.

Just took these pics of the 2 doe bunnies - meet Connor and Parker! My mom named them soon after they were born ... before I'd even tried to check their gender. Connor will be sold - she is $30.00. Local pick-up only. We'll keep Parker. They are 8 weeks old today!
They are piggies, not bunnies! haha!
Naturally-fed bunnies can eat greens without any sign of diarrhea. Pelleted foods are not required to raise a healthy rabbit. These bunnies have never even seen a pellet.
The cutie on the right is the one I hope to sell. I'll be keeping the one on the left. :)

January 23, 2015

Today has gone fairly well, so far. I went to the co-op and got bunny greens and some raw beef pet food for Ezra. Then, off to 2 of my Davis stores to service them. And, then I stopped on my way home to air up all my tires (they were soooo low!!!) and to the park for some relaxing exercises. I even took off my shoes and socks! Felt so good! And, today I finally lifted my feet off the ground while hanging from the chin-up bar - just for a few seconds, but I did it!

And, when I got home, I fixed my printer/scanner!! First time in nearly 2 weeks I've been able to use the darn thing.

We are having salmon with fried potatoes for dinner. Maybe some fresh blueberries topped with mascarpone, too. And, raw milk, of course!

Tonight's dinner movie will be The Creature from the Black Lagoon! Last night, we watched Ah! Wilderness!

It's been so very foggy in the mornings, lately. Don't like ... much prefer rain!!

It'll keep you alive for another 10 years if you get yourself a laugh once a day: either provoke it, or look around in the wildest laboratory in the world, the public. - Jerry Lewis
Well, tomorrow will be a busy day with cage cleaning, messing with the kitchen drain (still!) and doing some extra socializing with the 2 bunnies and deciding if I will keep one of them. Hope to get pics of their daddy, Dakota, this weekend. Then, I'll be advertizing to sell one or both bunnies.

January 21, 2015

I got home after 5, last night. Barely time to do much of my usual things. I ate, watched an old movie (China Seas), did my paperwork, fed & bedded down the critters, then worked on my puzzle and some hot chocolate. I was so tired, I didn't get up until 7:30 this morning. One good thing yesterday! I got one of my checks in the mail! Only $58, but it will sure help today. I need more hay, drain cleaner and food! Yeah, the kitchen sink still won't clear ... and, to top it off, the mobile home park did finally turn the water off yesterday. There is so much air in the lines and so much sediment that my bathroom faucet won't work and the washer is just a trickle ... fun times around here ...

I'll clean cages after I go to the bank, etc.

Done cleaning cages. But, I have to go out after lunch (bacon!) because I forgot to get more seed for the doves!!! And, the bunnies are already out of greens!! Ugh. It is so darn foggy today. But, I gotta do it. They can't get their own food.

Back from the store and pet shop. I didn't have enough gas fumes left in the car to go to the co-op, so I had to buy a few greens at Food4Less to last until morning. :(

Almost time for dinner. Pork steaks and lentils and raw milk. Mmmm. And, G-Men!

Almost time for a new Criminal Minds! Getting my hot chocolate ready!

January 19, 2015

I am finding that I really do need this blog, as boring as it is, to get my thoughts out there. I've spent today just kind of vegging ... although, once I line things up in my mind, I can see that I've actually done things, whether I wanted to do them or not ... and, I spent several hours trying to figure out a bus route or something that would fit my day tomorrow to get everything done that I need to do ... can't do it. I don't know how people can ... it takes so long to get from point A to point B, back to A and on to D, E, F and back to A ... I just can't see it for tomorrow ... I have to go to the co-op in Davis for bunny greens in the morning, which is a 20-minute trip, at most, 20 minutes in the store (if that) and 20 minutes back home - in the car. Nearly 3 hours round-trip in the bus! There is my morning gone. I have 2 stores to service tomorrow, here in Woodland. One has 7 projects that will take me about 6 hours and the other is across the street from that one and will take maybe 45 minutes. But, with the bus, add at least 90 minutes more. So, I wouldn't get home until at least 9pm ... BUT, we can only service our stores between 8am and 5pm! Soooo, I have to put some gas in my empty gas tank in the morning and most likely get charged an over-draft if it goes through before Thursday, when I get paid ... and, Ezra is out of the only food he will eat (raw ground beef pet blend that the co-op butchers make.) I would ride my eBike (it would cut a couple of hours from the bus-ride time,) but since I am recovering from this lung infection, I can't risk it in this cold weather. And, it would still be dark before I get home ...

Watched a fun movie tonight - Annie Oakley with Barbara Stanwyck!

I listed a few VHS tapes on eBay:

There are still some people in the world that have VCRs, right!? ;) I have 3 VCRs and 2 VCR/DVD combos that all work! haha! But, my mom is going through them and getting rid of the videos she doesn't like ... we have hundreds ... doesn't seem to matter if I like them ... I'll be listing more soon and cross-posting them on other sites ...

Time to feed the babies and put them to bed so I can work on my puzzle in peace.

January 18, 2015

Well, today is a little better ... still coughing some, and using a ton of handkerchiefs, along with a stuffy headache ... but, not nearly as bad as yesterday at this time when I couldn't breathe well. I'm making another turmeric drink right now. I really want to go to the craft circle this afternoon when I go get more bunny greens at the co-op. I want to take a quilling project to work on. I have it ready, just got to kill this infection! And, I think my fever broke.

It is a much better day today. Feeling better, too. I have 3 hours to decide if I can go to the craft circle. I have to go to the co-op regardless, for the bunny greens ... and, the feed store for hay ...

OK. Going to the craft circle. I feel a lot better. That funky turmeric drink I made yesterday and today really works! I'm not completely better, but don't feel I'm contagious now! hahaha! And, don't feel matricidal ... at the moment! :/

And, just for the heck of it, here are some pics I took earlier for a photo scavenger hunt in a swap group I am in.

1 - Something textured - This is the top of my glass cutting board that I use for crafts.
2 - Something you pull - The pull on the ceiling fan in my TV room.
3 - Something fluffy - This is Patty (on the right) and her 2 fluffy bunnies.
4 - Something many would consider to be obsolete - This is my ancient rabbit ears TV antenna. We've had it since I was a baby and it still works fine.
5 - Something diced - my mom cut up an onion to make with dinner later.
6 - Something that floats - my 2 elderly scissortail rasbora.
Craft circle was fun. I started my first quilling project! I'm going to add a few more things to it before it is done.
We watched an old movie from 1935 tonight:
After Office Hours with Clark Gable! It was good.

Off tomorrow due to the holiday. I hope to get some more things listed for sale/auction. And, work on the kitchen sink drain some more. I'll get it cleared, eventually ...
Now, to work on my jigsaw puzzle.

January 17, 2015

This day has not started well ... this whole week has been hell, actually. But, it's finally caught up with me. I have bronchitis for the first time in five years and hope I can shake it before it turns to pneumonia, which it's almost always done in the past ... and, my mom started harassing me first thing this morning with complaints that Ezra messed up the antenna on her TV. Like I don't have more important things to do!! I fixed it once and five minutes later it's messed up again. So, I blew up at her ... damn it. I have a fever, I can't breathe, I have cages to clean, I have a damn kitchen drain that I still need to fix, I have bills to pay before things are shut off within the next two weeks and she's bitching about the TV! This is what I have to deal with EVERY day ... yeah, great life here ... I think I cried for nearly an hour ...

Anyway, it rained yesterday, which was nice ... other than the thick fog it was raining through ... :/

Wednesday night, I had a surprise ... Damian (male hamster) got out of his tank!!!! I don't know how long he'd been out. I barely saw him out of the corner of my eye streak under the dove cages. He had to have fallen four feet from the cabinet his tank is on! He's lucky I saw him, as it was almost time for bed and Nikky was already in bed. But, Ezra would have found him overnight. I apparently had put too much fresh bedding when I cleaned cages that day and it was just high enough for him to grab onto the lid and squeeze out! Houdini! ;) He's OK after his adventure, though.

I've decided that after these three hamsters age out, I won't be getting any more. Going to concentrate on the rabbits and doves. Kayla will be bred with Sheriff at the end of this month. Patty's babies will be sold in about two weeks. Patty will be bred with Robin in about 4 months, so she can finally have a rest from babies after four litters within about 4 months due to the neighbor's negligence before I got her. And, at least 3 of the doves will be sold in about a month.

Got all the cages cleaned. Didn't let anyone out to run around today. I feel awful.

Isn't this a pretty color? It's 12 oz. hot water, 1 tablespoon raw honey, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar and ¼ teaspoon turmeric. Gotta kick this infection by Tuesday when I go back to work.

And, now, my mom is bugging me to show her how (for the MILLIONTH time!!!!) to use the VCR/DVD player ... I just want to quit ...

And, I still can't get the kitchen drain clear ...

Must make that drink hotter next time. It cooled off too quickly ...

I am so exhausted ...

Time to plunge the sink for the zillionth time, probably to no avail ... and, heat some water for tea ... and, see if the jar of chicken broth has thawed ...

I am so tired. Having some tea. Have to fold another load of laundry ...

Hot chicken broth is so good.

I shared this pic on FaceBook yesterday. There was a post about skates and these are mine. I got them when I was around 5 (1968), I think. I never could skate worth a darn. I always landed on my butt and skinned the palms of my hands. I have no idea why I still have them!
We've watched several good movies the past few evenings:
Thursday - PT109
Friday - Lady & the Tramp
Tonight - Rock-a-bye Baby

The next 4 days will be several old movies from 1935. Oldies are the best.

Time for hot chocolate, then feed and bed down the critters before I can work on my jigsaw puzzle. Hopefully, I'll feel better tomorrow and get that damn kitchen drain cleared ...

January 13, 2015

It's been a long day! I got 4 stores serviced (2 in Woodland and 2 in West Sacramento) and went to the co-op and feed store in Davis.
The day didn't start out too good ... the kitchen sink is clogged. And, still is. I didn't get home until 4, so I will have to work on it tomorrow at some point. I couldn't clear it this morning and tried again when I got home ...
I did get my mom's TV hooked up to the digital converter and antenna, so she is happy ... I'm going to hook the rabbit ears up to the digital TV tomorrow. But, we did watch a movie over dinner ... Dracula! Tomorrow will be Five Weeks in a Balloon!

I finished this puzzle last night. I'll be starting another tonight.

Not sure what I'm going to do, but really have to cut back on some stuff this month and next. The TracFone I use for work runs out of minutes tomorrow, so I'll have to start using my mom's freebie phone (which is crap.) 15-day notice on the PG&E again ... nearly $425 ... and the internet might get shut off, too. Fun times! :(

Monday, January 12, 2015

January 12, 2015

I am feeling lazy again ... I serviced one store this morning here in Woodland. I could have done 2 others in town, but I'll do them tomorrow morning. I started the day hunting for a way to print out that mailing label. I stopped at the Staples here and found they really are finally closing on 1/17 and their printing area is already closed down! (I'll be going back on Friday to deal with my glasses display in that store ...) So, I went to Davis to the Office Depot and was able to get it printed there. Stopped at the co-op for bunny greens (didn't get much, so back I'll go tomorrow!) I also stopped at a different park near the store I serviced to check out their Little Library. Was not impressed with it or the park. There are 2 or 3 more Little Librarys in town I will check out in the future, too. I will decide on one to donate books to on a regular basis after I've checked them all.

We got a note on the door yesterday stating that the water would be turned off in the mobile home park all day today (from 10-5) for some kind of repair ... Here it is, nearly 4 and the water is still on! I saw the plumbing trucks earlier, but don't know what they are doing. My mom filled up all kinds of jars with filtered drinking water this morning ... just in case! So, we have plenty of water!

I got an email that the satellite TV (dish) will be turned off on Wednesday if the bill isn't paid. I need to get my mom's TV ready for the antenna, etc. changeover. Fun.

I think this will work. I told my mom that there will be movies every night over dinner in the TV room. We watched Bell, Book & Candle tonight. We both love that movie. Tomorrow, I think will be Dracula with Bela Lugosi.

I'm really starting to lose interest in the internet as a whole ... I still love it for information gathering for crafts and swaps and some health articles ... but the rest, I am really burning out after all these years. I'd rather read or make puzzles like the old days ... So, you may start seeing less of my presence on here in the future ... I don't know for sure. I've already started cutting back on follows on the medias and will be cutting back more soon.

January 11, 2015

OK. This really sucks. I am completely out of black ink on my 3-in-1 printer. So, of course, the SCANNER will not work! That makes no sense at all, Canon! I've searched the error code and that is the problem. So, I can't print AND I can't scan ... Arrrghghghghg! I can't get ink until next month!!!! My oil check finally came and I bought FOOD ... :(

And, of course, the 2 working flat-bed scanners I had in my closet for several years got recycled a few months ago ... :/

I guess I'll use my camera to take the picture of my PostCrossing card I received ...
Chief Joseph - a very wise man
I received some really good swaps, too. Vintage beads, quilling papers, jewelry findings and more. Good stuff. I need to finish packaging up a couple of swaps that are due out this week, too!

Raspberry tea topped with raw cream ... mmmmm.

I'm making slow cooker roast pork with onion, potato and carrot for dinner. Smells good! There will be fresh blackberries in raw cream, too.

Shit! I can't even print a shipping label!!!

Hmmm. I might be able to take a jump drive to Staples and print it out ...
This is what I made for one of my swaps that I am sending out this week. A whimsy jar. It's filled with some craft goodies. The jar is a recycled amber glass vitamin bottle.
Oh, man, dinner was so good!

I stopped at the park again this morning on my way home from the co-op. It was about 11am and VERY busy. Lots of dogs and kids and families ... but, I walked, hung on the chin-up bar and parallel bars, walked the balance beam at least 15 times without losing my balance (getting better!), the steps and the swing. I'll stop again tomorrow after work.

I warned my mom tonight that the satellite TV will probably shut down by the end of the month. It's 1½ months late. So, she better start thinking about re-learning how to use an antenna or learn not to watch TV so much! If I could just get her to use one of the computers, she could watch stuff on there ... but, she won't touch them. She can watch on the flat screen TV the stuff I put on a jump drive or external drive. She figured that out (after much explaining ...), so that is one option. But, I know she'll want me to move that TV into her bedroom until the weather warms up and she starts using the TV room again instead of holing up in her bedroom like she has the past few weeks ...

So, this is what's growing in the pot that I planted the ginger in. Not sure any of it is ginger! We shall see!

January 9, 2015

I'm so bad. I bailed on work again. But, I did get to the co-op for the bunnies' greens and went to the park and exercised. I even used the swings. :)

I'm getting dinner ready. I am making these:
Spiced Twice-Baked Sweet Potatoes
Classic grilled Dover sole

My mom is busy rearranging her bedroom (again!!!!!!!!!) and cussing at Ezra, as usual ...

Dinner was really good. We had the last of the chia pudding that didn't thicken.
And, look at this face! Love this little girl.

January 8, 2015

You know, many people have trouble remembering to put the correct year on things when we start a new year. My problem ... I keep putting the wrong month and day! No problems, so far, putting the wrong year!

Well, I got most of my errands done today and serviced my store up in Arbuckle. But, I got lazy and didn't do my 3 Woodland stores. I'll do them tomorrow. I did get to the park before I came home, though! I did more hanging on the chin-up bar and the parallel bars. And, I spent a lot of time on the balance beam ... really want to work on that. I was going to get on the swings, but there were a lot of little ones using them today. The temps were nice ... in the 60s, so it was Toddler Central! Cute. And, lots of dogs out, too. I like that. I can't wait to start taking Nikky. I wish I'd known about this park before, but I really never looked into it until recently. It's literally in walking distance ... about 3 long blocks from home. About 1¼ miles.

Bummer. The Cacao Chia Seed Pudding that I made yesterday never thickened! I think the milk had too much colostrum and not enough cream ... But, it still tastes good!

Apparently, I am completely out of black ink in my printer ... it will not print at all because of this, even though I'm not out of colored ink. I can't get more ink until my darn oil check arrives! So, I'll have to save some of my project paper work to file and transfer to my tablet or my eReader to take with me to my stores ... :( I don't like doing that because of chance of theft ... ugh.

I read a book one day and my whole life was changed.

I haven't been in the mood to blog, but I made a couple of recipes today that I thought I'd share along with some of my other boring ramblings of the day!
I just finished making these yummy spiced pecans. You can find the recipe on page 123 of

So good! And, still warm!
The other recipe is Cacao Chia Seed Pudding. I've made a similar recipe before. Hope it turns out. I'll know tomorrow.

Back to work tomorrow. It's a looong day, as I have to go to the farm for milk before I service my stores and one of my stores is up in Arbuckle. And, I have to go to the co-op in Davis for bunny greens, too ...

I'm almost half-way done with the jigsaw puzzle I'm making. First one in YEARS (I'm going to ignore the time I tried to make this one a few months ago and my mom took over and finished it!!! Grrr.) I work on it about 20 minutes in the evening after I feed all the critters and put them to bed. I might finish it by Monday, but I'm in no hurry.

I'm going to watch a couple of episodes of Ark II before bed.
